Abstract: A transmission apparatus and method, respectively, mapping payload data of mapping input data streams onto a mapping output data stream having a channel bandwidth for transmission in a multi-carrier broadcast system. To enable selection of robustness for transmission of data, the apparatus includes a frame forming mechanism mapping data blocks of at least two mapping input data streams onto frames of the mapping output data stream covering the channel bandwidth, each frame including a payload portion, the payload portion including plural data symbols and being segmented into data segments each covering a bandwidth portion of the channel bandwidth. The frame forming mechanism is configured to map the data blocks of the at least two mapping input data streams onto data symbols of the payload portion and includes a MIMO mode selector selecting a MIMO mode of the data blocks per data segment and/or per mapping input data stream.

Abstract: A system for indicating degraded operation of a robotic paint station is provided. The system includes a paint nozzle operable to spray paint upon a work piece, a paint supply tube system including a plurality of paint supply tubes operable to supply a flow of paint to the paint nozzle, a vacuum system connected to the paint supply tube system and operable to remove air pockets from the paint supply tube system, a pressure sensor connected to the vacuum system, and a computerized robot control module. The computerized robot control module is programmed to monitor data from the pressure sensor, compare the data to a threshold pressure value, and generate a maintenance warning indicating degraded vacuum system operation based upon the comparing.

Abstract: A fenestration installation diagnostic system includes a diagnostic cord and a plurality of diagnostic fittings configured for coupling with a fenestration assembly. Each of the diagnostic fittings includes at least one bracket leg configured to statically couple the diagnostic fitting with the fenestration assembly and at least one alignment interface, and the alignment interface is configured to align the diagnostic cord at a diagnostic intersection. Each of the diagnostic fittings further includes at least one cord guide configured to route the diagnostic cord along the diagnostic fitting and toward another diagnostic fitting of the plurality of diagnostic fittings. In a diagnostic configuration with the fenestration assembly each of the diagnostic fittings are statically with the fenestration assembly, and the diagnostic cord tautly extends from the alignment interfaces of the plurality of diagnostic fittings to the diagnostic intersection.

Abstract: Implementations are described related to users directly manipulating visual depictions of aspects of a data set displayed in a user interface to generate or modify visual representations of the data set, such as a chart. The direct manipulation may be either through a computer input device, (e.g., a keyboard or mouse), or based on other input data, such as a touch input. Aspects of a data set include dimensions, which may be used to filter the data set, and metrics, which are quantifiable elements within the data set. In various implementations, input such as drag-and-drop operations corresponding to visual depictions of aspects of a data set may be interpreted in generating or modifying charts.

Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for providing access control to the underlying data of a single machine-readable identifier when read by various reader devices. A client device may receive a first cryptographic key associated with a first device profile and a second cryptographic key associated with a second device profile. Data provided through an ingestion process is formatted into at least a first portion of data and a second portion of data, where the first portion of data is intended for a first reader device and the second portion of data is intended for a second reader device. The first portion of data may be encrypted using the first cryptographic key while the second portion of data is encrypted using the second cryptographic key. A machine-readable identifier may be generated using the first portion of data as encrypted and the second portion of data as encrypted.

Abstract: In accordance with certain embodiments, an improved switching mechanism and related components are provided. In accordance with one embodiment, an apparatus can include a switching mechanism rated to switch at least 27 kilovolts; a housing to house the switching mechanism; an isolation point of the switching mechanism visible from outside the housing to visibly exhibit a physical open-circuit by the switching mechanism; wherein the isolation point is electrically insulated without using SF6 gas during operation. Abstract: Integrated acoustic emission transducer apparatus and methods are described. An example integrated external preamplifier device includes a data extractor, a process variable determiner, a status indication determiner, and a presentation device. The integrated external preamplifier device receives an acoustic emission signal generated via an acoustic emission sensor operatively coupled to the integrated external preamplifier device. The data extractor extracts signal data from the acoustic emission signal. The process variable determiner determines process variable data based on the extracted signal data. The process variable data includes at least one of flow rate data, flow capacity data, flow area data, flow velocity data, mass accumulation data, or volume accumulation data. The status indication determiner determines status indication data based on the process variable data.

Abstract: A pre-fetching technique determines what data, if any, to pre-fetch on a per-logical storage unit basis. For a given logical storage unit, what, if any, data to prefetch is based at least in part on a collective sequential proximity of the most recently requested pages of the logical storage unit. Determining what, if any, data to pre-fetch for a logical storage unit may include determining a value for a proximity metric indicative of the collective sequential proximity of the most recently requested pages, comparing the value to a predetermined proximity threshold value, and determining whether to pre-fetch one or more pages of the logical storage unit based on the result of the comparison. A data structure may be maintained that includes most recently requested pages for one or more logical storage units. This data structure may be a table.

Abstract: A computing device outputs a keyboard for display, receives an indication of a first gesture to select a first sequence of one or more keys, determines a set of candidate strings based in part on the first sequence of keys, and outputs for display at least one of the set of candidate strings. The computing device receives an indication of a second gesture to select a second sequence of one or more keys, and determines that characters associated with the second sequence of keys are included in a first candidate word based at least in part on the set of candidate strings, or are included in a second candidate word not based on the first sequence of keys. The computing device modifies the set of candidate strings based at least in part on the determination and outputs for display at least one of the modified candidate strings.

Abstract: An apparatus for communicating the status of a consumable includes a sleeve with a tubular housing. The tubular housing has a lumen with a proximal section and a distal section separated by an internal flange. The sleeve includes a battery case or power module with a coaster coupled on the proximal side of the internal flange, an electronic module and a power supply module coupled to the distal side of the internal flange. A sensor in the form of a spring-loaded switch is located on the coaster to trigger and enable a status indicator based on a predetermined weight of a beverage container. The status indicator is an LED light source or wireless signal coupled to the sensor through the electronic module.

Abstract: An electronic display for an aerial device is provided. The electronic display replaces a traditional load chart including the operational parameters of the aerial device being used. The electronic display electrically connected with a computer control system connected to a sensor for collecting at least one piece of data relating to the operational parameters of the aerial device. The computer control system calculating the current operational parameter of the aerial device based on the at least one piece of data collected by the sensor and updating the operational parameters of the aerial device and displaying a graphical representation of the updated operational parameters on the electronic display.

Abstract: Methods and devices for providing a haptic responses to a haptic feedback device may include receiving, by an application providing a virtual environment executing on a computer device, physical movement input based at least on movement of the haptic feedback device that corresponds to a virtual movement interaction with a virtual object in the virtual environment. The methods and devices may include accessing a haptic signature associated with the virtual object. The methods and devices may include determining a haptic response based at least upon the haptic signature to identify the virtual object through the haptic response. The methods and devices may include transmitting the haptic response to the haptic feedback device.

Abstract: Systems and methods for performing OCR of a series of images depicting text symbols. An example method comprises performing OCR a series of images to produce a current symbol sequence and corresponding symbol sequence quadrangle; associating the current symbol sequence with a previous symbol sequence for a previously received image; identifying a median string; determining a median symbol sequence quadrangle; and displaying, using the median symbol sequence quadrangle, a resulting OCR text representing at least a portion of the original document.

Abstract: Fragrance dispensers with features that are capable of reducing wastage of fragrance, or of conserving fragrance, are disclosed. Such a fragrance dispenser may have a configuration that collects fragrance that is expelled from the fragrance dispenser, but has not vaporized or atomized sufficiently to dissipate into the environment, as well as fragrance that condenses immediately after it has been expelled from the fragrance dispenser. A spill-resistant bottle that may be used with a fragrance dispenser has a shape that orients an opening of the bottle in a somewhat upward orientation to prevent fragrance from spilling out when the bottle is tipped over. Fragrance dispensers with configurations that generate vortices to deliver fragrance into the surrounding environment are also disclosed.
