Abstract: Techniques for auto-starting a VPN in a MAM environment are disclosed. A MAM-controlled application is launched on a computer system. Policy is queried and a determination is made as to whether to auto-start a VPN application based on the policy. Based on the policy, the VPN application is auto-started, and the VPN application initiates a VPN tunnel that is usable by at least the MAM-controlled application. Network communications transmitted to or from the MAM-controlled application then pass through the VPN tunnel.

Abstract: This application describes clutch mechanisms for use in a steering control system, e.g., a steering control system used to steer a trolling motor for a boat. Such clutch mechanisms can reduce and avoid damage to the steering control system (e.g., a steering motor) when the system is subjected to unusually large impact loads (e.g., when the trolling motor or boat contacts an obstruction). The clutches described in this application can be used to decouple the steering control system from a steering shaft (or other drive mechanism) upon application of a large impact load, thus reducing damage to and increasing the lifespan of such system. In some cases, the clutch is a ball and spring mechanism. In other cases, the clutch is a slip tooth mechanism.

Abstract: Intravesical drug delivery devices are provided which may include an elongated body formed of a matrix system of a drug dispersed in a silicone, wherein the elongated body has a first end, an opposed second end, and an intermediate portion between the first and second ends, and wherein the silicone of the matrix system is cured to bias the elongated body in a coiled retention shape, such that the device is elastically deformable between a relatively straightened shape suited for insertion of the device through a urethra and into the urinary bladder of a patient and the coiled retention shape which is suited to retain the device within the urinary bladder.
Abstract: An apparatus for removing rubber stator material from inside a housing includes a head, at least one blade, and an actuator. For example, the apparatus can be used to core out rubber material from the housing so new material can be molded therein. Also, the apparatus can be used to cut back excess rubber material newly molded in the housing. The head is rotated about an axis and is moved along the axis relative to the housing. The at least one blade is pivotably connected to the head and removes the rubber stator material at least partially from inside the housing with the rotation and movement of the head through the housing. The actuator is associated with the at least one blade and is operable to adjust a pivot of the at least one blade relative to the head.
Abstract: An electric machine includes a stator core and a hairpin winding. The stator core defines slots that are circumferentially arranged between an inner diameter and an outer diameter of the stator core. Each slot has a plurality of pin positions that is arranged in a direction that extends from the inner diameter toward the outer diameter. The hairpin winding has a plurality of electrical paths of interconnected hairpins disposed within the slots. Each of the plurality of electrical paths of interconnected hairpins has a plurality of typical hairpins and an atypical hairpin. Each typical hairpin has a crown pitch of eight, nine, or ten, slots and opposing outwardly extending twist pitches along each end of the typical hairpin of four and one half slots. Each atypical hairpin, has an outwardly extending twist pitch and an inwardly extending twist pitch on opposing respective ends of the atypical hairpin.
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are provided for detecting a pavement marking around an autonomous vehicle, comparing the detected pavement marking with a pavement marking present in a semantic data map, determining whether a change has occurred between the detected pavement marking and the pavement marking present in the semantic data map, and updating the semantic data map based on the determining of whether the change has occurred between the detected pavement marking and the pavement marking present in the semantic data map.

Abstract: A device having a Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) may be configured to selectively run in a normal mode or a timing testing mode. In the timing testing mode the device is configured to disrupt timing of processing that takes place on the GPU while running an application with the GPU and test the application for errors in device hardware component and/or software component synchronization while the device is running in the timing testing mode.
Abstract: Systems and methods for detecting when a mobile device is left in a vehicle, and returning forgotten devices to owners. Additionally, systems and methods are provided for preventing mobile devices from being left in vehicles. In particular, sensors inside a vehicle as well as sensors on mobile devices can be used to identify when a mobile device remains in a vehicle after the owner has exited the vehicle and ended their trip. Systems and methods are provided for notifying the user of the forgotten device and intelligently returning the device to the user.

Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems, and computer-readable media are set forth for generating and/or utilizing image shortcuts that cause one or more corresponding computer actions to be performed in response to determining that one or more features are present in image(s) from a camera of a computing device of a user (e.g., present in a real-time image feed from the camera). An image shortcut can be generated in response to user interface input, such as a spoken command. For example, the user interface input can direct the automated assistant to perform one or more actions in response to object(s) having certain feature(s) being present in a field of view of the camera. Subsequently, when the user directs their camera at object(s) having such feature(s), the assistant application can cause the action(s) to be automatically performed. For example, the assistant application can cause data to be presented and/or can control a remote device in accordance with the image shortcut.
Abstract: The present invention provides systems and methods for the virtualization, aggregation, and distributed processing of facsimile communications. The Remote FAX Interconnect known as etherFAX® is a system and method that allows for the reception and delivery of information based on cloud computing infrastructure to or from one or more facsimile systems using Internet/web based communication protocols such as HTTP(S) as the transport between a facsimile capable application or hardware and the remotely accessible etherFAX® services.
Abstract: An audio notification system for an autonomous vehicle (AV) determines that the AV is within range of a user and emits a sound though a speaker of the AV to notify that the user that the vehicle has arrived. The audio notification system may include a sensor for sensing that the user has accessed the AV, and turns off the sound in response to the user accessing the AV. The audio notification may be generated according to one or more audio options, e.g., volume, pitch, or audio pattern.

Abstract: A flexible liner that is inserted onto bathtubs or children swimming pools to help cushion an impact and mitigate injury when a bather or swimmer falls on the hard ledges covered by the flexible liner. The device covers the ledges of the bathtub or pool with a soft, cushioning material and is attached to the bathtub or pool to maintain its position along dangerous, hard surfaces. The flexible liner has connectors where toys or other useful devices can be attached for the bather or swimmer to play with or utilize. The flexible liner is designed to add cushioning to decrease impact injury and entertain the bather or swimmer.

Abstract: Analysis of residual stress in materials is often done in static conditions in a laboratory. Accurate systems and methods for performing these analyses in a dynamic, non-laboratory environment are notoriously difficult and can be very inaccurate. A method using a portable, field deployable apparatus having greater accuracy than currently available is disclosed whereby accurate and repeatable residual stress analysis may be implemented in non-laboratory environments leading to greatly improved diagnostics, maintenance and life limit prediction.
