Abstract: The inventive technology comprises a novel thermal indicator system that incorporates one or more thermogenic compounds that may be applied to a gun component and indicate the temperature of a gun component during and after use. This novel thermal indicator system may indicate the temperature at which the gun component will cause burns, is unsafe to store, or if a pre-determined threshold temperature has been reached resulting in a loss of firing accuracy, as well as imminent, or actual component failure.

Abstract: A hybrid scheme is provided for performing translation lookaside buffer (TLB) shootdowns in a computer system whose processing cores support both inter-processor interrupt (IPI) and broadcast TLB invalidate (TLBI) shootdown mechanisms. In one set of embodiments, this hybrid scheme dynamically determines, for each instance where a TLB shootdown is needed, whether to use the IPI mechanism or the broadcast TLBI mechanism to optimize shootdown performance (or otherwise make the TLB shootdown operation functional/practical).

Abstract: A method of protecting an endpoint against a security threat detected at the endpoint, wherein the endpoint includes, in memory pages of the endpoint, an operating system (OS), a separate software entity, and remediation code, includes the steps of: transferring control of virtual CPUs (vCPUs) of the endpoint from the OS to the separate software entity; and while the separate software entity controls the vCPUs, storing, in an interrupt dispatch table, an instruction address corresponding to an interrupt, wherein the remediation code is stored at the instruction address, and replacing a next instruction to be executed by the OS, with an interrupt instruction, wherein the interrupt is raised when the OS executes the interrupt instruction, and the remediation code is executed as a result of handling of the interrupt that is raised.

Abstract: An integrated analog to digital converting and digital to analog converting (ADDA) RF transceiver for satellite applications, configured to replace conventional analog RF down and up conversion circuitry. The ADDA RF transceiver includes one of more ADCs, DSPs, and DACs, all on a single ASIC. Further, the circuitry is to be radiation tolerant for high availability and reliability in the ionizing radiation environment present in the space environment.

Abstract: A method for determining an amount of teriflunomide in a sample by mass spectrometry includes adding an internal standard to the sample, subjecting the sample to solid phase extraction, purifying the sample by high turbulence liquid chromatography, ionizing the sample to produce one or more teriflunomide ions detectable by mass spectrometry, determining the amount of the one or more teriflunomide ions by mass spectrometry, and using the amount of the one or more ions determined to further determine the amount of teriflunomide in the sample.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method are provided for a sterile staple implant kit that a surgeon may unpack and utilize during a surgery. The staple implant kit comprises a group of complementary surgery-specific instruments that are packaged in a sterile state. An instrument tray is configured to preserve the instruments in the sterile state until the staple implant kit is opened during the surgery. The instrument tray is configured to provide the surgeon with easy access to the instruments during the surgery. The staple implant kit comprises at least a staple inserter and a surgical staple suitable for being implanted in parallel holes drilled across a bone fusion or fixation site of a patient. The surgical staple preferably is loaded in a relaxed configuration into the staple inserter. A staple retention clip retains the surgical staple in the staple inserter until the staple is distracted during the surgery.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a technique of configuring flexible photovoltaic tracker systems with high damping and low angle stow positions. Under dynamic environmental loads implementing a high amount of damping (e.g., greater than 25% of critical damping, greater than 50% of critical damping) or a very high amount of damping (e.g., 100% or greater of critical damping, infinite damping) enables the flexible tracker system to prevent problematic aeroelastic behaviors while positioned in a low stow angle. The disclosed technique is further applied to a prototyping process during wind tunnel testing.

The display device may render data representing a binary option based on whether a storm will make landfall within the certain radius. A request to purchase the binary option may be received. It may be determined whether the landfall location corresponds to a zip code associated with the given longitude latitude pair in the memory.

Abstract: A ground-based vehicle for making and applying a fire and smoke inhibiting slurry composition on ground surfaces before the arrival of wildfire so as to proactively form a strategic chemical-type wildfire break on the ground surfaces. The vehicle includes: a mobile spray vehicle navigable along a ground surface; a mixing tank with an integrated agitator mechanism mounted on the mobile spray vehicle, for blending mulch fibers including wood and/or cellulose fibers, with clean fire inhibiting chemicals (CFIC), using a wetting agent, and then mixing with a quantity of water to make up a fire and smoke inhibiting slurry mixture, so that the clean fire inhibiting chemicals infuse into the surface of the mulch fibers when being mixed within said mixing tank; a GPS-tracking hydraulic spraying system supported on the mobile spray vehicle to hydraulically spray the fire and smoke inhibiting slurry mixture on the ground surface so as to form a strategic chemical-type wildfire break.

Abstract: Embodiments described herein relate generally to apparatuses and methods for structuring and processing data. In some embodiments, a method includes receiving stimulus-response data, via a processor, the stimulus-response data including a digital representation of a stimulus and a digital representation of a response. The processor calculates a weight associated with the stimulus-response data, based on a rule, and identifies: (1) a distribution type, based on the digital representation of the stimulus; and (2) a range of inclination values of the distribution type, based on the digital representation of the response. The processor compiles a compressed multidimensional data profile associated with an object of the stimulus-response data and based on the weight, the digital representation of the distribution type, and the digital representation of the range of inclination values.

Abstract: A method for a crawl algorithm includes obtaining a plurality of web pages for a web crawler to crawl. The method also includes determining an available bandwidth for the web crawler. The method includes, for each respective web page of the plurality of web pages, determining a respective crawl value for the respective web page based on the available bandwidth and determining that the respective crawl value of the respective web page satisfies a threshold value. The method includes, in response to determining that the respective crawl value of the respective web page satisfies the threshold value, updating the respective web page in a cache memory.

Abstract: A navigation engine for medical and/or pharmacy claims (in combination with employer human resource records or on a stand-alone basis) that quantifies healthcare outcomes and ranks healthcare providers and other healthcare items by root diagnosis based on their overall average claims per healthy day (i.e., clinical efficiency). Claims per healthy day is the adjusted claims cost per day to keep a patient healthy (or in the case of an employer, keep an employee at work), so the lower, the better. The navigation engine uses drop-down menus and/or similar techniques that require the user to select a root diagnosis on which to search, as well as other variables (e.g., provider category, geographic proximity, in-network versus in or out of network, etc.), turning an open-ended question, e.g.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses control light emitted from a mirror platform through an interaction with a user. A first signal is received from a capacitive sensor during the interaction. The capacitive sensor is incorporated on the back side of the mirror platform. The first signal is processed to obtain control parameters for at least two light sources. The at least two light sources are configured with the mirror platform and the at least two light sources produce light at different color temperatures. The control parameters are used to cause the at least two light sources to emit light at a color temperature established during the interaction.

Abstract: A decentralized identity access management (IAM) architecture that executes IAM service code on the distributed nodes (i.e., replicas) of a Byzantine fault tolerant (BFT) state machine replication (SMR) system is provided. For example, the IAM service code may be implemented as a blockchain smart contract or as a native execution engine that runs on each replica. With this decentralized architecture, up to f replicas (where f is a threshold number defined by the system's BFT consensus protocol) can be faulty/corrupted without affecting the security of the system.

Abstract: Systems and techniques are disclosed for generating entries for a searchable index based on rules generated by one or more machine-learned models. The index entries can include one or more tokens correlated with an outcome and an outcome probability. A subset of tokens can be identified based on the characteristics of an event. The index may be searched for outcomes and their respective probabilities that correspond to tokens that are similar to or match the subset of tokens based on the event.

Abstract: A dual tire buffing apparatus includes a turntable having a first end and an opposite second end. The turntable is rotatable about a central axis between first and second positions. A first expandable hub is rotatably coupled to the turntable proximate the first end. The first expandable hub is configured to receive a first tire casing. A second expandable hub is rotatably coupled to the turntable proximate the second end. The second expandable hub is configured to receive a second tire casing. A rasp head is positioned to operatively engage the first tire casing on the first expandable hub when the turntable is in the first position to perform a buffing operation on the first tire casing, and to operatively engage the second tire casing on the second expandable hub when the turntable is in the second position to perform a buffing operation on the second tire casing.

Abstract: Aspects of the present invention are directed to a door securement device for securing a door to a door frame having a front door frame wall, the door having a first fastener attached thereto and the frame having a second fastener attached thereto. The door securement device can include a top wall, a first side wall extending substantially perpendicularly outwardly from the top wall, a second side wall extending substantially perpendicularly outwardly from the top wall, and substantially perpendicularly from the first side wall. The door securement device can also include a first slot defined in the first side wall and a second slot defined in the second side wall. The first and second slot portions can be sized and shaped to retain respective heads of the first and second fasteners.

Abstract: A system and method for performing real-time quality inspection of objects is disclosed. The system and method include a transport to move objects being inspected, allowing the inspection to be performed in-line. At least one optical acquisition unit is provided that captured optical images of the objects being inspected. The captured optical images are matched to CAD models of objects, and the matched CAD model is extracted. A laser with an illumination light beam has a wavelength in the violet or ultraviolet range then conducts scans of the objects, which are formed into three-dimensional point clouds. The point clouds are compared to the extracted CAD models for each object, where CTF are compared to user input or CAD model information and the object is determined to be acceptable or defective based on the extent of deviation between the point cloud and the CAD model.
