Abstract: A controller-executed method for conditioning a membrane electrode assembly (MEA) in a fuel cell for use in a fuel cell stack includes humidifying a fuel inlet to the stack to a threshold relative humidity level, and maintaining a current density and cell voltage of the fuel cell at a calibrated current density level and hold voltage level, respectively, via the controller in at least one voltage recovery stage. The recovery stage has a predetermined voltage recovery duration. The method includes measuring the cell voltage after completing the predetermined voltage recovery duration, and executing a control action with respect to the fuel cell or fuel cell stack responsive to the measured cell voltage exceeding a target voltage, including recording a diagnostic code via the controller indicative of successful conditioning of the MEA. A fuel cell system includes the fuel cell stack and controller.

Abstract: The invention is an electrical and mechanical roof underlayment which provides electrical and mechanical connection of solar shingles to a roof. The underlayment simplifies the installation of solar shingles allowing the shingles to be installed and connected together in the same step. The underlayment includes a membrane which has embedded electrical conductors and electrical connectors that provides an electrical connecting system extending to an electrical circuit. The membrane further has embedded mechanical members with mechanical connectors that secure the shingles to the membrane. The membrane is structurally attached to a roof surface. The structural attachment may be an adhesive attachment. Solar shingles are connected to the membrane by an integral clasping mechanism that mechanically and electrically connects the shingles to the membrane. No external wiring, connectors or devices are required to make the electrical connection between the shingles and the membrane.

Abstract: Fault tolerant and fault detecting multi-threaded processors are described. Instructions from a program are executed by both a master thread and a slave thread and execution of the master thread is prioritized. If the master thread stalls or reaches a memory write after having executed a sequence of instructions, the slave thread executes a corresponding sequence of instructions, where at least the first and last instructions in the sequence are the same as the sequence executed by the master thread. When the slave thread reaches the point at which execution of the master thread stopped, the contents of register banks for both the threads are compared, and if they are the same, execution by the master thread is allowed to continue, and any buffered speculative writes are committed to the memory system.
Abstract: A control system for delivering energy waveform radiation to influence in vivo tissue is described. For the system, the energy waveform radiation is generated by a radiation unit and is directed along a pathway to the tissue and a registration unit is provided to identify a start place relative to the in vivo tissue. Also, a monitor is provided to compare the start place with a base reference to measure an error signal between the start place and base reference. With this measured error signal, a controller operates the radiation unit using input from the monitor to effectively attain and maintain a zero error signal. More specifically, the controller can provide operational parameter inputs to the radiation unit for configuring the waveform radiation including a radiation frequency, f, and a volume intensity level, v, for the radiation and an exposure time interval, ti.

Abstract: Systems and methods for image retargeting are provided. Image data may be acquired that includes motion capture data indicative of motion of a plurality of markers disposed on a surface of a first subject. Each of the markers may be associated with a respective location on the first subject. A plurality of blendshapes may be calculated for the motion capture data based on a configuration of the markers. An error function may be identified for the plurality of blendshapes, and it may be determined that the plurality of blendshapes can be used to retarget a second subject based on the error function. The plurality of blendshapes may then be applied to a second subject to generate a new animation.
