Abstract: An image sensor may include an array of image pixels. The image pixel pixels may be arranged in columns and rows. Each column of image pixels may be coupled to column readout circuitry via respective column lines. The column readout circuitry may include amplifier circuitry, a first source follower stage, and a second source follower stage. The first and second source follower stages may be interposed between the amplifier circuitry and a sampling capacitor. A switch may be interposed between the first and second source follower stages. The second source follower transistor may be configured to provide an intermediate sampling voltage to the sampling capacitor. The first source follower transistor may be configured to provide a final sampling voltage to the sampling capacitor. In such a manner, kickback from sampling signals using readout circuitry may be reduced.

Abstract: Embodiments provide a unidirectional multi-path kiln with two or more chambers and generally parallel flow paths extending through the kiln, on opposite sides, from charge entry portals at a first end of the kiln to charge exit portals at a second end of the kiln. Moist heated air flowing from the second heated chamber is received in the first chamber and circulated around the lumber charges with one or more fans. The lumber charges proceed in the same direction on the flow paths through the heated second chamber, which may be an existing kiln. Charge exit portals at the distal end of the kiln and/or intermediate charge portals between the second chamber and a third chamber may be provided with insulating members configured to reduce airflow from the second chamber through the charge exit portals.
Abstract: Systems and techniques are provided for presence and directional motion detection. Signals may be received from a sensor positioned in a structure. An indication of directional motion may be generated based on the signals from the sensor. The indication of directional motion may be generated without using signals from additional sensors. A control signal for a device in the structure may be generated in response to the indication of directional motion. The control signal may be sent to the device in the structure to be implemented by the device.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a system receives a number of times from a number of time sources including sensors and real-time clocks (RTCs), wherein the sensors are in communication with an autonomous driving vehicle (ADV) and the sensors include at least a GPS sensor. The system generates a difference histogram based on a time for each of the time sources for a difference between a time of the GPS sensor and a time for each of the other sensors and RTCs. The system ranks the sensors and RTCs based on the difference histogram. The system selects a time source from one of the sensors or RTCs with a least difference in time with respect to the GPS sensor. The system generates a timestamp based on the selected time source to timestamp sensor data for a sensor unit of the ADV.
Abstract: This document describes techniques for application reporting in an application-selectable user interface. These techniques permit a user to view reports for applications in a user interface through which these applications may be selected. By so doing, a user may quickly and easily determine which applications to select based on their respective reports and then select them or their content through the user interface.

Abstract: A method of capturing and analyzing information for a particle detection system comprises generating a reaction to a plurality of particles using a converter material, wherein the converter material is operable to interact with the plurality of particles. The method further comprises converting a response to the reaction to an electrical signal using a plurality of sensors, wherein the converter material is operable to be coated onto the plurality of sensors, and wherein each of the plurality of sensors comprises an array of discrete pixel sensors each with a respective (x,y) coordinate within the array. Further, the method comprises processing the electrical signal to generate data regarding each pixel on the array of discrete pixels and serializing the data collected from the plurality of sensors and transmitting the data over thin cables to a processing unit that is located at a separate and remote location from the plurality of sensors.
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for adjusting a vehicle cabin heating system, based on particulate filter (PF) regeneration prediction. In one example, a method includes predicting an amount of exhaust heat that may be recovered via an exhaust heat exchanger during an upcoming PF regeneration event, and prior to the PF regeneration event, adjusting an amount of electric power supplied to an electric heater of the cabin heating system. The amount of adjustment may be based on the predicted amount of exhaust heat that may be recovered.

Abstract: Compositions and methods for making and using the compositions for maintaining clean surfaces are disclosed herein. A preferred composition for maintaining clean surfaces is an aqueous solution that comprises water, silicon dioxide, stearic acid, nitrous oxide, hydrogen and a hydrophobic substance. A preferred hydrophobic substance for this preferred composition is a water soluble powder of Polysilsesquioxane Steardimonium Chloride. A preferred method of making such a composition includes the steps of mixing the solid ingredients—silicon dioxide, stearic acid, and the hydrophobic substance, and then mixing the solid ingredients with water until the ingredients are preferably evenly distributed in the solution at preferably a PH of 0-5. A preferred method of using such a composition includes the steps of applying an even layer of the composition onto a surface and allowing the surface to dry.

A valve and a set of hydraulic lines are mounted on the portable frame for releasable connection to the hydraulic fluid lines of a tillage machine so that an inexpensive fork lift truck may be utilized to test operation of hydraulically actuated tillage components.
Abstract: Various forms of a cable fixation device, instrumentation, kit, and methods useful for repairing the skeletal system are introduced. The system utilizes a clamp housing fixing a head end of a surgical cable therein. In an operative configuration the cable is looped around a damaged bone segment and reentered through a lock aperture in the clamp housing then through a multi-part collet and lock cap residing within a lock aperture. The cable loop and each aforementioned component comprise a central axis aligned within a single plane. A sliding interface situated between the lock cap and collet prevent twisting of the surgical cable. The locking mechanism is non-destructive to the cable despite repeated unlocking and relocking of the fixation device. The axis for tensioning of the cable is coincident with the locking axis. A cerclage inserter instrument is disclosed.
