Abstract: A battery and cooling device system comprising a thermal battery and a cooling device including a boiler, a condenser, a vapor tube, a reaction container, and a siphon. The boiler boils a solvent via heat drawn from the battery. The condenser condenses the vaporized solvent. The vapor tube connects the boiler to the reaction container so that the vaporized solvent travels through the vapor tube from the boiler into the condenser. The reaction container receives the liquidated solvent from the condenser so that the liquidated solvent interacts with a solute in the reaction container to effect an endothermic reaction to further draw heat from the battery. The siphon connects the reaction container to the boiler and drains the liquid solvent from the reaction container into the boiler once a predetermined amount of liquid solvent fills the reaction container.

Abstract: A gas sensor network system provides near real-time monitoring of fugitive emissions of VOC compounds in chemical plants and facilities. The present disclosure provides a sensor placement method which determines where to place sensors within a facility. The sensor placement method includes obtaining plant layout, gas composition, meteorological conditions and/or other types of information regarding a facility, determining the types of gas and ancillary sensors needed, and generating the minimum detection distances required based on the sensitivities of the sensors to the gas compounds involved. And, then calculating the minimal number of sensors required for each sensor type with optimized sensor locations to ensure best coverage of potentially leaking components within the facility.

Abstract: An agricultural applicator system is provided herein that includes a boom assembly and one or more nozzles positioned along the boom assembly. The one or more nozzles are configured to selectively dispense an agricultural product therefrom. A sensor is operably coupled with the boom assembly and is configured to capture data associated with one or more application variables. A controller is commutatively coupled to the sensor and includes a processor and associated memory. The memory stores instructions that, when implemented by the processor, configure the controller to receive the data associated with one or more application variables and provide a notification when the data associated with one or more application variables are outside of a range defined by a predefined lower and upper threshold. The controller may also pause an application operation of the agricultural product until the notification is acknowledged by an operator.

Abstract: A heat-activated pump removes waste heat from an electronic chip. An evaporator integrated into the chip packaging receives heat from the chip, converting a working fluid into vapor. Piping from the evaporator to a heat exchanger and back form a fluid circulation system. A pressure-control valve set for a specified electronic operating temperature allows vaporized working fluid to vent into a liquid-piston chamber, where it expands adiabatically, displacing pumped liquid in a pumping stage and expelling it from the chamber through a unidirectional valve to the shared heat exchanger(s). The heat exchanger(s) has a heatsink transferring heat away to a flow of cooler fluid. The pumped liquid returns in a suction cycle to the chamber through another unidirectional valve. An injector valve returns jets of condensed working fluid to the evaporator in successive brief spurts responsive to periodic pressure pulses in the chamber.

Abstract: A device for supporting a moveable load bearing component includes a base configured to be fixedly disposed at a vehicle support structure and located proximate to the load bearing component, the load bearing component configured to be moved between a first position and a second position. The device also includes a support member connected to the base and moveable between a retracted position and a load position, the support member supporting the load bearing component when the support member is in the load position. The support member is configured to automatically move between the retracted position and the load position based on the load bearing component being moved between the first position and the second position.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method that includes providing, by a first computing device, a request for identifying data, wherein the first computing device is accessible by a first user. The method may further include receiving, by a second computing device, the request provided by the first computing device, wherein the second computing device is accessible by a second user. Additionally, the method may include, transmitting, by the second user, identifying data to a location accessible by the first computing device, wherein the identifying data is transmitted to the location based on an address provided by the first user. The method may yet further include accessing, by the first user, the identifying data transmitted by the second user; and validating, by the first user, the identifying data provided by the second user in response to accessing the identifying data.

Abstract: A user inquiry funnel system and method that enables an individual to submit an inquiry that is analyzed and sent to a specific group of individuals involved in a relevant and specific industry to determine whether they can provide an answer. A specific user inquiry funneling mechanism is deployed that parses the inquiry into multiple individual words and maps them against tags and variants thereof to determine whether there is a matching between any ones of the tags and variants thereof with any ones of the individual words. Based on the mapping results, a listing of matching tags and variants is produced that facilitates the identifying of responding users that are associated with any ones of the matching tags and variants thereof and that have provided one or more pre-defined replies. This allows for establishing of a communication between the inquiring user and one or more responding users.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for providing context-aware selection and recommendation of applications and services on a mobile device. The selection of the preferred applications is based on the context of the user and the context of the applications. A comparison engine related to a recommendation module performs a similarity computation between context attribute vectors of the user and the applications. Based on the similarity computation, a rank-order is produced that determines in what order the application icons should be presented to the user. A digital wallet is also disclosed that maintains the reward points awarded to the user as crypto/virtual tokens based on the instant principles. Unlike prevailing techniques, the reward points are awarded in a context-aware manner after reconciling the conflicting or contradictory usage habits of the user.

Abstract: Systems and methods for operating a driveline of a hybrid vehicle are presented. In one example, torque capacity of a driveline disconnect is coordinated with torque control of an electric machine immediately following engine starting. The electric machine and the driveline disconnect clutch may assist starting of an engine, or alternatively, the engine may be started via a starter motor.

Abstract: Various embodiments include apparatuses and methods enabling a wireless control apparatus for an LED array. In one example, a control apparatus includes a wireless module to receive a signal from a wireless control-device. The wireless signal may include signals related to a desired CCT value and a Duv value. A control unit is coupled to the wireless module to translate signals received from the wireless module. The control unit is also coupled to the LED array and to an LED driver. The control unit receive powers for the LED array from the LED driver and provides the power to the LED array in a manner based on the translated signals. A dimmer emulator is coupled to the control unit to provide one or more control signals to the LED driver. Other apparatuses and methods are described.

Abstract: Systems and methods are directed to monitoring and managing a health of a content processing data ingestion pipeline. In example embodiments, a plurality of content elements are ingested from a source to a destination through the ingestion pipeline, whereby the ingestion pipeline comprises a plurality of nodes between the source and the destination. A data management system detects a gap in the ingestion pipeline. The gap indicates a difference associated with a content element of the plurality of content elements between a first node and a second node of the ingestion pipeline. In response to detecting the gap, the data management system automatically triggers reingesting of the content element from the first node. The data management system also determines, based on monitoring of the ingestion pipeline, the health of the ingestion pipeline and provides a dashboard that graphically represents the health.

Abstract: An optical assembly includes a Fresnel lens and a diffractive optical element. The Fresnel lens includes a high-refractive-index material having a refractive index greater than 1.9. The diffractive optical element is optically coupled with the Fresnel lens to compensate for chromatic aberration caused by the Fresnel lens. A method for imaging light with the optical assembly is also disclosed.
