Abstract: A method for automated retrieval of performance data and incident resolution based on an incident report in a telecommunications carrier network comprising a radio access network. The incident report is delayed relative to the retrieved performance data, and the method includes receiving an incident report based on first data associated with a first cell site, where the first data is associated with a first time; querying the first cell site for performance data of the first cell site responsive to the incident report; receiving performance data from the first cell site responsive to the query, where the performance data is associated with a second time that is later than the first time; and implementing a control response at the first cell site responsive to the received performance data, where the control response is to resolve an incident indicated by the incident report.
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for improved determination of state of health (SoH) of a battery of a device can include determining that the device is in a charging state such that a charge of the battery is increased over a charge procedure; determining that a state of charge (SoC) metric of the battery reported by a battery gauge system has increased by a fixed SoC interval; determining a charge time interval over which the SoC metric of the battery has increased by the fixed SoC interval; and determining a SoH metric indicative of the SoH of the battery based at least in part on the charge time interval; wherein determining the SoH metric is based at least in part on a known relationship between a reference time interval representative of time required to increase a reference battery at full SoH by the fixed SoC interval and the charge time interval.
Abstract: A method for adjusting state of charge (SOC) limits aboard a motor vehicle having a propulsion battery pack includes receiving a pre-drive information set via a host computer and identifying, from the pre-drive information set, a probability that the motor vehicle is about to embark on a road trip. The road trip is a drive event in which the motor vehicle will travel outside of a predetermined area. The method further includes expanding the SOC limits of the propulsion battery pack when the motor vehicle is about to embark on the road trip, such that a total SOC window of the propulsion battery pack is increased for a duration of the road trip.
Abstract: A method of simulating physics in a virtual worlds system includes: instantiating a multi-user virtual environment; selecting a plurality of physics hosts from a plurality of client devices based on predefined selection criteria; obtaining a request to modify an object within the multi-user virtual environment; in response to obtaining the request to modify the object, providing the request to the plurality of hosts and instructions to determine a candidate subsequent state of the object; obtaining a plurality of candidate subsequent states of the object, including a respective candidate subsequent state from each of the plurality of physics hosts; determining a subsequent state of the object based on the plurality of candidate subsequent states of the object; and providing the subsequent state of the object to the plurality of client devices and instructions to update their versions of the multi-user virtual environment based on the subsequent state of the object.
Abstract: An electronic transaction verification system for use with transaction tokens such as checks, credit cards, debit cards, and smart cards that gathers and transmits information about the transaction token and biometric data. Customers can be enrolled in the system by receiving customer information that includes at least a biometric datum, associating the received customer information with a transaction instrument issued to the customers and storing the received customer information and the issued transaction instrument information in a database for future reference.

Abstract: Systems and methods for monitoring a cheesemaking process, and for identifying certain stages of the process, are disclosed. The system includes a sonic sensor, along with a processor that will receive, from the sonic sensor, a signal that is indicative of a speed of sound in a material that is being processed in the cheesemaking process. The processor will use the speed of sound to identify a cut point in the cheesemaking process. The processor will generate a signal when the cut point is reached. Optionally, before this happens the processor also may use the speed of sound to identify a flocculation point in the cheesemaking process.

Abstract: Some embodiments provide a novel method for deploying different virtual networks over several public cloud datacenters for different entities. For each entity, the method (1) identifies a set of public cloud datacenters of one or more public cloud providers to connect a set of machines of the entity, (2) deploys managed forwarding nodes (MFNs) for the entity in the identified set of public cloud datacenters, and then (3) configures the MFNs to implement a virtual network that connects the entity's set of machines across its identified set of public cloud datacenters. In some embodiments, the method identifies the set of public cloud datacenters for an entity by receiving input from the entity's network administrator. In some embodiments, this input specifies the public cloud providers to use and/or the public cloud regions in which the virtual network should be defined. Conjunctively, or alternatively, this input in some embodiments specifies actual public cloud datacenters to use.
