Abstract: A system for securing an air conditioning unit to a building without the need for any alteration and/or damage to the building itself. The system includes a cross bar, an air conditioning unit support, and a strut. The arrangement of the components results in the cross bar applying an outward force to an interior surface of the building and strut applying an inward force to an exterior surface of the building in response to the downward force exerted on the air conditioning unit support. The sum of the forces applied on the surfaces of the building is sufficient to secure the air conditioning unit to the building.
Abstract: A system and method that that triggers actions or sets of actions within a software application executed on a mobile device based at least in part on location identifiers.
Abstract: An example magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) coil base apparatus for use with interchangeable attachable and detachable coil attachments is described. The coil base apparatus electrically and mechanically couples to different MRI coil attachments designed for imaging different body parts (e.g., ankles, knees, wrists, elbows, shoulders). The MRI coil base apparatus includes elements (e.g., channel, pre-amplifier, mixer, feed circuit, decoupling circuit) for controlling the coil attachment to transmit radio frequency (RF) energy that produces nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) in an object exposed to the RF energy. The coil attachment includes elements that transmit the RF energy and a copper trace that receives resulting NMR signals. The coil base apparatus may include a slide apparatus for repositioning the coil attachment in one axis when the coil attachment is coupled to the coil base apparatus or a pivot apparatus for rotating the coil attachment when it is coupled to the coil base apparatus.
Abstract: A catheter for measuring pressure in the urinary tract of a patient includes a catheter body having a proximal and distal end. A plurality of lumens is formed in the catheter body, and an adaptor is coupled to the proximal end of the catheter body. The adaptor includes a port for each lumen. A first pressure sensor, typically including a balloon, is fluidically coupled to a first lumen and is configured and positioned to measure pressure in a urethra of the patient. A second pressure sensor, also typically including a balloon, is fluidically coupled to a second lumen and is configured and positioned on the catheter body to measure pressure in a bladder of the patient. An expandable retention member, which may be coupled to a third lumen, is positioned on the catheter body between the first and second expandable pressure sensors so that the catheter body may be retained at a selected location in the urinary tract to properly position the fluid pressure sensors in the bladder and urethra, respectively.

Abstract: An apparatus controlling channel assignments for a shared access system is disclosed. The apparatus generates a first registration in a database that indicates that a first channel is assigned to a device and sends the identity of the first channel to the device. The device may use the first channel to communicate with other devices in the system. The apparatus may receive a query from the device indicating the first channel is encumbered. In response to the query, the apparatus may send the identity of a second channel to the device, generate a second registration in the database that indicates that the second channel is assigned to the device, and generate an amendment to the database indicating that the first channel is encumbered. The apparatus may then verify whether the first channel is encumbered and remove or keep the amendment in the database based on the verification.

Abstract: A battery system may include multiple battery cells having different chemistries. To achieve certain performance goals, voltage parameters for the battery system, such as cruising voltages and maximum voltages can be adjusted. These adjustments may, for example, direct charging currents to a lithium-ion battery to increase fuel economy or may direct charging currents away from a lithium-ion battery to increase its longevity. Methods for matching batteries having different chemistries based on their open circuit voltages are also discussed.
