  • Patent number: 10803472
Abstract: A method and system for emergent data processing are described. A system having one or more servers operable to handle retail data can receive content including customer data and product data. The content can be normalized and stored into a hyper-graph structure in the servers. The system can be used to select a portion of the hyper-graph structure based on a particular customer and to generate a recommendation for the particular customer based on the content in that portion of the hyper-graph structure. The system can also generate personal catalogs based on the information in the hyper-graph structure. The system can perform competitive analysis between products from different sources and include the results in the recommendations. Moreover, the system can perform a vertical analysis of consumable products to provide recommendations for tools or products that can be used in connection with the consumable products.

  • Patent number: 10802726
Abstract: A garbage collection process running on a computing device is configured to track the number of garbage collection cycles that storage fragments, called extents, are persisted in storage without being modified or deleted using a lifetime counter that is implemented using metadata. At each garbage collection cycle, the extents are sorted by lifetime values. Old extents (i.e., those existing at the start of the cycle) are bucketed together by lifetime values during garbage collection into new extents (i.e., those being created during the cycle). Thus, each of the new extents includes data having similar lifetime values. The lifetime value for the new extent equals the lowest lifetime value of the old source extent plus one additional increment on the counter. As extents are organized by garbage collection lifetime, placement on storage media can be optimized according to expected endurance requirements.

  • Patent number: 10805013
Abstract: A linear array of underwater radio frequency (RF) antennas is implemented, which emit surface electromagnetic waves propagating along either water-air or water-seafloor interface. The phase difference ?? between neighboring antennas defines the overall beam direction, while the so-formed directional beam intensity remains almost constant near the antenna array due to the largely two-dimensional character of beam propagation. By adjusting the phase difference ??, the narrow two-dimensional surface beam may be sent in any direction over 360°, thus enabling targeted RF communication with any desired object located near the said interface. An impedance matching enclosure filled with an impedance matching fluid may also be utilized surrounding the antennas to reduce antenna dimensions and improve coupling of electromagnetic energy to the surrounding salt water medium, thereby improving underwater radio communication performance.

  • Patent number: 10805867
Abstract: A communication technique for establishing communication among an access point, an electronic device, and a radio node in a cellular-telephone network is described. In this communication technique, the electronic device is pre-provisioned by the radio node with an identifier of the cellular-telephone network. Moreover, the access point may advertise support for one or more LWA protocols in beacons. In response to a query from the electronic device, the access point may provide identifiers of the one or more cellular-telephone networks supported by the access point. If one of these identifiers matches the identifier, the electronic device may associate with the access point. Then, the access point may receive LWA traffic from the radio node and may forward the LWA traffic to the electronic device.
