Abstract: Various cannulated bone implants and methods of using the cannulated bone implant are disclosed. The cannulated bone implant can include a proximal portion, a proximal end, a distal portion, a distal end, a transition portion, a threaded portion, a finned portion and a central passage. The transition portion can comprise a bend positioned between the proximal portion and the distal portion. The threaded portion can be positioned along the proximal portion between the proximal end and the transition portion. The threaded portion can be configured to secure the implant into a bone of a patient. The finned portion can be positioned along the distal portion between the transition portion and the distal end. The finned portion can be configured to prevent migration and/or rotation of the implant in use. The central passage can extend linearly from the proximal end of the implant to the distal end of the implant.

Abstract: A custom message food press is provided. The device is a hand held debossing, embossing, and impressing device having culinary and other uses to impress or imprint names, messages, logos, artwork, and designs into or onto food or other substrates. The device includes an ejection panel configured to remove a plurality of impression elements from a peg board carrier plate. The carrier plate is configured to hold the plurality of impression elements in a particular set arrangement for impressing into or onto the food. A cleaning crate is configured to act as the base of the device by attaching everything together for cleaning and storage.

Abstract: A system for generating a secure communication channel interface, the system including a computing device configured to transmit, to a user client device, a configuration packet uniquely identifying the computing device, receive, from the user client device, a confirmation authentication for the configuration packet, initiate a secure communication channel interface with the user client device, establish a security baseline parameter within the secure communication channel interface, wherein establishing a security baseline parameter includes capturing a baseline audiovisual measurement using an audiovisual capture device, detect a change in the security baseline parameter by detecting a change in relation to a baseline user environment landmark, and execute a mitigation action to prevent a security breach.

Abstract: Techniques for controlling a solid precursor vapor source are provided. An example method disclosure includes providing a carrier gas to a precursor material in a sublimation vessel, such that the sublimation vessel includes an inlet area and an outlet area configured to enable the carrier gas to flow through the precursor material, and at least one thermal device configured to add or remove heat from the sublimation vessel, determining a sublimation temperature value and a delta temperature value based on the precursor material and the carrier gas, setting a first temperature in the sublimation vessel based on the sublimation temperature value and the delta temperature value, such that the first temperature is measured proximate to the inlet area, and setting a second temperature in the sublimation vessel based on the sublimation temperature value, such that the second temperature is measured proximate to the outlet area.

Abstract: The technology described herein protects the privacy and security of data stored in a knowledge graph (“graph”) by enforcing visibility policies when returning property information in response to a query or other attempt to extract property information from the graph and/or about the graph. The visibility policies may be stored with the object and used to prevent restricted properties from being extracted from the object, let alone the graph. The object-specific visibility policy may be stored in the storage layer of the knowledge-graph object with the object properties and content. Some implementations may include multiple visibility records for a single object. Together the visibility records form the object visibility policy. An object visibility policy may have a single visibility record or multiple visibility records.

Abstract: An electronic apparatus performs a method of real time simulation of physical visual effect on one or more Graphics Processing Units (GPUs). The method includes a plurality of time steps. Each of the time steps includes: building up a mapping between particles and background grid blocks; sorting the particles to a level of granularity; transferring momenta and masses of the particles to grid nodes on the background grid blocks to compute forces on the grid nodes; updating velocities and resolving collisions from the computed forces on the grid nodes; and applying the updated velocities back to the particles from the grid nodes and advecting the particles. In some embodiments, the frequency of building up and sorting is reduced compared with the frequency of transferring, updating, and applying in the plurality of time steps.

Abstract: A method of coupling components of a catheter pump assembly includes providing an elongate polymeric tubular body having a proximal end and a distal end, and also providing a metallic tubular body having a proximal portion and a distal portion. The method further includes positioning a mechanical interface having a first interface zone and a second interface zone such that the first interface zone is disposed over a portion of the elongate polymeric tubular body adjacent to the distal end thereof. The method also includes flowing the polymer into the first interface zone, whereby the elongate polymeric tubular body becomes joined with the first interface zone of the mechanical interface, and coupling the metallic tubular body with the second interface zone of the mechanical interface.

Abstract: A trailer is disclosed which includes a first door with a first hinge configured to allow the first door to operate between an open position and a closed position, and a second door on the opposing side of the trailer with a second hinge configured to allow the second door to operate between an open position and a closed position. The trailer also includes a roof and a trailer tongue with a coupling configured to attach to a hitch of a vehicle. Two or more wheels are provided that are extendable from an up position to a down position. In this way, when the wheels are in the down position, the trailer is lifted off the ground.

Abstract: A training system produces a resource-efficient machine-trained model via a training architecture that employs plural processing paths. Some of the processing paths incorporate the use of auxiliary information that imparts external knowledge about source items being processed. The training architecture also employs contrastive learning that operates at different respective levels within the training architecture. For instance, the training architecture uses encoder-level contrastive learning to compare output information generated by different encoders within the training architecture. The training architecture uses decoder-level contrastive learning to compare output information produced by different decoders within the training architecture. An inference-stage system performs an application task using the model produced by the training system.

Abstract: A novel plasma generation and containment system includes a first electrode, a second electrode, a power source, and an electromagnet. The first electrode and the second electrode are electrically coupled via a wire to form an open circuit. The voltage is asserted on the open circuit to form a spark between the first electrode and the second electrode to form a closed circuit. Then, a current is asserted on the closed circuit to form a plasma between the first electrode and the second electrode. The electromagnet provides a magnetic field to contain and compress the plasma.

Abstract: A method for determining a lesion location in a patient for biopsy along X, Y, and Z axes. The method includes positioning the patient in an examination device to collect examination images showing the lesion. The method includes positioning the patient in a biopsy device configured for holding the patient during the biopsy and collecting a biopsy image of the patient using the biopsy device. The method includes analyzing the biopsy image to determine a measured x-coordinate and a measured y-coordinate of the lesion along the X and Y axes, respectively, analyzing the examination images to determine a calculated z-coordinate along the Z axis of the lesion, and determining the location of the lesion based on the measured x-coordinate and the measured y-coordinate from the biopsy image and the calculated z-coordinate determined from the one or more examination images.

Abstract: A transmission system and a method for operation of said transmission is provided. The transmission system includes a first friction clutch with a first set of discs splined to a shaft and a second set of discs splined to an inner circumference of a first gear. The system further includes a first hydraulic passage extending through the shaft and including an outlet in the shaft that directly supplies a lubricant to the first and second sets of discs during transmission system operation, where the first gear includes outer teeth that are positioned circumferentially around the first gear outward from the first and second sets of discs and is designed to mesh with a second gear in the transmission system.

Abstract: A method of in-flight operational assessment for an electric aircraft comprising detecting by a sensor an electrical parameter of an energy source. The method further includes receiving by a controller the electrical parameter from the sensor and determining a power-production capability of the energy source, using the electrical parameter. The method further includes calculating, by the controller, a projected power-consumption need of the electric aircraft and comparing the determined power-production capability of the energy source to the projected power-consumption need. The method includes generating a power production command datum as a function of the comparison of the power-production capability and the projected power-consumption need.

Abstract: A pallet cover suitable for use in covering at least a portion of a payload on a pallet and a kit for use in making the pallet cover. In one embodiment, the pallet cover includes a top wall, a front wall, a rear wall, a left side wall, and a right side wall, wherein the walls are detachably joined to one another. Each of the top wall, the front wall, the rear wall, the left side wall, and the right side wall includes a first fabric sheet and a second fabric sheet, the first and second fabric sheets being joined together to form a plurality of pockets. Each pocket may removably receive a temperature-control member containing a phase-change material. At least one of the top wall, the front wall, the rear wall, the left side wall and the right side wall may include a plurality of detachably joined portions.

Abstract: The present application describes a method and apparatus for managing a service in a service layer. In particular, a method describes a computer readable storage medium including instructions for managing a service in a service layer where the instructions are executed by a processor. The executed instructions cause the processor to receive a request to manage, via a service enabler function of the service layer, a change of state of the service including adding, removing, activating, or deactivating the service. The request may include a service description. The executed instructions also cause the processor to evaluate, via the service enabler function, the service description comprising identifiers of one or more services to manage. The executed instructions further cause the processor to identify one or more service capabilities in the service layer to assist in managing the one or more services identified in the service description.
