Abstract: A variety of methods, apparatuses, and systems are disclosed, involving, in one example, a method including traversing the length of a conductive substrate with a holiday detector, inducing an arc voltage at a defect of a coating disposed on the conductive substrate, detecting the arc voltage with sensors, and recording an electrode voltage with electronics disposed at the holiday detector.

Abstract: A protective product, such as, e.g., an envelope or pouch, is provided that includes at least one expanded slit paper sheet in an expanded state, and an embossed paper sheet facing the expanded slit paper sheet and fixed to the expanded slit paper sheet along at least a portion of a length in an expansion direction of the expanded slit sheet paper. In the preferred embodiments, the embossed paper sheet has a plurality of embossings that increase the rigidity of the embossed paper sheet, thereby inhibiting deformation of the embossed paper sheet that is fixed to the expanded slit sheet paper.

Abstract: A method includes receiving a sequence of acoustic frames characterizing a spoken utterance in a particular native language. The method also includes generating a first higher order feature representation for a corresponding acoustic frame in the sequence of acoustic frames by a causal encoder that includes an initial stack of multi-head attention layers. The method also includes generating a second higher order feature representation for a corresponding first higher order feature representation by a non-causal encoder that includes a final stack of multi-head attention layers. The method also includes receiving, as input at each corresponding language-dependent adapter (LDA) module, a language ID vector identifying the particular native language to activate corresponding language-dependent weights specific to the particular native language. The method also includes generating a first probability distribution over possible speech recognition hypotheses by a decoder.

Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure include systems and methods for managing and mitigating erosion in sand features on golf courses. The system can include one or more reservoirs to contain a sand stabilization compound and water, mixers to create a mixed solution, and a distribution subsystem to apply the solution onto golf course sand features. The mixed solution can enhance the stability of sand traps and bunkers, maintaining their aesthetic appeal and playability while reducing maintenance costs. The system can be integrated into existing irrigation systems or applied using portable or vehicle-mounted units, providing flexibility and efficiency in golf course maintenance.

The operations may include receive text for a message being drafted in a messaging application; upon an analysis condition being satisfied, analyze the message by applying at least one of a message-analysis model or heuristic to generate a feedback score for the message; and based on the feedback score crossing a feedback threshold, trigger generation of advanced feedback for the message. The operations may also or alternatively include receive an initial sent message from a messaging application; analyze the message by applying at least one of a message-analysis model or heuristic to generate a feedback score for the message; based on the feedback score crossing a feedback threshold, transmit a feedback alert message for surfacing in the messaging application; and based on receiving an interaction, trigger generation of advanced feedback for the message.

Abstract: A base station transmits, to a wireless device, at least one radio resource control (RRC) message comprising configuration parameters of an unlicensed cell. The base station transmits a first physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) to initiate a random access procedure on the unlicensed cell. In response to a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure indicating a clear channel for uplink transmission of a first preamble of the random access procedure, the base station receives the first preamble via a random access channel (RACH) of the unlicensed cell and transmits a second PDCCH for a random access response (RAR). In response to the LBT procedure indicating an LBT failure, the base station receives a second preamble based on a random access resource selection procedure and does not transmit the second PDCCH for the RAR.

Abstract: Systems and methods for managing resource access permissions for users with unknown credentials are disclosed herein. A resource access request may be received. A measure of risk may be determined. In response to determining that a first access level is permitted, the first user identifier may be inserted in a first access control list. Based on information regarding resources accessed by the first user, an updated measure of risk may be determined. In response to determining that a second access level is permitted, the first user identifier may be inserted in a second access control list.

The print layer(s) include inks or dyes for printing the print features and/or background color(s) of the image or design. The ink may be combined with a binder material to form the print layer(s). In particular, the nucleic acid sequences are useful for preparing plants and microorganisms that possess insecticidal activity. Thus, transformed bacteria, plants, plant cells, plant tissues and seeds are provided. Compositions are insecticidal nucleic acids and proteins of bacterial species. The sequences find use in the construction of expression vectors for subsequent transformation into organisms of interest including plants, as probes for the isolation of other homologous (or partially homologous) genes. The pesticidal proteins find use in controlling, inhibiting growth or killing Lepidopteran, Coleopteran, Dipteran, fungal, Hemipteran and nematode pest populations and for producing compositions with insecticidal activity.

Abstract: Systems and methods for power consumption measurement of pool or spa equipment using a pool automation controller are provided. An example pool automation controller includes inductance coils configured to measure a current induced by an alternating-current (“AC”) electrical input, control devices configured to control power directed to one or more pieces of pool or spa equipment electrically connected to the AC electrical input, and a computing device. The computing device instructs one or more processors to perform operations including identifying a piece of pool or spa equipment based on a status of a control device. The operations further include receiving information about one or more induced currents from the inductance coils. The operations further include determining a power consumption by the piece of pool or spa equipment based on the one or more induced currents. The operations further include outputting the power consumption.
