Abstract: A method for real time recording and playback of data to and from an optical recording medium, and a method for managing a file thereof is disclosed. In the present invention, the host controls real time data writing by providing a signal requesting for information on a defective area to the device for recording/playback of data to/from an optical disk before providing a write command. Accordingly, the write command is generated such that data is not written on the defective areas, based upon the returned information on the defective area. Alternatively, the host may first provide a write command to the device for recording/playback of data to/from an optical disk, upon which information on defective areas is returned. Thus, the host generates and provides a new write command such that data is not written on a defective area based upon the returned information on the defective area.

Abstract: An organic EL display panel has a multi-layered structure in which a first electrode and a second electrode are formed on a transparent panel and an organic EL layer is formed between the first and second electrodes. A method for sealing the organic EL display panel includes the steps of forming a buffer layer of an organic matter such as silicon oxide and silicon nitride on the transparent panel, and locating a shield cover on the buffer layer. Thus, adhesive strength between the panel and an adhesive is enhanced to prevent external humidity and oxygen from being permeated into the panel, thereby increasing life span of the display.
Abstract: Disclosed are a mobile communication terminal provided with a hands-free function and a controlling method thereof comprising the steps of: setting a hands-free function of a mobile communication terminal; certifying whether an originating call command or a calling request message are received; searching information of a calling party inputted by a user's voice or an arbitrary originating party's information from a mounted telephone directory; and guiding the searched calling party's information by voice and then connecting a calling. According to this, the user can originate or receive a calling by using a voice recognition function and the hands-free function of the terminal without his hands' using even while driving.
Abstract: A system for maintaining an amplified transmission level for a mobile communication device is provided. The system includes an amplification module in communication with a signal generator of the mobile communication device; a communication module for transmitting a first signal amplified by the amplification module in form of a second signal; and a power adjusting unit in communication with the amplification module and the communication module, wherein the power adjusting unit measures first and second power levels respectively associated with the first and second signals to determine first and second difference values.
Abstract: Packet call processing involving packet-based data transfers in a mobile communications system can handle a packet call if the mobile station has the ability to accommodate the packet call even when packet call collision occurs. Upon detecting a packet call collision between a first received packet call and a second received packet call, the mobile station determines whether a Network Service Access Point Identifier (NSAPI) is available and can be allocated to handle the second received packet call. Thus, an increased number of packet calls that can be processed simultaneously by the network and/or the mobile station so that Internet-based applications, as well as other high-speed data applications can be handled more effectively and efficiently. Such packet call collision detection and NSAPI allocation techniques are applicable to various wireless and/or mobile communications environments, such as GMS, GPRS, UTMS, etc. involving data packet transmissions whereby packet call collisions may occur.
Abstract: A cogeneration system including a pre-heater to pre-heat outdoor air blown toward the outdoor heat exchanger during a heating operation of a heat pump type air conditioner, an auxiliary evaporator to evaporate a refrigerant emerging from the outdoor heat exchanger during the heating operation of the heat pump type air conditioner, and waste heat recovering means to transfer waste heat of the engine to at least one of the pre-heater and the auxiliary evaporator. The cogeneration system exhibits a high energy efficiency.

Abstract: A built-in type compressor/condenser unit for an air conditioner with an efficient installation structure for installing an increased capacity outdoor unit is provided. The built-in type compressor/condenser unit includes a louver frame installed on a rectangular shaped space formed on an outer wall of a building. The louver frame is divided into a suction area and a discharge area, each with a plurality of louver blades. Abstract: An induction-heating cooking apparatus and a method for operating the same are disclosed. Upon receiving a low-voltage signal in a high-output level state, the apparatus controls an output signal to allow an inverter to be operated only in a ZVS (Zero Voltage Switching) area. If an input voltage applied to a circuit is a low voltage, the apparatus compensates for the input voltage using a smaller one between a blocking voltage and an output control signal generated from the microprocessor, thereby limiting a compensation component. Therefore, the apparatus prevents the occurrence of a power loss caused by an excessive switching operation, and also prevents a switch from receiving a high instantaneous current, resulting in increased endurance of cooking appliances.
Abstract: Disclosed are an apparatus and method for testing performance of a mobile station having a global positioning system (GPS) mounted therein. The method provides for virtually changing parameters requited for a registration at a base station so that the mobile station excludes the registration and directly enters a test state with an idle mode, and testing the performance of the mobile station in the idle mode test state. Accordingly, no re-boot is necessary to register with the base station upon completion of the test.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for controlling an air conditioner having a multi-compressor capable of improving an ability that corresponds to a room cooling load or a room heating load and capable of reducing an energy loss of the air conditioner. To this end, a compressing capacity of compressors by a temperature difference between a previous room temperature and a desired temperature predetermined by a user is pre-stored. Then, the pre-stored compressing capacity is varied on the basis of a temperature difference between a present room temperature and the desired temperature.
Abstract: An eccentric coupling device in a radial compliance scroll compressor includes a crank pin that is eccentrically arranged at an upper end of a crankshaft and provided with a vertically-extending flat surface at one side thereof. A bush is provided with a crank pin hole, overlapped by a stopper hole, for receiving the crank pin. A stopper is fitted in the stopper hole such that the stopper radially protrudes into the crank pin hole toward the flat surface to selectively come into contact with the flat surface in accordance with a rotation of the bush. An elevating preventing device is adapted to elastically support the bush, while connecting the stopper and the crank pin via a spring wire, preventing an elevation of the bush.
Abstract: A method and apparatus of driving a plasma display panel for making a stable operation at both a low temperature and a high temperature is disclosed. In the apparatus, a temperature sensor senses a temperature of the plasma display panel. A set-down controller differently controls a voltage for causing a set-down discharge depending upon a temperature of the plasma display panel.
