Abstract: Implementations are provided for improved robot reachability maps. Multiple reachability maps for a robot may be indexed on a distance of an end effector from a plane and a tilt of the end effector. Each reachability map may include multiple cells, each representing a base pose of the robot. A target pose of the end effector may be used to determine a target distance/tilt, which is used to select a given reachability map. A given cell of the given reachability map may be used to determine a first candidate set of joint parameters for the robot. In some implementations, one or more additional, neighboring cells of the plurality of cells may be used to determine additional candidate set(s) of joint parameters. A given set of joint parameters to be implemented to achieve the target pose of the end effector may be selected and used to operate the robot.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods for generating matching phrases based on user-defined criteria including a desired stress pattern of a phrase. The system may determine a stress pattern based on user-defined criteria including an auditory file of a melody, and use the determined stress pattern to generate a plurality of matching phrases that include the same stress pattern.
Abstract: For percutaneous minimally-invasive intervention in vessels originating from other tortuous vessels, such as the tortuous aortic arch, guide wires/catheters are used to enable procedural catheters to access the vessels where an interventional procedure is needed. Two new methods for fixing a stabilization wire/catheter and providing the needed tension and stabilization without a second percutaneous access are disclosed (1) using a micro-anchor and pin and (2) using a modified Fogarty Balloon. These methods are also usable for access to and treatment of peripheral embolisms in tortuous vessels as well as renal and other visceral interventions.
Abstract: A barbed suture including a body with barbs on the periphery, a pointed end, and an anchor at one end to resist movement of the suture in the direction of the pointed end is provided. One or more limbs on the anchor may be provided, which may be arcuate, of varying lengths, and of varying distribution about the periphery of the suture body. Other anchor designs are provided. Methods of placing single-directional and bi-directional barbed sutures to approximate the tissue on each side of a wound and to position and support tissue in the absence of a wound, as in cosmetic surgery, are provided, and may include terminal J-stitches or S-stitches. Methods of placement may be made with sharp, pointed ends, which may be needles, or insertion devices. Sinusoidal patterns of sutures that have amplitudes generally perpendicular to the resultant holding force of the suture are provided.

Abstract: A method is disclosed for recovering data, the method comprising: retrieving a mapping structure associated with a volume in a storage system, the mapping structure including a plurality of entries, each entry including a respective short hash digest of a data block stored in the volume and an identifier of a location where the data block is stored; generating a plurality of long hash digests, each of the long hash digests being generated based on a different one of a plurality of data blocks that are stored in the storage system; comparing each of the long hash digests to a short hash digest of a missing data block, and adding the long hash digest to a candidate list when the long hash digest matches the short hash digest of the missing data block; generating a filtered candidate based on the candidate list; and recovering the missing data.
Abstract: A surgical instrument comprising a first jaw, a second jaw, and a firing member is disclosed. The firing member comprises one or more cams configured to position the first jaw relative to the second jaw. In various instances, one of the cams is oriented at a non-parallel angle relative to another cam in order to reduce strain within the cams. In certain instances, at least one of the cams comprises a leading projection and a trailing projection positioned behind the leading projection which are configured to engage the same jaw. The ends of the leading projection and the trailing projection are not attached to one another and can move relative to one another. In some instances, one or more of the cams has a plastically deformable or wearable feature configured to facilitate multiple uses of the surgical instrument.

Abstract: A wireless device receives message(s) comprising configuration parameter(s) indicating reference signal(s) of a cell. The configuration parameter(s) may indicate one or more preambles for a beam failure recovery procedure. The configuration parameter(s) may indicate a time alignment timer of a timing advance group comprising the cell. The time alignment timer may start in response to receiving a timing advance command for the timing advance group. The beam failure recovery procedure may be initiated in response to detecting a beam failure of the cell. The beam failure of the cell may be detected based on the reference signal(s) of the cell. A preamble of the one or more preambles may be transmitted for the beam failure recovery procedure. The beam failure recovery procedure may be aborted in response to an expiry of the time alignment timer during the beam failure recovery procedure.
