Abstract: An exercise machine has a flywheel, a rotary input member, and a clutch mechanism that is positionable in a freewheel position in which rotation of the rotary input member causes rotation of the flywheel and wherein thereafter ceasing rotation of the rotary input member permits continued rotation of the flywheel. The clutch mechanism is alternately positionable in a direct drive position in which rotation of the rotary input member causes rotation of the flywheel and wherein thereafter ceasing rotation of the rotary input member prevents continued rotation of the flywheel. Advantageously, movement of the clutch mechanism from the freewheel position to the direct drive position is prevented when rotation of the rotary input member is out of synchronization with rotation of the flywheel.
Abstract: A system and method is disclosed for detecting fissionable materials. In one embodiment the system may incorporate a neutron pulse generator configured to generate multiple short pulses of neutrons, or a single pulse of sufficient intensity, in a vicinity of an object of interest. The source pulse of neutrons includes neutrons which each have a full width half maximum time duration of less than about 100 ns and a peak energy level no greater than about 20 MeV. A fast response detector is used which is able to detect single neutron events indicative of fission neutrons having been produced by the source pulse of neutrons interacting with fissionable material associated with the object of interest, and which arrive at the fast response detector within a predetermined time window immediately before arrival of the source neutron pulses.

Abstract: A system and method for automated lawn chemical treatment application are described. The system comprises a station having a series of concentrated chemicals capable of being mixed and diluted in a reservoir having a water supply to form a specialty formula and a vehicle which receives the specialty formula for dispersal. Various features of the vehicle enable a systematic treatment of various plants and/or areas of a law to reduce or eliminate the growth of unwanted plants while promoting the growth of desired plants. These may include the addition of imaging sensors and artificial intelligence to recognize unwanted plants versus desirable plants and develop means to inhibit or grow each over a specified period. A homeowner's ability to consistently treat plants with low-volumes of chemical treatments is enhanced, thus limiting environmental effects and reducing chemical waste.

Abstract: An aquaculture system can include stacked growth trays. Animals, such as shrimp, can be transferred between the growth trays for different stages of growth. Waste water can be removed from the growth trays and can be processed by a water treatment system. Treated water can be returned to the growth trays. A valve in a first configuration can permit water to circulate through the growth tray, while impeding the animals from exiting the growth tray. In a second configuration, the valve can permit the animals to exit the growth tray, such as for transition to a subsequent growth tray. A sweeper system can be used for cleaning and/or mixing the water in the growth tray, and/or for pushing the animals out of the growth tray during a transition.
