  • Patent number: 10940871
Abstract: An autonomous vehicle including a sensor system that outputs a sensor signal indicative of a condition of the autonomous vehicle. The vehicle also includes a user interface device with a display. A computing system determines, based upon a profile of the passenger, that support is to be provided pictorially to the passenger when the support is provided to the passenger. The computing system further detects occurrence of an event that has been identified as potentially causing discomfort to the passenger. The computing system yet further sets a predefined pictorial support message defined in an account corresponding to the event maintained in a database prior to occurrence of the event as a pictorial support message to be presented to the passenger. The computing system additionally causes the display to present the pictorial support message, wherein the pictorial support message solicits feedback from the passenger of the autonomous vehicle.

  • Patent number: 10941856
Abstract: A hydraulic control system includes a primary sump and an auxiliary sump. When the transmission fluid is warm, fluid remains in the auxiliary sump reducing the volume of oil in circulation throughout the transmission to reduce parasitic losses. An oil control valve is designed to block flow of oil from the auxiliary sump to the primary sump when the fluid is warm and to allow flow when the fluid is cold. The oil control valve also responds to transmission line pressure. At moderate temperatures, fluid is held in the auxiliary sump when the engine is running but drains back to the primary sump when the engine is off.

  • Patent number: 10942825
Abstract: Mitigating the effects of a real node failure in a mapped redundant array of independent nodes, e.g., mapped cluster is disclosed. In response to a change in an accessibility to data stored on a real storage device of a real node of a real cluster, wherein the real storage device corresponds to a mapped storage device of a mapped node of a mapped cluster, substituting a reserved real storage device for the real storage device. The substituting the reserved real storage device can correspond to a change in a topology of the mapped cluster, wherein the change in the topology comprises replacing the mapped storage device with a substitute mapped storage device that corresponds to the replacement real storage device. The changed topology can enable writing of data to the substitute mapped storage device that can cause writing of corresponding data to the reserved real storage device.

  • Patent number: 10942163
Abstract: Devices for micro-fluid mixing micro-fluids are presented, together with example methods for micro-mixing using example devices. An example device may include a micro-volume fluid chamber (?VFC), a micro-volume mixing chamber (?VMC), and a source of a target micro fluid. The ?VFC may include two slidably-mounted piston segments that divide the ?VFC into three sub-volumes, one of which initially contains a mixer micro-fluid. The source of the target micro fluid may be triggered to deliver the target micro-fluid into another of the sub-volumes via an inlet channel. A propellant may be triggered to drive axial motion of the piston segments, causing the sub-volumes to compress. Through this action, the mixer micro-fluid may be expelled via a first outlet channel into the ?VMC, and the target micro-fluid may be expelled via a second outlet channel into the ?VMC. As the piston segments move, they block and unblock the inlet and outlet channels.

  • Patent number: 10943181
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a system and method that can be used with any underlying classification technique. The method receives a test dataset and determines the features in that test dataset that are present. From these features the training dataset is modified to only have those features that are present in the test dataset. This modified test dataset is then used to calibrate the classifier for the particular incoming data set. The process repeats itself for each different incoming dataset providing a just in time calibration of the classifier.
