Abstract: The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for proving protection in a connection oriented packet switched communications network. Embodiments of the invention disclose detecting a fault in a path of the network, the path comprising at least one network resource, determining a new path for the traffic, restoring the traffic to the new path, and determining where the fault has occurred in the path using the management plane to correlate the fault with the at least one network resource using a configuration map of the network. The embodiments of the invention provide for dynamic protection using a management plane in the event of a failure in the network.

Abstract: The present invention relates to the method and use of reef coral fluorescent proteins in making transgenic red, green and yellow fluorescent zebrafish. Abstract: A network element in a network is provided. The network element includes a receiver that receives a content request message. The received content request message indicates content to be transmitted to a device. The network element includes a processor in communication with the receiver. The processor generates a modified content request message by inserting identification data into the content request message. The identification data identifies at least one of a plurality of network nodes in the network. The network element includes a transmitter that transmits the modified content request message to a content distribution network server. The receiver further receives a redirect message that is based on the transmitted modified content request message. The redirect message identifies that a one of the plurality of network nodes is a cache location storing the indicated content.

Abstract: The instant invention refers to an antibacterial peptide with all aminoacids in D-configuration, possessing strong antimicrobial activity against Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria and Candida strains. The peptide can be in linear form or multimerised on a skeleton of polyacrylamide, of dextrane units or on a skeleton of ethylene glycol units. Abstract: A method includes receiving first, second, and third content streams at a first device via a distribution system. The second content stream is selected by a second device and the third content stream is selected by a third device. The method also includes sending data to a display device to concurrently present the first, second, and third content streams and first, second, and third regions, respectively. A content control and buffer module is instructed to request a fourth content stream in response to receiving a request made at the second device. Abstract: A data processing system adapted for high-speed network communications, a method for managing a network interface and a network interface for such system, are provided, in which processing of packets received over the network is achieved by embedded logic at the network interface level. Incoming packets on the network interface are parsed and classified as they are stored in a buffer memory. Functional logic coupled to the buffer memory on the network interface is enabled to access any data field within a packet in a single cycle, using pointers and packet classification information produced by the parsing and classifying step. Results of operations on the data fields in the packets are available before the packets are transferred out of the buffer memory.

Abstract: Methods and system for modeling the behavior of binary synapses are provided. In one aspect, a method of modeling synaptic behavior includes receiving an analog input signal and transforming the analog input signal into an N-bit codeword, wherein each bit of the N-bit codeword is represented by an electronic pulse (1001). The method includes loading the N-bit codeword into a circular shift register (1002) and sending each bit of the N-bit codeword through one of N switches. Each switch applies a corresponding weight to the bit to produce a weighted bit. A signal corresponding to a summation of the weighted bits is output and represents a synaptic transfer function characterization of a binary synapse (1009).
