    Abstract: A temperature or pressure gauge capable of providing a magnified output indication of a respective sensed temperature or pressure of a fluid. Overlapping surfaces are movable relative to one another in response to sensed changes in temperature or pressure of a fluid. Each surface is provided with an aperture, a light controlling edge, or an indicator which overlaps and intersects at an acute angle a respective aperture, edge or indicator on the other surface. Rotary motion or other motion induced by the sensing element is translated into linear movement of the point of intersection of the two apertures, edges or indicators, the linear movement being greater in magnitude than the movement of the sensing element. This gauge is suitable for strip chart recording, for visual observation or for electrooptical reading.

    Abstract: A ladder is provided which is especially adapted for shipboard use and which is safe and comfortable to use, of relatively light weight and occupying relatively small floor and overhead space. The ladder comprises a single stringer disposed between upper and lower deck or floor levels at a predetermined angle of inclination, and having an array of half treads on each side of the stringer, each array being vertically spaced from the other along the length of the stringer. The half treads are affixed to and extend from the respective sides of the stringer and each include an integral outwardly extending portion which terminates in a plane forward of a plane passing through the front edges of the treads. Handrails are disposed in this forward plane and are affixed to and supported by the outwardly extending tread portions.

    Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a modular conveyor belt made from extruded flexible links which may be either of plastic or metal having ends joinable into an endless belt by an extruded substantially rigid jointing member which also cooperates with a notched sprocket to form a drive member for the belt. Due to their formation by extrusion the top surface of the links may be formed with flights of different geometric form for performing a multiplicity of conveying tasks. The particular geometry of the extruded modular link anchoring connectors and the complemental shape of the extruded substantially rigid jointing and drive member permits links to be assembled into an endless belt by merely sliding the jointing and drive member transversely across the ends of a pair of back to back flexible links.

The tire may be formed of two reinforced sections with the interleaved bands forming the annular tread section of the tires, or as three reinforced sections, including two sections each including a side wall and annular bands and a connecting section including annular bands with reinforcing belts which are interleaved with the annular bands of the other two sections to form a tread section. An annular, elastomeric tread section may be formed separately and bonded around and to the annular bands of the reinforced sections.

One sprocket is fixed against axial movement to provide for proper belt tracking while the remaining sprockets, the number depending upon the width of the belt and the load carried thereby, are located on opposite sides of the fixed sprocket and are free to move axially to accommodate for changes in belt width.
