  • Patent number: 11967683
Abstract: A system and method for intelligent battery charging management to improve battery life and charging efficiency of high capacity batteries that may not be deeply discharged on a regular basis may learn driving habits automatically and/or with user input and select an ending state-of-charge (SOC) to limit battery charging to less than maximum capacity based on current and/or anticipated ambient temperature and battery health of life (HOL). An expected vehicle travel distance before the next charge may be learned or determined based on vehicle or user inputs. An ending SOC based on battery temperature, a delta SOC to meet propulsive energy for the expected travel distance, cycling effect (depth of discharge) on battery HOL for a given delta SOC, and/or battery working efficiency may be used to control charging of the vehicle battery.

  • Patent number: 11965965
Abstract: The technology relates to localizing a vehicle. As one approach, a first LIDAR sensor scan data of an environment of the vehicle and localization data for the vehicle at a location where the first LIDAR sensor scan was captured are stored. Thereafter, the computing device is suspended and subsequently unsuspended. After the computing device is unsuspended, second LIDAR sensor scan data of the vehicle's environment is received. The first LIDAR sensor scan data is compared to the second LIDAR sensor scan data to determine whether the vehicle has moved. Based on the determination of whether the vehicle has moved from the location, the stored localization data is used to localize the vehicle. Other approaches are also described.

  • Patent number: 11968185
Abstract: Technologies for on-device experimentation include embodiments that receive a request to provide digital content for display in a slot of a user interface display screen of a first device. By a secure execution environment, an identifier received with the request is anonymized. The request is determined to be associated with a content distribution test. The anonymized identifier is assigned to a test group associated with the content distribution test. The secure execution environment receives user interface event data generated by the first device in response to the content distribution test. The received user interface event data is attributed to the test group. An association of the user interface event data with the test group and the content distribution test is provided by the secure execution environment to a second device different than the first device while the identifier and the anonymized identifier are not provided to the second device.

  • Patent number: 11967911
Abstract: A voltage saturation prevention algorithm used as at least part of a method of controlling an electric vehicle, wherein the electric vehicle comprises an electric motor, a controller, and an inverter. The controller receives a control signal with an instruction to operate the electric motor, then sends a switching signal corresponding to the control signal to the inverter, wherein the inverter provides a plurality of output signals for operation of the electric motor. The method includes determining the expected amplitude of the plurality of output signals based on the instruction to operate the electric motor, calculating the amount of modification of the plurality of output signals required to prevent the expected amplitude from reaching a saturation value, and modifying, based on the calculation, the instruction to operate the electric motor to prevent the expected amplitude from reaching the saturation value. The method is implemented in software, without any additional hardware.
