Abstract: In one aspect, a light module is disclosed, which includes a housing providing a hollow chamber extending from a proximal end to a distal end, and a lens positioned in the hollow chamber, where the lens has a lens body comprising an input surface for receiving light from a light source and an output surface through which light exits the lens body, said lens further comprising a collar at least partially encircling said lens body. The light module further includes at least one shoulder on which the lens collar can be seated for positioning the lens within the housing. A light source, e.g., an LED, is coupled to the hollow chamber, e.g., at its proximal end, for providing light to the lens. In some embodiments, an optical window is disposed in the hollow chamber and is optically coupled to the output surface of the lens such that the light exiting the lens passes through the optical window before exiting the light module. In some embodiments, the shoulder can be formed as part of the housing.

Abstract: The present device is directed to a biometric electromyography (EMG) sensor device and methods for using the same to provide a user with the ability to monitor physical muscle fatigue and protect themselves against injury due to overuse. Embodiments of the present disclosure include an accelerometer for artifact noise removal and an EMG sensor that is used to collect EMG signals and surface EMG (sEMG) signals from electrodes placed onto a wearable device, which can be in tight contact with the skin due to its elasticity. This collected data can then be transmitted to an electronic device via a microcontroller. The electronic device may include an app that is continuously running to monitor user fatigue in real-time.
Abstract: A locomotive propulsion system includes an engine assisting apparatus and an engine control unit that monitors an output parameter of a locomotive engine. The control unit determines whether the engine output decreases sufficiently low to at least partially de-fuel the engine and to activate an assisting apparatus. This assisting apparatus rotates a shaft of the engine with or without the engine also rotating the shaft. Rotation of the shaft by the assisting apparatus can be used to power traction motors or other loads of the locomotive while reducing fuel consumption and/or emission generation by the engine.
Abstract: A system comprises a processor and a non-transitory computer-readable medium to store instructions for execution by the processor. The instructions are configured to discover a topology of a network in an on-premises datacenter, where the topology includes hardware and software components in the on-premises datacenter and in one or more hops from an external network to a gateway of the network. The instructions are configured to determine a plurality of parameters of the components that affect performance of applications and services running on the network. The instructions are configured to determine, based on the discovered topology and the parameters, an optimal topology for the network that optimizes one or more of the parameters to improve the performance of applications and services running on the network.
Abstract: A method and system are disclosed for delivering a package which includes an enclosure with a door. The door includes an access code input device, which has a tilt plate for entering a code. The method and system also include a mechanism for opening and closing the door and a controller, which is in communication with the access code input device, is proximate the door and includes an access code reader for controlling the mechanism. The method also includes the step of providing a package with a delivery label attached to the package having an access code comprising dimensions for the package to be delivered. The access code further includes instructions to partially move the door only for an amount of time needed to partially open the door from a closed position or partially close the door from an open position according to the dimensions of the package to only allow passage of the package.

Abstract: A system is provided that includes a first network interface for a first network type and a second network interface for a second network type that is different from the first network type. The system also includes at least one processor configured to cause the system to perform operations. The operations may include obtaining, from the first network interface, audio from a communication session with a remote device established over the first network and obtaining an indication of a communication device available to participate in the communication session and direct audio obtained from the communication session to a remote transcription system. The operations may also include directing the audio to the second network interface for transmission to the communication device, obtaining transcript data from the remote transcription system based on the audio, and directing the transcript data to the second network interface for transmission to the communication device.
Abstract: A multi-channel direct-deposit assembly method is disclosed to high-throughput synthesize three-dimensional macroporous/mesoporous (3DMM) material array with precisely controlled composition, pore size, and pore structure. The macropore size of the synthesized 3DMM material is in the range of 50-1000 nm; the mesopore size of the synthesized 3DMM material is in the range of 1-50 nm. The surface area of the 3DMM material is in the range of 20-1000 m2/g. The 3DMM material array can be used for rapid synthesis, screening and manufacture of catalysts and nanosensors.
Abstract: A wireless end-user device is disclosed. One or more user inputs indicate that a user of the wireless end-user device authorizes the device to send a first file to a server over a network of a first network type, and that the user does not authorize the device to send a second file to the server over the network of the first type. Based on the one or more user inputs and a determination that the device is connected to the network of the first type, the device sends the first file, but not the second file, to the server over the network of the first network type. Upon detecting that the device is connected to a network of the second network type, the device sends the second file to the server over the network of the second network type.
Abstract: An example apparatus can comprise an emitter to emit radio frequency radiation, an absorber that changes temperature based on emissions from the emitter, and one or more sensors to measure a temperature difference between a sample and a reference coupled to the absorber.

Abstract: A reel suitable for bow fishing and the like provides a cowling covering a reel with a wide opening to reduce frictional restraint on high-speed paying out of the line with the flight of the arrow. An optional guide arm may be used to minimize line diversion and hence friction during line payout while absorbing forces when the line is retracted permitting use of a lighter cowling design without loss of strength. A high torque bevel gear transmission and safety lighting is further provided.
Abstract: An example communication system includes remote units, each which includes one or more radio frequency (RF) units to exchange RF signals with mobile devices, with at least some of the RF signals including information destined for, or originating from, a mobile device. A controller is separated from the remote units by one or more networks. The controller is connected to an external network, and is for implementing a scheduler. The scheduler is for allocating resources for transmission of data representing the information, and is configured to override a pending hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) transmission on a HARQ process by scheduling a new HARQ transmission on the HARQ process.
Abstract: A routing platform for routing 4G and 5G mobile data traffic in a mobile core networks implementing Option-3 of 5G Non-Standalone deployment. The routing platform captures S6a Diameter messages sent between a Mobility Management Entity (MME) and a Home Subscriber Server (HSS) and examines the captured messages to determine whether a user equipment (UE) is configured for a 5G data connection. The routing platform intercepts a GTP Create-Session-Request message sent from a Serving Gateway (SGW) and determines whether the GTP message is associated with the UE previously determined to be configured for a 5G data connection. If the GTP message is associated with the UE configured for a 5G data connection, the GTP message is either sent to a dedicated 5G Packet Network Data Gateway (PGW) or the GTP message is modified so that a single PGW handling both 4G and 5G traffic can establish a 5G session for the UE.
