Abstract: A new apparatus, system and method to purified produced water and removed valuable metals and minerals is described. The apparatus comprises a device for flowing produced water wellbore from a wellbore to the produced water purification apparatus; at least one device to remove heavy metals from the produced water; at least one brine removal device to remove brine from the produced water. The method comprises steps to use the apparatus and the system comprises a control panel that operates the at least one device for removing heavy metals and at least one sensor in a coordinated manner.

Abstract: Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer-readable media for secure generation of one-time passcodes using a contactless card. In one example, an operating system (OS) of a device may receive a uniform resource locator (URL) and a cryptogram from a contactless card. The OS may launch an application associated with the URL. The application may transmit the cryptogram to an authentication server. The application may receive a decryption result from the authentication server indicating the authentication server decrypted the cryptogram. Based on the decryption result, the application may request an OTP. The processor may receive an OTP from an OTP generator. The application may receive an input value and compare the input value to a copy of the OTP. The application may determine that the comparison results in a match, and display, based on the determination that the comparison results in the match, one or more attributes of the account.

Abstract: A method for harvesting energy from a train passing over a railroad rail. The method including transferring a deflection of the rail from the train to a mechanical energy storage device; storing mechanical energy provided by the transfer mechanism until a predetermined amount of mechanical energy is stored; transferring the stored mechanical energy to a generator upon the stored mechanical energy reaching the predetermined amount; and converting the transferred mechanical energy to electrical energy.

Abstract: A thermoelectric converter including a thermoelectric generator and a radiation source. The thermoelectric generator includes a hot source, a cold source, n-type material, and p-type material. The radiation source emits ionizing radiation that increases electrical conductivity. Also detailed is a method of using radiation to reach high efficiency with a thermoelectric converter that includes providing a thermoelectric generator and a radiation source, with the thermoelectric generator including a hot source, a cold source, n-type material, and p-type material, and emitting ionizing radiation with the radiation source to increase the electrical conductivity which strips electrons in the n-type material, the p-type material, or both the n-type material and p-type material from their nuclei with the electrons then free to move within the material.

Abstract: One or more default protected attribute values may be determined for a prediction model trained based on training data including a plurality of training observations. Each of the plurality of training observations may include a respective plurality of training data values corresponding with a plurality of features. Each of the plurality of training observations may also include a respective target value. Each of the training observations may include a respective protected attribute value corresponding with a protected attribute feature. A request to determine a designated predicted target value for a designated inference observation may be received after determining the one or more default protected attribute values. The predicted target value may be selected from two or more target values determined by applying the prediction model to an inference observation and potentially one or more default protected attribute values.

Abstract: A system for electrode dressing including a cutter with a rim and a center land supported on the rim by a number of flutes defining openings between the flutes. The flutes and the center land define a cutting profile of the cutter. The cutter is configured to rotate about an axis passing through the center land. Cutting edges are disposed on the flutes and are made of a first material having a Vickers hardness (HV) of at least 850 HV, overlaid by a second material having a Vickers hardness of at least 3200 HV. The cutter profile comprises a face cutting profile extending radially outward from the axis that is disposed at an angle of less than six-degrees relative to a radial normal of the cutter.

Abstract: Guidewires and methods for transmitting electrical stimuli to a heart and for guiding and supporting the delivery of elongate treatment devices within the heart are disclosed. A guidewire can comprise an elongate body, including first and second elongate conductors, and at least first and second electrodes. A distal end portion of the elongate body can include a preformed bias shape, such as a pigtail-shaped region, on which the first and second electrodes can be located. The preformed bias shape can optionally be non-coplanar relative to an intermediate portion of the elongate body. The first and second elongate conductors can be formed of a single structure or two or more electrically connected structures. The conductors can extend from proximal end portions to distal end portions that electrically connect to the first and second electrodes.

Abstract: Methods and systems for additive manufacturing are provided. An exemplary method includes calculating a slice area distribution of a desired 3D design including slice areas of slices of the desired design, wherein the slices have an initial slice area differential. The method further includes obtaining a slice area distribution of a sacrificial 3D design comprising slice areas of slices of the sacrificial design. The method includes planning a 3D layout of the desired and sacrificial design, wherein at each respective parallel plane in the layout a total slice area includes a respective slice area of the desired design and a respective slice area of the sacrificial design, and wherein the layout has a total slice area differential that is less than the initial slice area differential. Also, the method includes generating instructions for printing slices of the desired design and the sacrificial design according to the layout.

The wireless device receives a downlink control message indicating a TCI state among the one or more TCI states, wherein the TCI state is associated with a power control parameter set, among the one or more power control parameter sets, comprising a first pathloss factor, a first received power value, and a first closed-loop index. The wireless device transmits an uplink signal using a transmission power determined based on the first pathloss factor, the first received power value, and the first closed-loop index.

Abstract: A load control device for controlling the amount of power delivered to an electrical load (e.g., an LED light source) includes first and second semiconductor switches, a transformer, a capacitor, a controller, and a current sense circuit operable to receive a sense voltage representative of a primary current conducted through a primary winding of the transformer. The primary winding is coupled in series with a semiconductor switch, while a secondary winding is adapted to be operatively coupled to the load. The capacitor is electrically coupled between the junction of the first and second semiconductor switches and the primary winding. The current sense circuit receives a sense voltage and averages the sense voltage when the first semiconductor switch is conductive, so as to generate a load current control signal that is representative of a real component of a load current conducted through the load.

In various embodiments, a computing system might assemble data extracted from each block of a first block(s) of a first instance of a blockchain in a generated first file(s), the assembled data being organized to mirror how the data is organized and stored in the first block(s); might store, in a secure database, the first file(s), the first file(s) being configured to be content-searchable, content-sortable, and/or content-filterable; might generate a second instance of the blockchain, which contains one or more second blocks, the one or more second blocks each containing the hash value of each corresponding first block(s), without containing the data contained in each block of the first block(s); and might store, in a distributed peer data storage system of the blockchain system, the generated second instance of the blockchain.

The pin can be in one of multiple states, such as a depressed state and an undepressed state. The system can include a transmit coil and a receive coil that encircles the pin. The processing system can analyze a signal received from the receive coil to determine a state of the pin.

Abstract: Various embodiments comprise systems, methods, architectures, mechanisms and apparatus for managing UE migration or offloading from mobile network operators (MNO) cells to mobile virtual network operators (MVNO) cells (optionally access points) in a dual-network deployment use case by identifying and communicating one or more dynamic traffic offload policies to UE(s) based information provided by MVNO subscriber UEs and/or information generated by the network itself. In this manner, the MVNO network operator may control an amount of traffic in the MVNO small cell network while avoiding or at least reducing negative end-user experience. In various embodiments, the UE offloaded from the MNO to the MVNO may be roaming UE associated with a different MVNO.

The systems and methods provide a vehicle dynamics model that relates at least one input vehicle dynamics variable to at least one output vehicle dynamics variable. The systems and methods detect a crosswind impacting the vehicle by detecting a disturbance associated with the vehicle dynamics model caused by the crosswind and adapt control of the vehicle based on the detecting the crosswind impacting the vehicle.

Abstract: Presented are electrical interconnect board (ICB) assemblies with multilayer current collectors, methods for making/using such ICB assemblies, battery systems employing such ICB assemblies, and vehicles equipped with such ICB assemblies. An ICB assembly includes an electrically insulative ICB board frame that mounts to a battery case, an electrically conductive busbar assembly mounted to the board frame, and one or more end terminal assemblies mounted to the board frame adjacent opposing ends of the busbar assembly. The busbar assembly includes one or more busbar tracks that electrically interconnect a group of battery cells. Each end terminal assembly includes a bottom current collector plate that attaches to the ICB board frame and electrically connects to the battery cells and busbar track, a dielectric separator attached to the bottom current collector plate, and a top current collector plate attached to the dielectric separator and electrically connected to the bottom current collector plate.

Abstract: A method of performing a radiological biopsy and associated system includes scanning a living human subject with a CT scanner to locate coordinates of an area of potential pathology and then using the coordinates to direct synchrotron radiation to a location at, or proximat the coordinates to obtain a high-resolution image of the area of potential pathology. The CT scan is accomplished with a CT scanner such as a C-Arm, vertical or horizontal CT scanner. A synchrotron radiation source emits synchrotron radiation through the subject and is processed by a processing system. The method and system allow for concurrent or sequential scanning of the subject by the CT scanner and synchrotron radiation scanner. The resulting images provide histological resolution of areas of potential pathology.
