Patents Assigned to Lawrence Brothers Inc.
  • Patent number: 4059162
Abstract: A drilling machine is disclosed for use in providing bolt holes in concrete stadium riser steps and the like. The drilling machine includes a relatively stationary base plate, and a foot plate slideable upon the base plate along a predetermined path. The foot plate carries drill mounting means for mounting a plurality of commercially available drills. An operating lever moves the foot plate, drill mounting device and drills toward and away from a vertical drilling face over the base plate.

  • Patent number: 4049934
Abstract: There is disclosed a security hinge construction comprising a pair of hinge leafs adapted for attachment to a door or a door frame, or the like. Each leaf includes at least one knuckle which is disposed adjacent to and is moveable relative to the knuckle on the other of said leaves. An electrical circuit component such as a switch, is carried by one of the knuckles, with operating means being carried by the other of said knuckles, and with an actuator member disposed therebetween. Upon movement of the hinge leaves the operating means will move relative to the circuit component and the actuator means to activate said switch, as an indication of a change in the relative orientation of said hinge leaves.

  • Patent number: 4045065
Abstract: The embodiment of the invention disclosed herein is directed to a door stop assembly for a bidirectional swinging door to permit opening the door in a first direction during normal use and to permit selective opening of the door in a second direction during an emergency. The stop is employed in an assembly which includes a face or strike plate having an opening for receipt of a strike member, a housing formed on one side thereof, all adapted to be set in a mortise of a door frame. The door stop assembly has a depressible body or stop member which preferably, but not necessarily, is of the free floating type which moves linearly inwardly into the housing and then engages the back wall thereof and rocks about a sloping inclined surface of the body portion so that the stop engaging surface of the stop assembly is displaced from engagement with the door, thereby permitting the door to be opened in the opposite direction of its normal use.

  • Patent number: 4000540
Abstract: Two door pivot units are provided for causing radially outward or walking door motion when the door undergoes angular opening motion. In a first pivot unit, a cam follower is pushed with increasing force against a cam as the door opens by an adjustable biasing device. In a second unit, an arrowhead-shaped cam causes radially outward door movement similar to the motion caused by the first unit.

  • Patent number: 3932913
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to improvements in pivot assemblies for vertically hung doors and more particularly to novel practical pivot assemblies for use with door members of the type in which the pivoted vertical edge thereof is in substantial abutting relation with a complementary vertical door frame member when said door member is in closed position. The pivot assembly disclosed herein includes door fittings for attachment to the upper and lower corner portion of a door member and door frame fittings for association with the upper and lower horizontal sections of an associated door frame. Each door fitting carries a pintle fixed at one extremity to the door fitting and at the opposite extremity to a member or plate having a polygonally shaped periphery.
