Abstract: A vehicle includes ignition controls operable between an active state and an inactive state and a storage compartment operable between a locked state and an unlocked state. An electronic control unit (ECU) is configured to detect one of the active state and the inactive state of the ignition controls and includes data processing hardware and memory hardware that stores a security monitoring system. The security monitoring system includes an alarm and a security monitoring application that is configured to execute a delay mode including a tiered proactive measure. The delay mode is configured to delay translation of the storage compartment from the locked state to the unlocked state in response to a security event.

Abstract: A mixture includes a nickel-containing ore and/or concentrate thereof and an extraction composition including a fermentation broth obtained from an Aspergillus species (spp.), Acetobacter spp., Bacillus spp., Propionibacterium spp., Corynebacterium spp., Rhizopus spp., Clostridium spp., Fusobacterium spp., Pseudomonas spp., Bifidobacterium spp., Saccharomyces spp., Enterobacter spp., Escherichia spp., among others. The extraction composition is configured to selectively solubilize one or more components, such as a magnesium component from the nickel-containing ore and/or concentrate thereof. A method for extracting a metal from a nickel-containing ore and/or concentrate includes selectively solubilizing a magnesium component from the nickel-containing ore and/or concentrate thereof into an extraction composition including the fermentation broth.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are gutter guard systems arranged to efficiently manage the flow of rainwater across the system and prevent the matting of debris onto the system. In one exemplary embodiment, a gutter guard system includes a main body and a screen covering the main body. The gutter guard assembly further includes a front receiver and a rear receiver that secure the screen to the main body. The screen includes at least one feature arranged to manage the flowrate of rainwater across the gutter guard system. In one example, the feature is a raised rounded area that slows the flowrate of rainwater across the gutter guard system. In another embodiment, the screen includes an upwardly angled section and a transition section. Once assembled and installed, the transition section and optionally the angled section forms hurdles that slows the flowrate of rainwater across the gutter guard system.

Abstract: A system and method of generating trackable frames from a broadcast video feed are provided herein. A computing system retrieves a broadcast video feed for a sporting event. The broadcast video feed includes a plurality of video frames. The computing system generates a set of frames for classification using a principal component analysis model. The set of frames are a subset of the plurality of video frames. The computing system partitions each frame of the set of frames into a plurality of clusters. The computing system classifies each frame of the plurality of frames as trackable or untrackable. Trackable frames capture a unified view of the sporting event. The computing system compares each cluster to a predetermined threshold to determine whether each cluster comprises at least a threshold number of trackable frames. The computing system classifies each cluster that includes at least the threshold number of trackable frames as trackable.

Abstract: A system including one or more processors and one or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing computing instructions, that when executed on the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations including: obtaining triangle data of a 3D model of an item; generating a first mask texture of the 3D model based on the triangle data; generating a second mask texture of the 3D model larger than the first mask texture by extruding the triangle data; and rendering a 3D outline mesh onto an image of the 3D model to highlight the 3D model, such that the 3D outline mesh subtracts the first mask texture for the second mask texture. Abstract: The present application describes systems and methods for filtering of malicious domain name system (DNS) queries. A DNS filter inspects a DNS query and drops the DNS query if the DNS query is deemed invalid. The DNS filter allows or drops the DNS query based on a set of rules. The set of rules includes one or more criteria for the validity or invalidity one or more DNS query attributes. The DNS filter logs the dropped DNS queries and provides them to the security analysis service for further investigation. In some examples, the DNS filter runs in a container or a virtual machine (VM) on the same system as the DNS server, or on a separate system in-line with the DNS servers.

Abstract: Methods and systems for text messaging-based self-service authentication in absence of a physical authentication token. In some aspects, the system receives, from a mobile device, a first text message indicating a request for account access in absence of the physical authentication token, in which the mobile device is operating on a mobile network and associated with a user digital identifier relating to the mobile network. The system transmits, to the mobile device, a second text message including a link to a webpage for account access in absence of the physical authentication token; determines, based on mobile device information associated with the mobile device and the user digital identifier, whether to authenticate the request; and in response to authenticating the request, provides a temporary machine-readable code associated with the user account. The temporary machine-readable code may allow a third party to access the user account by scanning the temporary machine-readable code.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is an image sensor package including a printed circuit board, an image sensor electrically coupled to the printed circuit board, a sealing configuration coupled to a front face of the printed circuit board via a first gasket, and a base coupled to a back face of the printed circuit board via a second gasket. Electronic components embedded on the back face of the printed circuit board align with and connect to mating pads surrounding the image sensor on the front face of the printed circuit board. Wire bonds electrically connect the image sensor to the mating pads and the electronic components. The sealing configuration includes a cover attached to a frame surrounding the image sensor. A gap separates the image sensor from abutting the surrounding printed circuit board, which is coupled to the image sensor via the base.

Abstract: In an aspect, an electronic device can include a substrate, a semiconductor layer overlying the substrate and including a mesa adjacent to a trench, and a doped region within the semiconductor layer. The doped region extends across an entire width of the mesa and contacts the lowermost point of the trench. A charge pocket can be located between an elevation of the peak concentration of the doped region and an elevation of the upper surface of the substrate. In another aspect, a process includes patterning a semiconductor layer to define a trench, forming a sacrificial layer within the trench, removing the sacrificial layer from a bottom of the trench, doping a portion of the semiconductor layer that is along the bottom of the trench while a remaining portion of the sacrificial layer is along a sidewall of the trench.

Abstract: A multi-beam solid-state luminaire including a plurality of solid-state lamps and a plurality of beam forming optics including a first group of beam forming optics and a second group of beam forming optics. In some embodiments, the beam forming optics may be arranged in a pattern having a center, and one or more center beam forming optics of the first group may be positioned at the center of the pattern. In some embodiments, luminaire may include a first beamwidth lens positioned over the first group of beam forming optics and a second beamwidth lens positioned over the second group of beam forming optics. The beamwidth lenses may emit light from the solid-state lamps having different respective beamwidths. The luminaire may provide a decorative flame-like pattern on a target surface.

Abstract: An LED light includes a housing that includes a bulb shaped upper end extending from a nonconductive threaded lower end. The interior of the housing has a charging port extending from the threaded lower end. A battery enclosure is electrically coupled to the charging port. A first PCB board is positioned within upper end. A power circuit is formed on the first PCB board and is electrically coupled to the battery enclosure to provide DC power to the first PCB board. A second PCB board is positioned within upper end of the housing; stacked over the first PCB board. The first PCB board is electrically connected to the second PCB board. A plurality of LEDs are arranged on the second PCB board to direct light from a distal end of the upper end of the housing in response to receiving a control signal and power from the second PCB board.

Abstract: In an embodiment, a method automatically determines a networked data center architecture. In the method, a database describing capabilities of a data center provider is assembled. The database describes capabilities of a plurality of data centers of the data center provider. A specification of requirements for the networked data center architecture is received. The specification describes data processing and connectivity requirements of a customer of a data center provider. The database is searched to determine a solution including a plurality of connections and data center that satisfy the specification. Based on the searching, the solution is output as a recommendation to provide the networked data center architecture. In another embodiment, options for a networked data center architecture are visualized. In yet another embodiment, API calls are made to provision the networked data center architecture.

Abstract: A crop processing roll has the outer cylindrical surface thereof hardened differently at selected areas along the axial length of the crop processing roll. Typically, the high wear areas on at least one end of the crop processing roll have higher levels of hardening, while the low wear area at the central portion of the roll has a lesser level of hardening. The preferable system for hardening is a High Velocity Air Fuel system in which a powdered carbide and metal is mixed in a combustion chamber with air and fuel before applied through an injection gun at different flow rates to selected areas on the crop processing roll. Alternatively, the crop processing roll can be segmented with various segments having different levels of surface hardening, which can be done by conventional heat treating, electroplating or HVAF application of material, and assembled as appropriate to position hardened areas where needed.
