Each ESL may include a multi-protocol radio that is configured to operate in a reception modality, a transmission modality, or a transceiving modality. The ESLs may each include a display that is configured to provide information about the respective product to which each ESL corresponds. The shopping store system may include a computer system configured to receive information transmitted by and process information received by each of the ESLs.
