Abstract: A steering wheel actuator is attached to a steering wheel column. The steering wheel actuator includes a gear assembly for turning a steering wheel on the steering wheel column, a motor for rotating the gear assembly, and an enclosure. A control system in the enclosure controls the motor to automatically steer the vehicle. The control system may receive global navigation satellite system (GNSS) signals from a GNSS antenna and GNSS receiver located in the enclosure and automatically steer the vehicle based on the GNSS signals. The control system also may receive inertial measurement unit (IMU) signals from an IMU located in the enclosure and automatically steer the vehicle based on the IMU signals. The control system also may receive user input signals from a user interface, and automatically steer the vehicle based on the user input signals.

Abstract: A turret assembly rotatably mountable to a container sealing system. The turret assembly includes an annular turret having a plurality of arcuate container pockets arrayed about an outer periphery of the turret and an annular chamber located radially inward of the outer periphery of the turret, and a hub removably secured within the annular chamber of the turret, wherein the hub is adapted to be rotatably secured to the container sealing system. A turret system for use with a can seamer is also provided, and includes two or more annular turrets, and a hub removably securable within the annular chamber of the two or more annular turrets for selectively mounting the annular turrets to the hub and the can seamer.

Abstract: Processing circuitry receives coded information of a current block indicative of applying LIC on the current block according to at least a first reference block in a first reference picture. The processing circuitry determines, for a sample in the current block, at least a first reference sample in the first reference block, the first reference sample is co-located to the sample in the current block. The processing circuitry calculates a weighted sum of a plurality of terms and an offset for the LIC according to a plurality of parameter values for a plurality of parameters used in the LIC, and reconstructs the sample accordingly. The plurality of parameter values includes at least a first weighting value for a first weighting that is applied to a non-linear term of the first reference sample of a kth power, k is a power index value and is not equal to 1.

Abstract: Apparatus and associated methods relate to automatically generate an interactive display for event scheduling based on a maximum expected wait time at a user selected trigger time. In an illustrative example a central orchestration engine (COE) may generate, in response to a request for service with a maximum wait tolerance (MOT) from a service seeking entity (SSE), a display of available time slots for the requested service. The COE may, for example, generate an array of service providers (SPs) as a function of a geofence filter. For each SP, the COE may generate an expected wait time (EWT) based on an anticipated service flow at the SP. The COE may, for example, select and display available time slots of the SPs with the EWT less than the MOT. Various embodiments may, for example, advantageously present an interactive display of available time slots at one or more SPs for selection.

Abstract: Disclosed is a location tracking system and associated methods for precisely locating a target device with a recipient device via different forms of location tracking and augmented reality. The recipient device receives a first position of the target device over a data network. The recipient device is moved according to the first position until the target device is in Ultra-WideBand (“UWB”) signaling range of the recipient device. The recipient device then measures a distance and direction of the target device relative to the recipient device based on Time-of-Flight (“ToF”) measurements generated from the UWB signaling. The recipient device determines a second position of the target device based on the distance and direction of the target device, and generates an augmented reality view with a visual reference at a particular position in images of a captured scene that corresponds to the second position of the target device.

Abstract: In a general aspect, a power module includes a substrate having first, second and third patterned metal layers disposed on a surface of the substrate. The module also includes a first high-side transistor disposed on the first patterned metal layer, a second high-side transistor disposed on the first patterned metal layer, a first conductive clip electrically coupling the first high-side transistor with the second patterned metal layer, and a second conductive clip electrically coupling the second high-side transistor with the second patterned metal layer. The module further includes a first low-side transistor disposed on the second patterned metal layer, a second low-side transistor disposed on the second patterned metal layer, a third conductive clip electrically coupling the first low-side transistor with the third patterned metal layer, and a fourth conductive clip electrically coupling the second low-side transistor with the third patterned metal layer.

Abstract: A video bitstream comprising coding information of a current block in a current picture is received. The coding information indicates that the current block is coded by a flip mode in which locations of samples of the current block are adjusted within the current block. A reference block is determined from a plurality of candidate reference blocks in a reconstructed region of the current picture for the current block based on template matching (TM) costs. The TM costs indicate differences between a template of the current block and respective templates of the plurality of candidate reference blocks. A reconstruction block of the current block is determined based on the determined reference block. The current block is reconstructed by adjusting locations of samples of the reconstruction block within the reconstruction block based on the flip mode.

Abstract: An intelligent venue system and/or method operate by: transmitting a wireless beacon associated with a service location of a venue; detecting a client device at the venue, wherein the client device is detected in response to an automated reply signal generated by the client device in response to the wireless beacon; establishing an association between the client device with a transaction at the venue; wherein once the association is established, the client device emits feedback to the user of the client device indicating the association; and communicating with the client device to facilitate payment for the transaction based on payment information previously associated with the user.

Abstract: A method for remote identification of security threats in an imaged object including transmitting an initialization signal to a first threat detection scanner over a communication network, the first threat detection scanner being located at a separate physical location, receiving a ready-to-send signal from the first threat detection scanner, the ready-to-send signal including a storage location of a scan image generated by the first threat detection scanner for security inspection, receiving the scan image from the first threat detection scanner, transmitting, after receiving the scan image from the first threat detection scanner, a second initialization signal to a second threat detection scanner at the separate physical location, generating a threat detection report based on a rendering of the scan image, and transmitting the threat detection report to the first threat detection scanner.

Abstract: A chain binder to connect and apply tension to chains, straps, or the like used to secure cargo on any type of platform or vehicle. The chain binder includes a lever body; a first side portion; a second side portion; and gears that effectuate two modes of operation. Namely, a power driven mode of operation or a manual lever mode of operation. Rotations of the gears causes hooks or connectors, via movement of eye-bolts, toward each other to place tension in the chains or strap. Opposite rotations of the gears causes hooks or connectors, via movement of eye-bolts, away from each other to relax the chains or strap. If components are damages during use, they may be replaced on an as-needed basis to reduce operational cost of the chain binder since the entire binder does not need replaced when only one component fails or is damaged.

Abstract: A simulator apparatus for training medical professionals in various procedures involving the head, eye, larynx, and esophagus. The apparatus includes a head and neck model, an eye model, a cricothyroid model, and an esophagus model. The head and neck model is designed to be removably attached to the eye model, cricothyroid model, and esophagus model. The head and neck model simulates the human head, the eye model simulates the human eye, the cricothyroid model simulates the human larynx thyroid, and cricothyroid cartilage, and the esophagus model simulates the human esophagus. For training purposes, the models may be used individually without accompaniment of the other models, or in conjunction with one or more of the other models. The purpose of the simulator is to provide a user with a cost-effective, portable training simulator to practice performing procedures involving the human head, eye, larynx and cricothyroid muscle, and esophagus.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for passive collection of sperm having improved motility from a semen sample. The semen sample is contacted with on side of a porous barrier and a nutrient-containing media is contacted with the other side of the porous barrier. More robust sperm migrate from the semen sample through the porous barrier and are collected in a nutrient-containing media.

Abstract: A method includes receiving a sequence of acoustic frames as input to a multilingual automated speech recognition (ASR) model configured to recognize speech in a plurality of different supported languages and generating, by an audio encoder of the multilingual ASR, a higher order feature representation for a corresponding acoustic frame in the sequence of acoustic frames. The method also includes generating, by a language identification (LID) predictor of the multilingual ASR, a language prediction representation for a corresponding higher order feature representation. The method also includes generating, by a decoder of the multilingual ASR, a probability distribution over possible speech recognition results based on the corresponding higher order feature representation, a sequence of non-blank symbols, and a corresponding language prediction representation. The decoder includes monolingual output layer having a plurality of output nodes each sharing a plurality of language-specific wordpiece models.

Abstract: A process for determining the selection of filters and input samples is provided for scalable video coding. The process provides for re-sampling using video data obtained from an encoder or decoder process of a base layer (BL) in a multi-layer system to improve quality in Scalable High Efficiency Video Coding (SHVC). In order to provide better alignment between layers, it is proposed that reference layer offset adjustment parameters be signaled.
