  • Patent number: 11754866
Abstract: To enable several orders of magnitude increases in average power and energy handling capability of Faraday rotators, the technology utilizes high speed gas cooling to efficiently remove thermal loading from the Faraday optic faces while minimizing the thermal wavefront and thermal birefringence by creating a longitudinal thermal gradient. A recirculating gas cooling manifold accelerates the gas over the surface of the slab to create a turbulent flow condition which maximizes the surface cooling rate. The technology further provides a spatially uniform thermal profile on the Faraday slabs.

  • Patent number: 11745454
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods of forming a fiber optic core, and a fiber optic component with a highly uniform cladding covering the fiber optic core. In one microfabrication process a first sacrificial tubing is provided which has a predetermined inner diameter. A quantity of a curable polymer is also provided. The first sacrificial tubing is at least partially filled with the curable polymer. The curable polymer is then cured. The first sacrificial tubing is then removed to produce a finished fiber optic core. Additional operations may be performed by which the fiber optic core is placed inside a thermoplastic tubing, which is itself placed inside a sacrificial heat shrink. Heat is applied to reflow the thermoplastic tubing around the fiber optic core, thus forming a highly uniform thickness cladding. When the sacrificial heat shrink tubing is removed a finished fiber optic component is present.

  • Patent number: 11741643
Abstract: A system for generating a 4D representation of a scene in motion given a sinogram collected from the scene while in motion. The system generates, based on scene parameters, an initial 3D representation of the scene indicating linear attenuation coefficients (LACs) of voxels of the scene. The system generates, based on motion parameters, a 4D motion field indicating motion of the scene. The system generates, based on the initial 3D representation and the 4D motion field, a 4D representation of the scene that is a sequence of 3D representations having LACs. The system generates a synthesized sinogram of the scene from the generated 4D representation. The system adjusts the scene parameters and the motion parameters based on differences between the collected sinogram and the synthesized sinogram. The processing is repeated until the differences satisfy a termination criterion.

  • Patent number: 11734478
Abstract: A molecular dynamics system employing a spliced soft-core potential (the “MD/SSCP”) facilitates studying the arrangement of particles in an enclosure and/or near an interface. In some embodiments, the MD/SSCP initializes a three-dimensional representation containing the enclosure and the particles in a first arrangement. The MD/SSCP conducts a first simulation to transition the representation to a second arrangement, during which the particles are allowed to move through a wall of the enclosure while the SSCP is unengaged. The MD/SSCP conducts a second simulation to transition the representation to a third arrangement, during which it becomes more difficult for the particles to move through the wall of the enclosure while the SSCP is gradually engaged. The MD/SSCP conducts a third simulation to transition the representation to a fourth arrangement of the particles, during which it becomes almost impossible for the particles to move through the wall of the enclosure.

  • Patent number: 11735311
Abstract: A system for classifying a target image with segments having attributes is provided. The system generates a graph for the target image that includes vertices representing segments of the image and edges representing relationships between the connected vertices. For each vertex, the system generates a subgraph that includes the vertex as a home vertex and neighboring vertices representing segments of the target image within a neighborhood of the segment represented by the home vertex. The system applies an autoencoder to each subgraph to generate latent variables to represent the subgraph. The system applies a machine learning algorithm to a feature vector comprising a universal image representation of the target image that is derived from the generated latent variables of the subgraphs to generate a classification for the target image.
