Abstract: Embodiments are described for treating a fluid, e.g., a biological fluid. The embodiments may include systems, apparatuses, and methods. Embodiments may provide for a flow cell, with a plurality of manipulation elements, through which a fluid is flowed. The fluid may be treated (e.g., exposed to energy) as it moves through the flow cell. In embodiments, the flow cell may be used to inactivate pathogens in the fluid.

Abstract: A hydro turbulator system includes a volute that has a top duct and a bottom duct that allow fluid to enter and exit the volute. An impeller system including a first impeller and a second impeller is positioned within the volute. The first impeller and the second impeller are axially aligned. A motor is operationally connected to the impeller system so that the first impeller and the second impeller rotate upon operation of the motor. Rotation of the first impeller and the second impeller creates successive zones of high pressure and low pressure to agitate and condition fluid within the volute.

Abstract: A cart and rack assembly for transporting a planar material includes a rack and a cart. The rack includes a frame coupled to a base. The frame has an upper portion and a lower portion. The upper portion has a first width, and the lower portion has a second width. The cart is configured to reversibly receive the base. The cart includes a guide member configured to guide either of the base or the cart into a predetermined position when the base is received by the cart. The assembly further includes a bracket having a first end and a second end which is configured to selectively secure the planar material to the assembly. The base has a series of apertures configured to accept the first end of the bracket. The second end of the bracket is configured to be selectively coupled with the upper portion of the frame.
Abstract: In one embodiment, a guide system includes a first member configured to be fixed to a structure. A coupling element is fixed to the first member. A second member is moveable relative to the first member. The second member is configured to receive the coupling element to couple the first member to the second member. There is a channel between the first member and the second member when the first member is coupled to the second member. The channel is configured to receive a portion of a closure.
Abstract: Disclosed example people monitoring methods include detecting a first watermark in a first audio signal obtained from an acoustic sensor, the first watermark identifying media presented by a monitored media device, determining whether a second watermark, different from the first watermark, is embedded in the first audio signal obtained from the acoustic sensor, the second watermark identifying at least one of a mobile device or a user of the mobile device, classifying the second watermark as a media watermark or a people monitoring watermark based on a characteristic of the second watermark, and when the second watermark is determined to be embedded in the first audio signal, reporting at least one of the second watermark or information decoded from the second watermark to identify at least one of the mobile device or the user of the mobile device as being exposed to the media presented by the monitored media device.

Abstract: A thermally sensitive ionic redox transistor comprises a channel, a reservoir layer, and an electrolyte layer disposed between the channel and the reservoir layer. A conductance of the channel is varied by changing concentration of ions in the channel layer. The electrolyte layer is configured to undergo a state change at a state transition temperature. Below the state transition temperature, ions in the electrolyte layer are substantially immobile. Above the state transition temperature, ions can move freely between the reservoir layer and the channel across the electrolyte layer in response to a voltage being applied between the channel and the reservoir layer. When the device is cooled below the state transition temperature or temperature range, the ions are trapped in one or more of the layers because the electrolyte layer loses its ionic conductivity. A state of the redox transistor can be read by measuring the conductance of the channel.
