Abstract: A method for using a patch for pain relief, and the patch are provided. The method includes determining a location corresponding to source of pain in a body, and disposing a patch including a reactive capacitance material at one of a location corresponding to source of pain or a location between location corresponding to source of pain and a brain. The patch is disposed adjacent to the surface of the body. The reactive the capacitance material comprises conductive particles dispersed in a binder so that at least a majority of the conductive particles are adjacent to, but do not touch, one another. The patch includes a first outer layer, a reactive capacitance layer, and a second outer layer. The reactive capacitance layer is disposed between the first outer layer and the second outer layer. The reactive capacitance layer is formed of the reactive capacitance material.

  • Patent number: 11963724
Abstract: This specification describes systems, methods, devices, and related techniques for optimizing 3D printed implants. A 3D network can collect medical images from an imaging device and create a 3D image of the damaged or malfunctioning body part. The 3D network allows a user to alter the 3D image to fix the damages or malfunctions and the 3D network, compares the altered 3D image to a historical database containing healthy patient's medical images, and provides recommendations to allow the user to further enhance the altered 3D image. The 3D network then performs a simulation on the enhanced 3D image to determine, if the 3D image was printed, if it will be successful or not. Once successful, the 3D image is printed using a 3D printer and the user tests the compatibility of the 3D printed object to determine if the implant or transplant would be successful.

  • Patent number: 11966049
Abstract: A near-eye display apparatus comprises a spatial light modulator illuminated by a directional backlight and a magnifying lens arranged to provide a magnified wide field of view image to an eye of a user. The directional backlight comprises an array of light sources and a stepped waveguide comprising a curved reflective end. Light propagates along the waveguide without loss and is reflected from the reflective end. The steps of the waveguide are arranged to provide a virtual optical window for each light source. The magnifying lens images the virtual optical window to a real pupil window in an eyebox. The real pupil window may be steered in response to the measured location of the user's pupil. High illumination efficiency is provided to the user in a thin form factor.

  • Patent number: 11968654
Abstract: In a (5G CBRS) network having a (CBSD) base station communicating with a (SAS) bandwidth manager via a cable modem (CM), the CM maintains a long timer and a short timer for each bandwidth allocation to the CBSD. When the CM receives a heartbeat message from the CBSD, the CM re-starts the long and short timers and transmits the heartbeat message to the SAS. When the short timer expires, the CM re-starts the short timer and transmits a copy of the stored heartbeat message to the SAS. When the long timer expires, the CM stops transmitting a copy of the stored heartbeat message to the SAS. In this way, the CM effectively extends the time limit before the SAS will de-allocate bandwidth from the CBSD to handle situations where the CBSD is temporarily unable to send heartbeat messages to the SAS even though the CBSD still needs the allocated bandwidth.

  • Patent number: 11968365
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide method and apparatus for video coding. In some examples, an apparatus includes receiving circuitry and processing circuitry. The processing circuitry decodes, from a coded video bitstream, a syntax element for an adjusted version of an initial quantization parameter (QP) value at a picture level for a picture. The adjusted version is in a range with an upper boundary that is changed with a maximum QP value. Then, the processing circuitry determines the initial QP value of a segment (such as a slice, a tile, a group of tiles and the like) in the picture based on the syntax element and determines a QP value for a block in the segment according to the initial QP value of the segment and adjustments associated with the block. Then, the processing circuitry performs an inverse quantization on quantized data of the block according to the determined QP value.
