Abstract: Disclosed is a junction device for joining adjacent housing sections of a light fixture housing assembly, having a junction body structure formed from at least one junction body segment. A plurality of coupling units, each with at least one first boundary including at least one male portion or at least one female portion. The male and/or female portions are configured to enable each corresponding portion a first of the coupling units to receive the male portion of a second of the coupling units. Each of at least two of the coupling units including a first segment formed with the at least one junction body segment at respective first boundaries with the corresponding male or female portions extending therefrom. Each of the male and female portions is configured to be associated with a first locking structure to lock the female and male portions together to form the assembled light fixture housing.

Abstract: Circadian stimulus illumination control systems and methods are disclosed. Embodiments include a control system providing selection of a preset circadian stimulus profile, including a desired circadian stimulus level for setpoint times, for example, including a color temperature and brightness level for each setpoint time to simulate local natural sunlight conditions or a different selected lighting and/or stimulus condition. The control system wirelessly transmits information for the setpoints of the profile to lighting devices, which incrementally transition the color temperature and dimming of the lighting device between the profile setpoints.
Abstract: A multi-function vehicle lamp having a plurality of light emitting diodes includes a turn input and a tail input with a switch configured to stop current flowing through the tail input when the turn input is energized to increase current flow through the turn input to satisfy minimum current draw requirements of a vehicle current meter that detects turn indicator failure. The lamp may include a single combined turn/stop input, or may include separate turn and stop inputs. Lamps having separate turn and stop inputs block current flow through the stop input when the turn input is energized.
Abstract: A wireless lighting control system for controlling lighting devices and with independent site operation is disclosed. The wireless lighting control system includes a remote server system, user computer devices, and a site system. The site system includes a gateway, a wireless mesh network, and wireless devices. The wireless devices communicate with the gateway via the wireless mesh network. The gateway communicates with the remote server system via a wide-area network. The user computer devices communicate with the remote server system and the gateway. Control information for the wireless devices is stored in the remote server system and is mirrored in the gateway so that the site system can operate independently if communication with the remote server system is lost.

Abstract: A lighting system and a circuit for a solid state lighting apparatus are provided. The circuit includes an AC power source, an AC TRIAC dimmer, a plurality of light emitting diodes (LEDs), a bridge rectifier for providing a rectified AC waveform, and at least one capacitor for reducing flicker in the LEDs, and a plurality of LEDs with lower forward voltage connected to a static dimming bleeder or bleeder circuit for providing holding current to the triac of a dimmer circuit to increase the overall efficiency of the lighting system without dynamic control of the bleeder circuit. In some embodiments, the circuit includes a plurality of current sinks used for setting and maintaining a current to the main LEDs and to establish a stable bleeder current.
Abstract: A lighting system configured to be coupled to a vehicle, the lighting system including a light source configured to illuminate a target area in front of the vehicle from above, wherein the lighting system is configured to move between a retracted position and an extended position. Further, A method of preventing accidents, including positioning a light source above a target area by extending a light structure to an extended position outward from a vehicle, turning off headlights of the vehicle, and illuminating the target area from above with the light source.
Abstract: A sports lighting fixture including a single cast body which combines the functions of the base, heatsink, reflector housing, and interconnection gaskets, with many cast female holes that are later tapped with threads to eliminate the need for any nuts as fasteners. As a result, the single body becomes multi-functional. Channels may be cast into the single piece body to allow for heat pipes to be press fit. Several locations on the body may include tapped holes to attach mounting hardware (lens retainer), visors, power supply, and LED array printed circuit board. The body includes a cavity to receive a reflector. The reflector may be a single unit or segmented. The cavity may alternatively be coated with reflective material. The body incudes heat fins which extend from the back of the fixture and transition forward around the reflector cavity toward a front opening.
Abstract: Microfluidic devices having an electrowetting configuration and an optimized droplet actuation surface are provided. The devices include a conductive substrate having a dielectric layer, a hydrophobic layer covalently bonded to the dielectric layer, and a first electrode electrically coupled to the dielectric layer and configured to be connected to a voltage source. The microfluidic devices also include a second electrode configured to be connected to the voltage source. The hydrophobic layer features self-associating molecules covalently bonded to a surface of the dielectric layer in a manner that produces a densely-packed monolayer that resists intercalation and or penetration by polar molecules or species.

Abstract: A light guide is provided having an elongate body extending in a longitudinal direction having a light transmission portion with a forward light exit surface and a reflective track extending opposite the light exit surface. A plurality of reflective elements are formed along the reflective track and spaced apart in the longitudinal direction. Each reflective element has a center segment and a pair of edge segments each oriented at a spread angle from the center segment toward the light transmission portion, thereby increasing a spread of light output in a horizontal direction from the light transmission portion.
Abstract: In accordance with certain embodiments, lighting systems include one or more lightsheets each including a plurality of strings of light-emitting elements, control elements, and power conductors for supplying power to the light-emitting elements and control elements.

Abstract: A low-profile modular lighting device with flexible installation mounting options includes a lower housing, a circuit board supported by the lower housing and having electronic devices mounted thereto, and a plurality of upper housings each configured to releasably couple to the lower housing. The electronic devices of the circuit board extend within the space defined by an interior surface and upper edge of the lower housing and within the space defined by an interior surface and lower edge of each of the plurality of upper housings when coupled to the lower housing. Each of the plurality of upper housings provide a different mounting configuration for the modular lighting device. The modular lighting device may include one or more of a motion sensor, a light sensor, and a wireless transceiver for communication with a wireless lighting system.
