  • Patent number: 11923706
Abstract: This disclosure describes apparatuses and techniques for a switched multi-cell battery system for electronic devices. In some aspects, a switched multi-cell battery system may transfer, via a plurality of power control switches electrical power from a power adapter to components of the electronic device by charging battery cells in series and by discharging the battery cells in parallel or as a single battery cell. As a result, the switched multi-cell battery system may reduce or eliminate a voltage step-down conversion stage to increase a power-transfer efficiency of an electronic device. By doing so, charging times may be reduced or operating times may be increased, thereby improving users' experience with their electronic devices.

  • Patent number: 11922183
Abstract: A cross-platform deployment computing system receives an application to be deployed to a cloud. The application is parsed to identify assignment criteria and is assigned to an application availability group the defines security that defines a topology in which the application will be deployed. The application is then provided to a control plane for deployment at a target remote server architecture. In order to deploy the application to a different remote server architecture, the control plane for the different remote server architecture accesses the deployment definitions in the AAG and deploys the application to the different remote server architecture using the deployment definitions in the AAG to which the application is assigned.

  • Patent number: 11922168
Abstract: A program is executed using a call stack and shadow stack. The call stack includes frames having respective return addresses. The frames may also store variables and/or parameters. The shadow stack stores duplicates of the return addresses in the call stack. The call stack and the shadow stack are maintained by, (i) each time a function is called, adding a corresponding stack frame to the call stack and adding a corresponding return address to the shadow stack, and (ii) each time a function is exited, removing a corresponding frame from the call stack and removing a corresponding return address from the shadow stack. A backtrace of the program's current call chain is generated by accessing the return addresses in the shadow stack. The outputted backtrace includes the return addresses from the shadow stack and/or information about the traced functions that is derived from the shadow stack's return addresses.

  • Patent number: 11922636
Abstract: An electronic device places an augmented reality object in an image of a real environment based on a pose of the electronic device and based on image segmentation. The electronic device includes a camera that captures images of the real environment and sensors, such as an inertial measurement unit (IMU), that capture a pose of the electronic device. The electronic device selects an augmented reality (AR) object from a memory, segments a captured image of the real environment into foreground pixels and background pixels, and composites an image for display wherein the AR object is placed between the foreground pixels and the background pixels. As the pose of the electronic device changes, the electronic device maintains the relative position of the AR object with respect to the real environment in images for display.
