Abstract: A stand alone electric lamp for illumination which includes a tungsten-halogen bulb as the illuminating member. The lamp includes a support member, an upwardly directed open pan affixed to the support member in which the tungsten-halogen light bulb is disposed, a protector member disposed over the open pan to prevent foreign objects from coming into contact with the tungsten-halogen light bulb and a thermally activated switch. The protector member is substantially transparent to light from the tungsten-halogen bulb to allow light therefrom to pass through the protector member in a substantially unobstructed fashion. The thermally activated switch is disposed within the open pan for interruption of the application of electrical energy to the tungsten-halogen light bulb when temperatures at the protector member reaches a predetermined level.
Abstract: A wall mounted swing arm lamp with an integral display unit removably affixed to a base. Reinforcement is provided to the base to support the weight of the swing arm and the lamp when fully extended. The base and the display unit carry complementary attachment fittings for removably securing the display unit to the base.
Abstract: A stand-alone electric lamp which includes a base and a general area light source affixed an opposite end of one of a pair of stems to provide general area lighting. Disposed on the stems intermediate the base and the general area light source is a support member in the form of an elongated plate. The other of the stems terminates at the plate. Extending from the plate is an arm which has attached to its end a light source for providing task lighting directable to specific areas. The arm has a pair of flexible sections disposed therein to allow the task light to be adjustable to direct the light therefrom to the desired area.
Abstract: A torchiere lamp having a base and an upwardly directed general area lighting fixture supported upon a stem extending from the base. A task light is supported upon a rod which passes through a pair of anchors secured to the stem so that the rod is disposed substantially parallel to the stem. One of the anchors carries a locking member in the form of a threaded thumb screw which may be loosened to permit vertical and rotational movement of the rod for positional adjustment of the task light. The task light includes a reflector or shade pivotally attached to the rod to thereby permit further rotational and pivotal adjustment of the reflector.
