A unified communication network is thus provided by matching the RAN and the CN based upon the IP using a method and a system for signal connection and traffic transfer connection required for the network matching. As a result, a CN may be established, having the transfer path between a RAN and the CN based upon common technology such as IP.

    Abstract: An apparatus and method for recovering abnormal control cells in an asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) exchange subscriber unit. A signal cell or control cell is transmitted and a plurality of reception first-in first-out memories (FIFOs) are sequentially checked to determine whether a new cell has arrived. If there is no start of cell (SOC) signal in an initial byte of a current cell under the condition that a cell synchronization loss signal is present in the current cell, or if the SOC signal is detected during transfer of the current cell, the current cell is determined to be abnormal. If the cell synchronization loss signal is abnormal, the current cell is discarded and an associated FIFO is fully emptied to recover cell synchronization.

Initially, a connection between the HUB and terminal is determined to exist if at least one vibration signal is received from the terminal. Then, a determination is made as to when the signal is received. If received during a first check period, power is supplied from the HUB to the terminal. If received during a second check period, power continues to be supplied to the terminal. Power is cut-off when a number of vibration signals or vibration-signal events does not equal a predetermined number and the second check period transitions into the first check period. By taking these steps, the need to use specialized modules and communications protocols is eliminated, thereby reducing costs and system complexity.

An adaptation processing unit controls predistortion of the digital input signal using a base band signal outputted from a feedback unit and the digital input signal which has been delayed for a prescribed period of time. Since the input signal of the digital linearizer is directly predistorted in the digital domain, the accuracy of the predistortion can be enhanced. In addition, since the level of the digital input signal is controlled by the gain control signal and then predistorted, so that the output level of the predistortion digital linearizer can be controlled to a desired level.
