  • Patent number: 11797836
Abstract: A sensor system includes a transmitter configured to emit electromagnetic radiation towards a portion of an environment and an optical neural network configured to receive a reflection of the electromagnetic radiation from the portion of the environment and generate an array of electromagnetic signals. A property of each respective electromagnetic signal of the array of electromagnetic signals represents a corresponding physical characteristic of the portion of the environment. The sensor system also includes a detector array configured to receive the array of electromagnetic signals and including a plurality of electromagnetic signal detectors. Each respective electromagnetic signal detector is configured to measure the property of a corresponding electromagnetic signal of the array of electromagnetic signals and generate, based on the measured at least one property of the corresponding electromagnetic signal, a value representing the corresponding physical characteristic.

  • Patent number: 11793172
Abstract: An insect separating apparatus may include a sensor positioned to detect one or more insects when present within a test chamber. For example, the sensor may emit signals into the test chamber and receive reflected signals indicative of Doppler shifts caused by movement of the one or more insects. Based on information from the sensor, a computing device may determine a characteristic of the one or more insects in the chamber, such as a wing beat frequency, sex, or other characteristic. The computing device may instruct different responses based on the characteristic determined, such as activating an air mover to divert detected mosquitos out of the test chamber in response to the determined characteristics matching those of female mosquitos, or deactivating or maintaining the air mover in an inactive condition in response to the determined characteristics matching those of male mosquitos, for example, to allow passage through the chamber into a collection receptacle.

  • Patent number: 11794640
Abstract: The technology relates to autonomous vehicles suffering a breakdown along a roadway. Onboard systems may utilize various proactive operations to alert specific vehicles or other objects on or near the roadway about the breakdown. This can be done alternatively or in addition to turning on the hazard lights or calling for remote assistance. The disabled vehicle is able to detect nearby and approaching objects. The detection may be performed in combination with a determination of the type of object or predicted behavior for that object, enables the vehicle to generate a targeted alert that can be transmitted or otherwise presented to that particular object. This approach provides the other object, such as a vehicle, bicyclist or pedestrian, sufficient time and information about the breakdown to take appropriate corrective action. Different communication options are available and may be selected based on the particular object, environmental conditions and other factors.

  • Patent number: 11799239
Abstract: A connector assembly is provided. The connector assembly includes a receptacle module and a pluggable module. The receptacle module includes a cage, a receptacle connector, a biasing spring, and a locking member. The pluggable module is moved from a front end to a back end, so as to be aligned and mated with the receptacle module. The biasing spring is configured to apply a spring load toward the front end of the cage. Accordingly, the mating between the receptacle module and the pluggable module may be accomplished through alignment in the following manner: the pluggable module pushes the receptacle connector toward the back end to compress the biasing spring, so that the receptacle connector is moved toward the back end to the locking member to be mated with the pluggable module.
