Abstract: Provided are cellulose ester compositions comprising at least one cellulose ester, at least one impact modifier in an amount from about 1 to about 15 weight percent, and at least one frictional additive chosen from waxes and siloxanes in an amount from about 0.1 to about 15 weight percent. The composition has an HDT value greater than 850 C at 0.455 MPa, and a notched Izod impact strength value greater than 80 J/m measured according to ASTM D256 on 3.2 mm thick bars at 230 C, after conditioning the bars at 230° C. and 50% RH for 48 hours.

Abstract: An injection molding machine configured for automated molding of work pieces in plastics. The injection molding machine has a mold and an injection barrel with an outlet. The injection molding machine also has an injection nozzle with a nozzle tip forming a distal end of the injection nozzle. The injection nozzle has an injection channel extending along a longitudinal axis from a proximal end of the injection nozzle fastened to the barrel and to a nozzle gate opening arranged at the nozzle tip. The injection molding machine also has a valve member slidably connected to the nozzle tip to slide along the longitudinal axis between a first position closest to the proximal end and a second position farther away from the proximal end, and so that the nozzle gate opening is closed by the valve member in the second position and open in the first position.

Abstract: A toy comprising a toy pod and a toy figurine. The toy figurine includes a head and a body. The toy pod has a pod body that encloses a storage space. The pod body is defined by two opposed sidewalls and a third wall, which forms a rolling surface. An axis of rotation is perpendicular to the sidewalls. The storage space is formed between the sidewalls and the third wall. The pod body is equipped with a holding mechanism for releasably securing the figurine in a fixed position within the storage space. This design allows the toy pod to roll with the figurine held securely inside.
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a toy building element includes providing an acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) waste material, screening the ABS waste material for at least one property indicative of regulatory compliance and/or polymer morphology, and recovering recycled ABS polymer from the screened ABS waste material by grinding and/or a solvent dissolution recycling process. A resin is obtained by mixing the recovered recycled ABS polymer optionally with one or more additives and optionally with one or more additional polymers selected from additional ABS polymers, styrene-acrylonitrile (SAN) polymer, and butadiene or butadiene-containing polymer. The toy building element is manufactured by processing the resin. In some embodiments, screening evaluates CMR substances, metal migration limits, butadiene-to-SAN ratio, butadiene sphere size distribution, and/or butadiene sphere crosslinking.
