  • Patent number: 7753084
Abstract: A method and a clamping device for clamping a weft thread in a jet weaving machine are proposed. The weft thread strand runs through the beginning section (2.1) and the end section (2.2) of a mixing tube. The two sections between themselves form an engagement opening (8) and are connected with a first holding magnet (11) by a counter support (9). An actuator (6) in the form of an elastomeric bellows, which comprises a chamber (10), is located on the beginning section (2.1) of the mixing tube. The chamber (10) is connected to a valve (16) via a supply line (20) and is acted on variably with compressed air. By deformation of the actuator (6), a clamping element (7) connected thereto carries out a tilting movement between the counter support (9) and a contact stop part (19), which contains a second holding magnet (12). The holding magnets (11, 12) lead to an exact and reliable clamping of the weft thread (3).

  • Patent number: 7731070
Abstract: A method and an apparatus are for applying a rotationally driven pressure roller (4) onto a rotationally driven goods guiding roller (3) in stretching equipment for thermoplastic films. The pressure roller (4) is advanced in the direction of the goods guiding roller (3) by at least one first pressurizable piston-cylinder unit (7) in such a manner so that after the advancement an axis-parallel remaining stroke exists between the pressure roller (4) and the goods guiding roller (3). Then at least one second pressurizable piston-cylinder unit (8) operatively connected with the first piston-cylinder unit (7) carries out the remaining stroke, while maintaining the axis-parallelism, until a touching contact exists between the pressure roller (4) and the goods guiding roller (3). Then the pressure roller (4) becomes effective with a nominal pressing force onto the goods guiding roller (3).

  • Patent number: 7650913
Abstract: A weaving machine starts-up in slow speed operation during a first weaving cycle following the machine start. To help avoid weft breaks, a method is provided to hold a weft thread inserted into the loom shed during the first weaving cycle. A sensor monitors the weft insertion. The inserted weft thread is held by binding threads at a location downstream from an inlet side of the loom shed, before the weft thread is bound by the warp threads. The binding of the weft thread by the binding threads is carried out dependent on a signal of the sensor.

Abstract: Even weft yarns having low tearing force shall be processible without problems on weaving machines, especially air-jet weaving machines, that are operated in the slow speed running in the first weaving cycle after a weaving machine start. This is achieved according to the invention in that the weft thread (3) inserted into a loom shed (4) in the first weaving cycle after a weaving machine start is bound by separate binding threads (8) temporally before the binding by the warp threads (2), and in that the binding by the binding threads (8) occurs spatially at at least one position of the loom shed (4) after its inlet.

  • Patent number: 7481249
Abstract: A reed drive of a loom includes a reed shaft connected to a reed. A conversion gearing having an input element and an output element is provided at each end of the reed shaft. The input elements are coupled to driven shafts of electromotive rotary drives to produce a common rotational motion with the same rotational speed as the driven shafts. The conversion gearings convert the rotating motion of their input elements into a reversible rotation of the output elements, and the output elements are coupled to the reed shaft in a rotationally fixed manner. Thus, the number of complete rotations of an input element is equal to the number of complete motion cycles of the reed shaft per unit of time.

  • Patent number: 7287553
Abstract: A leno cloth is prepared, which comprises at least ground warp threads 1, leno warp threads 3 and weft threads 2, and in which the weft threads 2 and the ground warp threads 1 are arranged essentially interspace free. The weft threads are bound-off by means of the leno warp threads 3, which comprise a clearly lower titer relative to the ground warp threads 1, with such a lower tension relative to the ground warp threads, so that the crossings of the leno warp threads 3 with the ground warp threads 1 that are present due to the binding are arranged in a plane parallel to the plane of the maximum thickness of the weft threads. The leno warp threads 3 comprise a higher working-in or take-up into the woven cloth than the ground warp threads 1. According to a further aspect of the invention, a method for the production of a leno cloth as well as a loom for the carrying out of the method for the production of a leno cloth are described.

  • Patent number: 7225838
Abstract: A loom simultaneously forms a plain weave (16) and a gauze weave (15) in a textile (9) in one weaving cycle. To form the plain weave (16), the adjacent warp threads (1L,2L) that are used to form the upper shed and lower shed are alternately lifted from the lower shed position into the upper shed position and lowered from the upper shed position into the lower shed position by the same drop wire/needle shank (4). To form the gauze weave (15), only the warp threads (2D) that form the upper shed are raised by the drop wire/needle shank (4) from the lower shed position into the upper shed position and lowered from the upper shed position into the lower shed position.

  • Patent number: 7077168
Abstract: A thread brake arrangement for use in a textile processing machine includes two brake elements with the thread running there between. An actuator, preferably a piezoelectric actuator, variably actuates one of the brake elements relative to the other to exert an adjustable braking force onto the thread. The thread exerts a reaction force in the thread running direction onto the brake elements. At least one of the brake elements is movably supported to be movable along the thread running direction, and is mechanically coupled to a force transducer that measures the reaction force, which is proportional or equal to the thread tension force. A regulating arrangement receives the measured force signal, and controls the actuator to adjust the adjustable brake element, so as to vary the applied braking force and thus regulate the arising thread tension responsive to and dependent on the measured reaction force.
