  • Patent number: 11889543
Abstract: A wireless access node serves wireless User Equipment (UE) over radio frequency bands. In the wireless access node, radio circuitry wirelessly receives signaling from the wireless UE that indicates received signal strengths and Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) layers for the radio frequency bands. Processing circuitry in the wireless access node selects one of the radio frequency bands based on the received signal strengths and the MIMO layers. The radio circuitry wirelessly exchanges user data with the wireless UE over the selected one of the frequency bands. In some examples, the processing circuitry also uses sector locations of the wireless UE for the frequency bands to select the one of the frequency bands.
