The tap tape includes a base film having a device hole formed to mount a driver chip for driving a panel of a flat panel display, input patterns positioned on the base film and having a plurality of electrode pads connected to a side of the device hole, output patterns positioned on the base film and having a plurality of electrode pads connected to the other side of the device hole; and connection parts positioned at the ends of the input patterns or the output patterns and having electrode pads of widths different from widths of the electrode pads.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a drive device and method of a plasma display panel in which the manufacturing cost of a PDP can be reduced. The plasma display panel in accordance with the present invention has a drive device comprising: a IC circuit supplying drive voltage to scan electrodes; a energy recovery circuit supplying sustain voltage to the IC circuit; a set up supply part supplying rising ramp wave form to the IC circuit during set up period; and a set down supply part supplying falling ramp wave form to the IC circuit during set down period, wherein said drive device includes a switch which connects the set up supply part to the set down supply part and is turned on or off responding to voltage supplied to the IC drive circuit during the set down period.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a plasma display panel, and more particularly, to a method and apparatus for driving a plasma display panel. According to a first embodiment of the present invention, there is provided a method for driving a PDP including the steps of dividing two frame data items into three frame data items; and providing the divided frame data items to the PDP. According to a first embodiment of the present invention, there is provided a method for driving a PDP including the steps of dividing two frame data items into three frame data items; and providing the divided frame data items to the PDP. The method and apparatus for driving a PDP according to the present invention can reduce large area flicker and dynamic false contour noise in a high-resolution PDP.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method of encoding video signals. The method includes creating a bit stream of a first layer by encoding the video signals, and creating a bit stream of a second layer by encoding the video signals based on the first layer. When residual data, corresponding to an image difference, within the first layer, is up-sampled and used for the encoding of the second layer, the residual data is up-sampled for each block that is predicted based on motion compensation.

Abstract: A power supply apparatus supplies power to a mobile terminal through a USB (Universal Serial Bus). This power drives the terminal to perform USB communication functions even when an external power source of the terminal is disconnected or non-operational. Through this control technique, USB communications can be unlimitedly performed only with the USB cable regardless of capacity of the external power source. A problem that the terminal is turned off due to power shortage during data transmission and reception can therefore be prevented.

Abstract: A method for forming an array antenna beam of a mobile terminal periodically compares transmit/receive characteristics of a three-dimensional adaptive beam with transmit/receive characteristics of an omnidirectional beam periodically. A beam direction having better transmit/receive characteristics is then selected. By horizontally rotating an array antenna beam toward up or down at an angle of 360° degrees, a direction having a maximum signal receiving value is searched, and a three-dimensional adaptive beam is set in the searched direction. By using position information of a mobile terminal together with the detected information, a beam direction is set. And, by comparing beam direction information set toward a maximum signal receiving direction with beam direction information set on the basis of position information of a base station/mobile terminal, an optimum beam is selected and formed, thereby improving transmit/receive characteristics of the mobile terminal.
