The deployable ramped nose is adapted to distract an implant site upon insertion of the implantable medical device.

The method can further include determining, by a classical computer or the quantum computer, an average occupation for one or more of the quantum states of the one or more qubits using the readout states for each of the shuffling sequences. The readout states can correspond to a state in a subset of the quantum states of the one or more qubits.

    Abstract: Near-Infrared (NIR) filter photometry is used to calculate component concentrations in multiphase flows. The disclosed methodology adapts the Beer-Lambert law for nonhomogeneous immiscible mixtures (such as oil and water) by modeling the fluid layer as a nonhomogeneous distribution of its components and deriving a mathematical relationship between measured absorbances, component path lengths, and non-homogeneity factors. The methodology is integrated into a multi-channel filter photometer to measure phase concentrations in oil-and-gas pipelines. The system is proven more accurate than current state of the art based on data from simulations, multiphase flow laboratories and field trials.

An arrangement for forming a substrate guided hologram includes an array of reflectors and a shaped glass block. Antireflective coated glass layers may be index-matched to opposite sides of a holographic polymer film prior to recording a reflection hologram. An inactive playback beam may be used to monitor the diffraction efficiency of a reflection hologram and of a spurious transmission hologram with the recording of the reflection hologram to maximize the difference between the diffraction efficiencies of useful reflection hologram and spurious transmission hologram.

The application and the other computing device may execute via different virtual machines hosted on the same computing device. To detect the performance degradation that is attributable to the other computing process, certain storage segments of a data storage (e.g., a cache) shared by the virtual machines is written with data. A pattern of read operations are then performed on the segments to determine whether an increase in read access time has occurred. Such a performance degradation is attributable to another computing process. After detecting the degradation, a metric that quantifies the detected degradation attributable to the other computing process is provided to an ML model, which determines the actual performance of the application absent the degradation attributable to the other computing process.

The peak frequencies are used to program the oscillators controllable attributes and characteristics. The synthesis is performed upon receiving an analysis clock. A number of digital oscillators are configured with the associated frequency parameters and gain parameters from a peaks array. The oscillators are configured according to the audio pitch analysis and generate an oscillator output at the frequency and gain specified in the peaks array. These oscillator outputs are summed together generating synthesized audio.
