Abstract: This document describes techniques and systems that enable an input-mode notification for a multi-input mode. A radar field enables an electronic device to accurately determine the presence or absence of a user near the electronic device. Further, the electronic device can determine whether an application that can receive input through radar-based gestures is operating on the electronic device. Using these techniques, the electronic device can present an input-mode notification on a display of the electronic device when the user is near to alert the user that radar gesture input is available for interacting with the electronic device. This allows the device to provide the user with feedback that can educate the user about what the electronic device is capable of, and allows the user to take advantage of the additional functionality and features provided by the availability of the radar gestures.

Abstract: In some examples, an apparatus for image/video processing includes processing circuitry. The processing circuitry determines, from a coded bitstream that carries a compressed image, a value of a parameter for tuning a compression rate of the compressed image. The compressed image is generated by a neural network based encoder according to the value of the parameter. The processing circuitry inputs the value of the parameter to a multi-rate compression domain computer vision task decoder, the multi-rate compression domain computer vision task decoder includes one or more neural networks for performing a computer vision task from compressed images according to corresponding values of the parameter that are used for generating the compressed images. The multi-rate compression domain computer vision task decoder generates a computer vision task result according to the compressed image in the coded bitstream and the value of the parameter.

Abstract: Animal-free cheesemaking leveraging mycelium fermentation and microbial bio-design techniques facilitate production of plant-based cheese that exhibits enhanced flavor and texture. In one embodiment, the plant-based cheese is mozzarella, and a manufacturing method begins by fermenting a first mixture of soaked cashews and aquafaba liquid to produce cultured cashews. The cultured cashews are then blended into a second mixture together with additional aquafaba liquid, water, and a pea protein derived from mycelium fermentation. A preferred pea protein is shiitake-fermented pea protein. The second mixture is agitated through several mixing cycles while being progressively heated to produce a liquid blend, which blend is then extruded into the cheese composition. A filling and pack out operation is then applied to the cheese composition to produce the finished product, typically in the form of a mozzarella chub.

Abstract: Implementations of the subject matter described herein provide a solution for rate control based on reinforcement learning. In this solution, an encoding state of a video encoder is determined, the encoding state being associated with encoding of a first video unit by the video encoder. An encoding parameter associated with rate control in the video encoder is determined by a reinforcement learning model and based on the encoding state of the video encoder. A second video unit different from the first video unit is encoded based on the encoding parameter. In this way, it is possible to achieve a better quality of experience (QOE) for real time communication with computation overhead being reduced.
