Abstract: A method includes, while a user device is using a first presentation mode to present content to a user, obtaining a current state of the user of the user device. The method also includes, based on the current state of the user, providing, as output from a user interface of the user device, a user-selectable option that when selected causes the user device to use a second presentation mode to present the content to the user. The method further includes, in response to receiving a user input indication indicating selection of the user-selectable option, initiating presentation of the content using the second presentation mode.

Abstract: A magnetic and electrical circuit element including magnetic-flux-conducting posts, and a multi-layer structure formed with an electrically-conductive material. The multi-layer structure includes multiple layers forming a stack of layers along a length of the posts, said multi-layer structure configured as primary and secondary windings of a transformer. The primary winding is embedded in the multi-layer structure and wound around the magnetic-flux-conducting posts in such a way that a magnetic field induced in each of the magnetic-flux-conducting posts has a magnetic field polarity opposite to a polarity of the respective magnetic field of the magnetic-flux-conducting post adjacent the respective magnetic-flux-conducting post. Around each of the magnetic-flux-conducting posts, there is a respective one of the secondary windings connected to a semiconductor device.

Abstract: A set of dishware (the “set”) includes a bowl, a plate, a half-container, and two quarter-containers. The set may be in a stacked-configuration or an unstacked-configuration. The stacked-configuration facilitates easy transportation of the entire set as a single assembly making the set desirable for use by commuters. While in the stacked-configuration, there is a watertight seal between the bowl and the plate by use of a plate-skirt, most of the plate resides within the bowl, the half-container and the two quarter-containers reside on top of the plate, an overall-lid is on top of the half-container and the two quarter-containers, a removable elastic-band wraps around the overall-lid and the bowl to help maintain the stacked-configuration, and the plate along with the plate-skirt help to thermally insulate the bowl from the half-container and from the two quarter-containers. The quarter-containers are sealable by quarter-lids.

Abstract: A downhole assembly that includes tubulars rotationally coupled to one another. An interface is between adjacent tubulars that makes up at least a portion of the rotational coupling. Certain surfaces of adjacent tubulars come into contact with one another when adjacent tubulars are rotationally coupled; and which are defined as contact surfaces. Each contact surface is profiled with facets that are complementary to facets on a corresponding contact surface of an adjacent tubular. The profiling of the contact surfaces is such that when a contact surface is brought together with a corresponding contact surface; facets on the contact surface abut facets on the corresponding contact surface along planes that are oblique or parallel with an axis of the tubular. At least some of a rotational torque transmitted between adjacent tubulars occurs across the abutting facets.

  • Publication number: 20240006835
Abstract: A slidable current collector has an array of terminals with carbon brushes for contacting conductor rails to deliver electrical power to a moving work machine. The terminals have upper sections with a conductive post, lower sections that include a reservoir of liquid metal, and bladders that connect the upper sections with the lower sections. Magnets surround outer shells of the terminals. Fluid above a threshold pressure fed into the bladders holds the upper sections apart from the lower sections and forces the magnets away from the conductor rails. Fluid below the threshold pressure allows the magnets to clamp the terminals to the conductor, lowers the conductive post into the liquid metal, and urges the carbon brushes against the conductor rails. The bladders provide a fluid suspension distributed across the array of terminals, enabling consistent electrical contact and wear for the carbon brushes.
