Abstract: A method for calibrating a map of an autonomous robot, a trajectory of the autonomous robot, or a combination thereof includes obtaining localization data from a localization sensor of the autonomous robot and determining whether a calibration condition of the autonomous robot is satisfied based on the localization data. The method includes, in response to the calibration condition being satisfied: determining a master position coordinate of the autonomous robot based on a plurality of radio frequency (RF) signals broadcasted by a plurality of RF tags, converting the master position coordinate to a local position coordinate of the autonomous robot, and selectively updating the map, the trajectory, or a combination thereof based on the local position coordinate of the autonomous robot.
Abstract: A ball socket assembly, bearing therefor, and method of construction thereof are provided. The ball socket assembly includes a housing with an inner bore extending between a closed first end region and an open second end region. A fiber-reinforced bearing is disposed in the inner bore. The bearing has a lower portion presenting a lower bearing surface having a first radius of curvature and an upper portion presenting an upper bearing surface having a second radius of curvature that is greater than the first radius of curvature. The lower bearing surface and the upper bearing surface surround a ball cavity in which a spherical ball portion of a ball stud is disposed. The housing second end region is plastically deformed radially inwardly to impart a bias on the bearing upper portion that causes the second radius of curvature to be biased substantially equal to the first radius of curvature.

Abstract: An engine system that delivers torque to a driveline of a vehicle includes an internal combustion engine (ICE), a manifold, a compressor and a controller. The manifold selectively communicates air into the ICE. The compressor is driven by an electric motor and is configured to deliver air toward and away from the manifold. The controller determines an ICE start request and, based on the ICE start request, sends a signal to the electric motor to rotate the compressor in a direction that moves air out of the manifold. The eCompressor is used to deplete air in the manifold before starting the ICE. As a result, a reduction in fuel used and therefore a reduction in emissions at startup is achieved.

Abstract: Disclosed is an internally illuminated bioreactor, and related algae production methods, that employ integrated in-water grow light assemblies configured to manage the heat generated by lighting elements, such as light emitting diodes (“LEDs”) on the in-water grow lights. The bioreactor includes an outer shell and one or more in-water grow light fixtures positioned within the outer shell that are positioned around the perimeter of a hollow, internal tube. The lighting elements and internal tube are themselves contained within a preferably clear, exterior tube of the light fixture that allows light generated by the lighting elements to pass through to the algae culture inside of the growth chamber.
Abstract: A tray table tuning mechanism having a mount member; a pivot limiting member coupled to the mount member and having a mating surface defining a groove; a paddle arm deployment member pivotably coupled to the mount member and pivotable relative to the pivot limiting member; and a paddle arm pivotably coupled to the paddle arm deployment member, pivotable between a stowed state and a deployed state, and having at least one stop member; wherein, in the deployed state of the paddle arm, the at least one stop member is positioned within the groove and mates with the mating surface.
Abstract: Described herein is a nozzle for controlling foam of a carbonated beverage product produced by a beverage making machine, and associated system and method of use thereof. The nozzle can include an engagement portion configured for releasable attachment with the beverage making machine. The nozzle can further include a funnel portion extending elongated from the engagement portion and that is configured to converge a flow of the carbonated beverage product. The nozzle can further include a dispense portion to establish a stream of the carbonated beverage product into a receptacle. An alignment feature on an exterior of the nozzle can define an offset between a wall of the receptacle and the stream of the carbonated beverage product.

Abstract: Systems, methods, articles of manufacture for authentication of payment cards. A server may assign, in a database, an expected card identifier to a contactless card, the contactless card associated with an account. The server may receive, from a client device, a request comprising a uniform resource locator (URL), a parameter of the URL comprising a card identifier, wherein the URL is transmitted by the contactless card to the client device. The server may extract the card identifier from the URL and compare the extracted card identifier to the expected card identifier in the database. The server may determine, based on the comparison, that the extracted card identifier matches the expected card identifier. The server may authenticate the request based on the extracted card identifier matching the expected card identifier, and transmit, to the client device, an indication specifying that the request was authenticated.
Abstract: The invention contemplates a copolymer which is a graft or block copolymer useful to change wettability and surface characteristics of biological surfaces. Methods for use of these formulations and coatings to change wettability and sterically stabilize, and lubricate biological surfaces in a subject, for example, in the treatment of dry eye syndrome, and to prevent adherence of unwanted proteins, for example in the treatment of contact lens intolerance, are provided.

Abstract: Data in various formats can be protected in a distributed tokenization environment. Examples of such formats include date and time data, decimal data, and floating point data. Such data can tokenized by a security device that instantiates a number of tokenization pipelines for parallel tokenization of the data. Characteristics of such data can be used to tokenize the data. For instance, token tables specific to the data format can be used to tokenized the data. Likewise, a type, order, or configuration of the operations within each tokenization pipeline can be selected based on the data format or characteristics of the data format. Each tokenization pipeline performs a set of encoding or tokenization operations in parallel and based at least in part on a value received from another tokenization pipeline. The tokenization pipeline outputs are combined, producing tokenized data, which can be provided to a remote system for storage or processing.
Abstract: Hydrogen-producing fuel cell systems and methods of operating the same. The methods include initiating supply of a stored hydrogen stream, which includes stored hydrogen gas, to a fuel cell stack. Prior to the initiating, the stored hydrogen gas is stored in a low-pressure hydrogen storage tank at a hydrogen storage pressure. The methods also include generating an electrical power output from the stored hydrogen gas with the fuel cell stack. The methods further include, during a supply time interval that is subsequent to the initiating, monitoring a hydrogen supply variable that is indicative of flow of the stored hydrogen stream to the fuel cell stack. The methods also include detecting a change in the hydrogen supply variable and responding to the detecting. The systems include a controller that is programmed to perform the methods.
Abstract: A coulter assembly for collecting soil samples from an agricultural field in one embodiment comprises an annular collection blade configured for penetrating soil to capture a sample, an annular cam ring configured for stationary mounting to a frame of an agricultural vehicle and comprising a cam track, a blade hub coupled to the blade for rotatably supporting the annular collection blade from the annular cam ring, and a movable sample collector mounted to the annular collection blade. The moveable sample collector is configured and operable for extracting a soil sample as the annular collection blade is rotated through the soil. The moveable sample collector in one embodiment comprises a piston mechanism including a cylinder and rod movably disposed therein which actuated by the annular cam ring to alternatingly open and close a collection end of the cylinder as the annular collection blade rotates through the soil.

Abstract: The present inventors have developed antigen-binding reagents and antigen-binding conjugates that recognize a cancer-specific glycan (carbohydrate) modification on the human Periostin protein. Various in vitro and in vivo diagnostic and/or therapeutic methods using these compositions are also disclosed herein specifically for treating cancers that have amplification of the Mgat3 gene.
Abstract: Aspects of the technology evaluate a client device query to identify an IP address-based estimated location of a mobile device. One or more candidate wireless stations are selected in accordance with the IP-based estimated location and a location-relevant response to the query is also generated in accordance with the IP-based location. This information is transmitted to the mobile device. The mobile device compares the received information about the candidate wireless stations against one or more actual wireless stations with which the mobile device is in communication. Log information is generated as a result of the comparison. The log information is anonymized and transmitted to the network without user ID or other client-identifiable information included in the log. The received log information is then used to validate the initial estimated location. Aggregation of log information from multiple devices may be used in the validation process.
