Abstract: A plurality of candidate predictions of a current vertex is determined. The current vertex is one of a plurality of vertices of a mesh. Each of the plurality of candidate predictions is determined based on a respective one of a plurality of triangles in the mesh and including two-dimensional (2D) coordinates in a 2D domain. An average prediction of the plurality of candidate predictions is computed. A 2D prediction of the current vertex is selected from a prediction list that includes the plurality of candidate predictions and the average prediction. A three-dimensional (3D) prediction of the current vertex is determined based on one or more neighboring vertices of the current vertex in the mesh. A prediction residue comprising a prediction error of the current vertex is encoded. The prediction residue is obtained based on the selected 2D prediction and the determined 3D prediction of the current vertex.

Abstract: Systems and methods for enabling reliable transactions of data communications are provided. A processing device according to one embodiment includes a management interface and a security module. The management interface is configured to initialize a transaction having a plurality of transaction elements. The transaction is a unit of work including a set of one or more logically related data elements or functions for accomplishing a single task. The management interface is further configured to determine at least one expected value for at least one transaction element and to compare at least one actual value with the at least one expected value to obtain a comparison element. The security module is configured to execute security processes based on the comparison element.

Abstract: An apparatus comprising: a crystal; a wire pair formed of a first wire connected so as to receive a first alternating current, and a second wire connected so as to receive a second alternating current substantially antiparallel to the first alternating current in the first wire, and located adjacent the first wire such that a localized electromagnetic filed is created in a region local to the wire pair via constructive electromagnetic interference between the first wire and the second wire in the region local to the wire pair and destructive electromagnetic field interference between the first wire and the second wire outside of the region local to the wire pair; and a colour centre located within the crystal in the region local to the wire pair.

Abstract: A drinking vessel includes an outer vessel, a deformable retaining flange, and a removable insert structure formed of glass and configured to be disposed within the outer vessel. The insert structure may have a sipping portion configured to extend out of the open end of the outer vessel and the deformable retaining flange is configured to releasably retain the insert structure within the outer vessel.

Abstract: A method includes obtaining a dataset that includes health data in a Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) standard. The health data includes a plurality of healthcare events. The method includes generating, using the dataset, an events table that includes the plurality of healthcare events and is indexed by time and a unique identifier per patient encounter. The method also includes generating, using the dataset, a traits table that includes static data and is indexed by the unique identifier per patient encounter. The method includes training a machine learning model using the events table and the traits table and predicting, using the trained machine learning model and one or more additional healthcare events associated with a patient, a health outcome for the patient.

The substrate has a front side, a back side, and an inclined sidewall extending from the back side to the front side. A contact pad is connected to the semiconductor device. The contact pad is embedded in an inter dielectric layer (IDL) disposed in the front side. The contact pad has a contact pad edge with a surface aligned along the inclined sidewall. A redistribution layer (RDL) is disposed on the inclined sidewall. The RDL is physically and electrically connected to the contact pad directly through the surface of the contact pad edge aligned along the inclined sidewall.

Abstract: A hybrid functional particle for use in an electrochemical cell that cycle lithium ions is provided. The hybrid functional particle includes a lithiated zeolite having a plurality of pores and a plurality of lithium-containing particles disposed within one or more pores of the plurality of pores of the lithiated zeolite. For example, the lithiated zeolite has a porosity ranging from about 10 vol. % to about 90 vol. %, and the lithium-containing particles can fill an amount ranging from about 1% to about 100% of a total porosity of the lithiated zeolite. The electrochemical cell includes first and second electrodes separated by a separating layer, and the hybrid functional particle may be disposed within one or both of the electrodes, coated on one or more sides of one or both of the electrodes, disposed within the separating layer, and/or coated on one or more surfaces of the separating layer.

In the preferred embodiments, the vehicle tailgate cover and/or pad system is uniquely configured to provide a vehicle tailgate with a flat and padded surface. In some preferred embodiments, the vehicle tailgate cover system is fixed to a vehicle tailgate and has a base of rigid material, the base having a front surface that is substantially flat, and the base including at least one mounting through-hole for mounting the vehicle tailgate cover system to the vehicle tailgate with fasteners, and a padding layer attached to the base at the front surface of the base.

Abstract: A perception system for a motor vehicle includes a camera with a lens having a field of view and configured to focus incident light from the field of view. The field of view includes a road having a road surface. The perception system also includes an imaging sensor arranged in the camera. The imaging sensor has a photosensitive surface defined by an imaging surface area configured to capture the incident light focused from the field of view. A first portion of the imaging surface area is configured to capture an image of the road. The perception system further includes a first polarizer array arranged across the first portion of the imaging surface area and configured to reduce glare from the road surface.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide a method and an apparatus for video decoding. The apparatus includes processing circuitry that receives a coded bitstream comprising a first block in a current picture. The processing circuitry obtains prediction information indicating whether the first block is coded in an intra template matching prediction (IntraTMP) mode. If the IntraTMP mode is applied to the first block, the first block is reconstructed based on a prediction block within a reconstructed search area in the current picture. A reference template of the prediction block is matched to a current template of the first block in the IntraTMP mode. An IntraTMP-based block vector BVIntraTMP of the first block is stored. The IntraTMP-based block vector indicates a position displacement between the current template of the first block and the reference template of the prediction block. A second block is reconstructed based on the stored IntraTMP-based block vector.

Abstract: A video-processing technique uses machine-trained logic to detect and track people that appear in video information. The technique then ranks the prominence of these people in the video information, to produce ranking information. The prominence of a person reflects a level of importance of the person in the video information, corresponding to the capacity of the person to draw the attention of a viewer. For instance, the prominence of the person reflects, at least in part, an extent to which the person appears in the video information. The technique performs its ranking based on person-specific feature information. The technique produces each instance of person-specific feature information by accumulating features pertaining to a particular person. One or more application systems make use of the ranking information to control the presentation of the video information.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for generating a pecuniary program, the apparatus including a computing device, configured to receive a user input relating to a user; receive pecuniary data relating to a user; identify a plurality of trends in the pecuniary data; generate a first training data set including: at least a priority scoring criteria; and a plurality of a plurality of identified trends in pecuniary data relating to the user; classify at least an element of the user input to a priority score using a first machine learning model, wherein classifying the at an element of the user input includes training a first machine machine-learning model, as a function of the first training data set, and generate a pecuniary program for the user as a function of the priority score.

Abstract: A method for evaporative casting includes the steps of: using three-dimensional (3D) printing to print only a hollow shell in 3D of a full-sized target part according to an algorithm, forming a hardened coating of ceramic mold over an entire exterior surface of the 3D printed hollow shell, forming a pre-cast assembly by connecting the hardened ceramic mold to an end of a conduit, burying completely the pre-cast assembly under compacted sand or ceramic beads while an inlet to the conduit is kept free and open at an upright position to receive a selected cast material in a molten state, the selected cast material in molten state evaporating the 3D hollow shell to completely fill up an entire volume enclosed by an inner surface of the hardened ceramic mold, and cooling to solidify the selected cast material inside the pre-cast assembly to yield the at least one full-sized target part.

Abstract: A raised border system includes a plurality of beams and a plurality of corner brackets that are configured to connect ends of the plurality of the beams to one another to form an enclosed inner area. Each corner bracket includes a first beam receiving slot that is open along a first side of the corner bracket and a second beam receiving slot that is open along a second side of the corner bracket and a first opening that is isolated from both the first beam receiving slot and the second beam receiving slot. The system includes a plurality of corner connectors that are coupled to and sit above the plurality of corner brackets. Each corner connector has an insert that is received within the first opening of one respective corner bracket. Each corner connector is configured to attach to an upper frame system.
