Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer programs are provided for generating an interactive space. One method includes operations for associating a first device to a reference point in 3D space, and for calculating by the first device a position of the first device in the 3D space based on inertial information captured by the first device and utilizing dead reckoning. Further, the method includes operations for capturing images with a camera of the first device, and for identifying locations of one or more static features in the images. The position of the first device is corrected based on the identified locations of the one or more static features, and a view of an interactive scene is presented in a display of the first device, where the interactive scene is tied to the reference point and includes virtual objects.

Abstract: A method for managing container images in a container hosting environment, comprising a set of machine nodes for hosting container images, comprises the following steps. At a machine node of the set of machine nodes, at least one image layer of a container image comprising multiple image layers is identified for compaction. The identified image layer is compacted by merging data of the identified layer with data of another image layer of the container image. The data of the compacted image layer is transmitted to a backup store remote from the machine node for storage. The set of machine nodes and the backup store are implemented via processing devices operatively coupled via a communication network to form the container hosting environment. The compacted image layer may then be recovered from the backup store.

Abstract: Example embodiments relate to parallelizing structured query language (SQL) on distributed file systems. In example embodiments, a subquery of a distributed file system is received from a query engine, where the subquery is one of multiple subqueries that are scheduled to execute on a cluster of server nodes. At this stage, a user defined function that comprises local, role-based functionality is executed, where the partitioned magic table triggers parallel execution of the user defined function. The execution of the UDF determines a sequence number based on a quantity of the cluster of server nodes and retrieve nonconsecutive chunks from a file of the distributed file system, where each of the nonconsecutive chunks is offset by the sequence number.

Abstract: Controlling device security includes obtaining a set of device activity data indicating current device activity on a device and a set of user activity data indicating a current activity state of one or more legitimate users of the device. It is determined whether the indicated current activity state of the users indicates that a legitimate user is in an active state on the device, or that none of the legitimate users is in an active state on the device. A statistical fit of the indicated current device activity on the device, with the indicated current activity state of the one or more legitimate users, is determined, by a comparison with at least one of the models that are generated via supervised learning. A security alert action may be initiated, based on a result of the determination of the statistical fit indicating a compromised state of the device.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and media for color palette extraction for videos are provided. In some embodiments, the method comprises: identifying, at a server, a frame of a video content item; clustering pixels of the frame of the video content item based on a color of each of the pixels into a group of clusters; for each of a plurality of clusters in the group of clusters, determining an average color for the cluster; selecting a cluster of the plurality of clusters based on the average color of the cluster; determining a color palette corresponding to the frame of the video content item for one or more user interface elements in which the video content item is to be presented based on the average color of the selected cluster; and transmitting information indicating the color palette to a user device in response to a request to present the video content item.

Abstract: Context and social distance aware fast live people cards are described. A user context and/or a relevant person context may be determined in response to detecting a user interest in viewing contact information. The user context may include user's attributes such as organizational position, preferences, location, working hours, which application the user is employing, etc. Relevant person context may include context information (similar to the user's) for people within a predefined social distance such as the user's peers, supervisor(s), close friends, etc. Information associated with one or more persons of interest to the user may then be selected and retrieved from a cache storage at a server a productivity service to be provided to a client application for display to the user. Information to be stored in server cache for rapid retrieval may also be selected based on user and relevant person context using observed user behavior.

Abstract: An aqueous conversion coating solution comprises a trivalent chromium compound, a zirconate compound, and a dye compound. The trivalent chromium compound can comprise trivalent chromium compounds such as trivalent chromium sulfate. The dye compound can comprise an azo dye, a chromium complex dye, an anthraquinoid dye, and/or a methine dye. The zirconate compound can comprise alkali metal hexafluorozirconate compounds. The conversion coating solution can comprise a phosphorous compound such as an organic amino-phosphonic acid compound. The conversion coating solution can be formed by mixing a dye additive containing the dye with a trivalent chromium conversion coating solution that does not contain a dye. The conversion coating solution can be used to treat metal substrates comprising aluminum, magnesium, and/or zinc.

Abstract: A system and method for determining the fill volume of a fluid chamber includes a fluid injector, at least one fluid chamber in fluid communication with the fluid injector, one or more sensors positioned relative to the at least one fluid chamber and configured to detect a position of a liquid-gas interface of the fluid contained in the at least one fluid chamber, and at least one processor in communication with the sensors and the fluid injector, and configured to: determine the position of the liquid-gas interface of the fluid, calculate the volume of fluid in the at least one fluid chamber based on the position of the liquid-gas interface, and at least one of: i) display the volume of the fluid; ii) enable the fluid injector to perform an action; and iii) disable the fluid injector from performing the action.

Abstract: A control system and method determine an energy demand associated with delivery of cargo in a trip. The energy demand represents how much electric energy is needed to move cargo vehicles that carry the cargo through the trip. Locations of energy tenders and states of charge of the energy tenders are determined. A schedule for the cargo vehicles to deliver the cargo to a delivery location within a delivery time slot is determined. This schedule is determined based on the energy demand, the locations of the energy tenders, and the states of charge of the energy tenders. The system and method direct which of the energy tenders that the cargo vehicles are to couple with, be powered by, and move with for powering the cargo along routes to the delivery location of the trip within the designated time slot.

Abstract: Configurations for sharing an instance of an executing process for a plug-in based on a session and a cookie data store associated with the session are disclosed. A cookie data store can be associated with a tab running in a corresponding security mode. By way of example, instead of initiating a new process for the plug-in in a new tab, the subject technology can first determine whether a previous tab is running an instance of a plug-in process. If this is the case, the subject technology can then determine whether the previous tab is running in the same security mode (e.g., protected or unprotected) as the new tab. The subject technology then shares the existing plug-in process in the previous tab without instantiating a new plug-in process in the new tab.

Abstract: An opposing impeller arrangement, for using in an opposed impeller pump, features a combination of a stage 1 impeller arrangement and a stage 2 impeller arrangement having opposing impellers and different impeller and wear ring arrangements. The stage 1 impeller arrangement may include a stage 1 impeller and a stage 1 wear ring, and be configured to receive an input fluid flow and a pump stage 1 fluid flow. The stage 2 impeller arrangement may include a stage 2 impeller and a stage 2 wear ring configured to receive the pump stage 1 fluid flow and provide a pump stage 2 fluid flow, and may also include a stage 2 wear ring undercut configured between the stage 2 impeller and the stage 2 wear ring to offset generated axial thrust in the opposing impeller pump, based upon the different impeller and wear ring arrangements.

Abstract: A clamp ring assembly for use in a can bottom forming assembly comprising a clamp ring retainer, a clamp ring having a biasing assembly and an inner dome die. The clamp ring floats with respect to the clamp ring retainer to accommodate off-center contact by the punch and to center the punch at the end of the ram stroke. A slightly conically shaped inner dome die structure or dome plug may be provided to further center the punch at the end of the ram stroke.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides methods of treating a patient with infliximab or alternative therapies to reduce the risk of developing, and/or severity of, an adverse drug reaction such as drug-induced liver injury. The methods include identifying patients at risk for developing DILI by determining the presence or absence of one or more HLA alleles in the patients.

Abstract: A near-eye display includes a display assembly, an eye tracking system, and a multifocal module. The display assembly emits image light at a particular focal distance in accordance with multifocal instructions. The display assembly includes focal adjustment lenses and waveguide displays arranged in optical series and configured to emit light in accordance with the multifocal instructions. Different combinations of focal adjustment lenses are associated with different focal distances. Each waveguide display is separated from one or more adjacent waveguide displays by one or more of the plurality of focal adjustment lenses, and is associated with a unique combination of one or more of the focal adjustment lenses and a corresponding focal distance. The eye tracking system determines eye tracking information for a user's eye. The multifocal module generates the multifocal instructions based on the eye tracking information and provides the multifocal instructions to the display assembly.

The method also includes communicating the data from the sensors to a console videogame system that is proximate to the location, and graphically representing, in a videogame displayed on a display device, performance by the human player, the performance being affected by the captured data, the representation of performance by the human player being compared against a standard of performance.

The bone screw may comprise a trailing end portion with a plurality of lateral bores (120). The augmentation sleeve may comprise a leading end portion which is adapted to be coupled to the trailing end portion of the bone screw, and a lateral opening (220) at the leading end. The augmentation sleeve may be adapted to guide an augmentation tool to the trailing end portion of the bone screw and to the leading end portion of the augmentation sleeve so that the trailing end portion of the bone screw may be augmented by pressing augmentation material through the plurality of lateral bores at the trailing end portion of the bone screw and further through the lateral opening of the augmentation sleeve into the bone at the trailing end of the bone screw, or other implant. After the augmentation of the trailing end portion of the bone screw, the augmentation sleeve may be removed.

Abstract: Document version discoverability and persistence are provided. A version history of a document includes snapshots of the document as it is created and edited over time. When a version history for a document is invoked, a list of the previous versions of the document is generated for display. Certain versions may be more important to a user. Upon selection of a version, an option to append identification metadata to the selected version is displayed. Received text input is appended to the version of interest, and stored as identification metadata. When a user subsequently selects to view the version history of the document, the identification metadata are displayed with the version of interest, enabling the user to quickly and easily identify the version of interest. Additionally, the version of interest is prioritized, ensuring that it is persisted and not purged when older versions are removed from storage.
