Abstract: Apparatus and methods to implement a technique for using voice input to control a network-enabled device. In one implementation, this feature allows the user to conveniently register and manage an IPTV device using voice input rather than employing a bulky remote control or a separate registration website.
Abstract: The invention relates to wireless repeater systems and methods. In embodiments, such systems and methods involve receiving a wireless transmission signal; and processing the wireless transmission signal using a digital signal processing facility (DSP); wherein the DSP is adapted to filter at least one sub-band of the wireless transmission signal using a digital bandpass filter.
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for stapling tissue. The apparatus includes an anvil and a trocar selectively coupled with the anvil. The anvil may have an inner opening and a plurality of staple pockets aligned around a surface of the anvil. The anvil may be inserted trans-orally through an esophagus prior to being coupled with the trocar. The trocar may include a shaft and a locking assembly. The locking assembly may secure the anvil in position relative to the trocar when the locking assembly is in the expanded position. The apparatus may also include an alignment assembly to align the staple pockets of the anvil relative to the apparatus. The apparatus may also include an introduction assembly to guide the anvil through the esophagus.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer readable mediums for managing fault tolerance. A method includes receiving a request to establish a pool of data storage for an application of a distributed computing system. The distributed computing system includes hardware storage nodes integrated with compute nodes. The method includes receiving a target level of fault tolerance for the pool of data storage. The method includes establishing the pool of data storage by specifying, for each hardware storage node, a mirror hardware storage node for mirroring data stored on the hardware storage node so that the hardware storage node and the mirror hardware storage node do not share one or more pieces of physical equipment as specified in a physical layout of the hardware storage nodes to meet the target level of fault tolerance.

Abstract: A system including a processor; and a memory having stored thereon computer program code that, when executed by the processor, controls the processor to: receive data indicative of a plurality of sequence diagrams; for each of the plurality of sequence diagrams, generate a corresponding architecture diagram by: identifying a plurality of participants within the sequence diagram, transforming each of the plurality of participants into a plurality of nodes, identifying a plurality of messages identifying at least one message participant, and transforming the identified plurality of messages by establishing a single edge between respective nodes of the plurality of nodes corresponding to message participants identified by one or more messages of the plurality of messages; and merge the corresponding architecture diagrams of each of the plurality of sequence diagrams to generate a master architecture diagram.

Abstract: A method for creation and review of media annotations allows creators to create different types of annotations to one or more media files of different types. Annotations are created in such a way that annotator's commands in making the annotations are also captured. Multiple creators may create annotations simultaneously and reviewers may review all the annotations in real time. Alternatively, multiple people may create annotations one by one and reviewers may review all the annotations created.

Abstract: An RFID system includes multiple antennas and uses amplitude and phase information of the RFID signals received by each antenna to determine the position of RFID tags in the vicinity. More than one antenna can receive the RFID signals during a single read cycle, enabling the RFID system to operate more quickly than a system that energizes antennas separately.

Abstract: A conferencing computing device, including memory storing one or more dispatch data structures. The conferencing computing device may further include a processor configured to receive a plurality of input packets at a port from a plurality of sender computing devices. Based on input packet data and the one or more dispatch data structures, for each input packet, the processor may to add that input packet to a queue of a transport provider bound to the port. The processor may transmit the plurality of input packets to a plurality of application program instances and instantiate a respective plurality of concurrent multipoint conferencing sessions. The processor may transmit a plurality of output packets from the plurality of application program instances to a plurality of recipient computing devices. The plurality of output packets may be multiplexed through the port and each have a multiplexed local socket address of the port.

Abstract: A system and method are described for storing program code and data within an application hosting center. For example, one embodiment of a computer-implemented method comprises: subdividing program code and/or data used to execute an online application into a first type and a second type; storing program code and data of the first type in a first type of memory, the first type of memory providing relatively low latency memory access; storing program code and data of the second type in a second type of memory, the second type of memory providing relatively higher latency memory access compared to the first type of memory; retrieving program code and data from the first memory and the second memory in response to a client request to execute an online application; and transmitting a streaming interactive video stream representing images generated by the application to the client.
Abstract: A suturing device includes an elongate body, a needle holder, an actuator, a needle and a needle retainer. The needle holder extends away from a distal end portion or is provided as part of the distal end portion of the elongate body. The needle holder includes a distal end section having a distal-most tip, and defines a needle passage and a distal opening adjacent the distal-most tip. The actuator is operable between a first operating position and a second operating position. Movement of the actuator from the first operating position toward the second operating position moves the needle in an advance direction. The needle is in the needle passage. The needle retainer engages the needle holder and the needle when the actuator is in the first operating position and inhibits movement of the needle toward distal opening while the actuator is in the first operating position.

Abstract: An item holder includes a receiving well with an upper opening. First and second air bladders are disposed in the receiving well. Upper portions of outer casings of the air bladders are substantially flush with the upper opening of the receiving well when the air bladders are in an inflated condition. Also, the abutment portions abut one another along an abutment seam when the air bladders are in an inflated condition. A sensor may be sued to detect the receiving of an item in the receiving well. Valves assemblies are opened as the sensors detect an item being received in the receiving well. The item compresses a filler material disposed within the air bladders as the item is received in the receiving well. When the item is removed from the receiving well, the filler material expands to inflate the air bladders to the at-rest position.

Abstract: A medication delivery device—preferably designed and configured to be implantable for use inside of a human body—secures excess tubing of a catheter to a pump housing. The tubing is received and retained in channels, whereby an excess extent of the catheter that is unneeded can be safely stored in an out-of-the-way position. The channels are defined in and integrally formed with the pump housing. Alternatively, the channels are defined in a catheter retention member that clips onto other otherwise attaches to the pump housing. In the alternative design, the catheter retention member may be provided separately from or provided with the pump and catheter.
