  • Patent number: 11890554
Abstract: A degassing chamber for an ozone solution system includes a cylindrical housing defining a cavity. A mixture of water and ozone gas is delivered to the cavity, the mixture containing excess ozone gas. A cylindrical float is positioned centrally within the cavity to rise in accordance with the mixture column within the cavity. A piston is connected to move in accordance with the float. When the mixture level rises above a threshold, the piston the piston moves upward and seals an ozone outlet. As a pressure of ozone gas in the degassing chamber increases, the float is forced downward causing the piston to open a channel to an upper ozone outlet through which excess ozone gas is released. After removal of excess ozone gas, a mixture of water and ozone gas is output from the degassing chamber which is suitable for use as a general purpose cleaner.

  • Patent number: 11890225
Abstract: The present invention involves the use of a small profile device for preparation and/or delivery of cold slurry into the human body. The cold slurry can be generated within the device itself or within a separate small chamber, both of which produce a cold slurry using a cooling source and an injectable fluid. The delivery device provides continued agitation to the fluid/slurry through rotation and/or vibration of blades within the device. The fluid/cold slurry is cooled/kept cool through the use of an external cooling device, such as a cooling sleeve, that at least partially surrounds the delivery device. The cooling sleeve can cool or maintain the temperature of the cold slurry through a number of mechanisms. The cold slurry can be delivered using a device in accordance with the present invention to any tissue inside the body, including subcutaneous fat, visceral fat, and brown fat.

  • Patent number: 11890393
Abstract: Disclosed are methods, devices and materials for the in situ formation of a nerve cap to inhibit neuroma formation following planned or traumatic nerve injury. The method includes the steps of identifying a severed end of a nerve, and positioning the severed end into a cavity defined by a form. A transformable media is introduced into the form cavity to surround the severed end. The media is permitted to undergo a transformation from a first, relatively flowable state to a second, relatively non flowable state to form a protective barrier surrounding the severed end. The media may be a hydrogel, and the transformation may produce a synthetic crosslinked hydrogel protective barrier. The media may include at least one anti-regeneration agent to inhibit nerve regrowth.

  • Patent number: 11890798
Abstract: A method of making granular extrudate by extruding a starch-containing admixture from an extruder into an extrudate discharge chamber in gas flow communication with a discharge conduit that transports the granular extrudate away therefrom in gas turbulently flowing therethrough. During transport of the granular extrudate from the discharge chamber and through the conduit in the flowing gas, the gas quenches the granular extrudate cooling and drying the granular extrudate without heating it. Quenching reduces the granular extrudate temperature by at least 15° Celsius and moisture content to no greater than 13%. Quenching prevents shrinkage and densification of the extrudate including when cut into pellets. Quenching also prevents retrogradation, crystallization/recrystallization and solubilization of cold-water soluble binder formed in each pellet during extrusion.

  • Patent number: 11889864
Abstract: Apparatus and methods are described for use with a vaporizer that vaporizes at least one active ingredient of a plant material. In response to receiving a first input to the vaporizer, the plant material is heated, in a first heating step. An indication of the temperature of the plant material is detected, and, in response to detecting an indication that the temperature of the plant material is at a first temperature, the first heating step is terminated, by withholding causing further temperature increase of the plant material. The first temperature is less than 95 percent of the vaporization temperature of the active ingredient. Subsequently, a second input is received at the vaporizer. In response thereto, the plant material is heated to the vaporization temperature, in a second heating step. Other applications are also described.
