Abstract: Presented are active thermal management (ATM) systems with multi-purpose reservoirs for liquid-immersion cooled battery assemblies, methods for making/using such systems, and motor vehicles equipped with such systems. An ATM system for a battery assembly includes a coolant reservoir that stows a liquid immersion cooling (LIC) fluid, and an inlet manifold that fluidly connects the reservoir to the battery assembly's battery case to transfer LIC fluid into an immersion compartment within the battery case. An outlet manifold fluidly connects the battery case to the reservoir to transfer fluid out from the immersion compartment. An auxiliary vent manifold selectively fluidly connects the battery case to the reservoir responsive to a predefined thermal event to thereby transfer LIC fluid and battery cell vent gases from the immersion compartment to the reservoir. A gas valve, which is fluidly connected to the reservoir, selectively evacuates therefrom the vent gases at a predefined internal reservoir pressure.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and a computer-readable medium are provided for matching textless elements to texted elements in video content. A video processing system including a textless matching system may divide a video into shots, identify shots having similar durations, identify sequences of shots having similar durations, and compare image content in representative frames of the sequences to determine whether the sequences match. When the sequences are determined to match, the sequences may be paired, wherein the first sequence may include shots with overlaid text and the second sequence may include textless version of corresponding texted shots included in the first sequence. In some examples, the video processing system may further replace the determined corresponding texted shots.

Abstract: A “motorless” power electronic test device for testing adjustable speed motor drives without having to connect motors to the drive includes a bidirectional internal power converter, filtering, a charging switch for charging the capacitors of internal and external power converters, line switches for setting the test mode and operating the device, and a switch controller. The test device can be set to separately test an external power converter or an external rectifier, with the internal power converter operating in an AC-to-DC mode for testing the external power converter, and operating in a DC-to-AC mode for testing the external rectifier. The motorless test device recycles test power to reduce testing losses and carbon footprint. It is also much lighter and more convenient to handle than a full-load motor-absorber and, therefore, more amenable to deployment as a portable unit that can be readily transported to customer sites.

Abstract: A method for delivering a High-Pressure gas mixture to a High-Temperature torch nozzle. The method includes several steps. A first steps is providing a plurality of gases to a gas mixing chamber. Then there is mixing turbulently the plurality of gases in the gas mixing chamber to form a High-Pressure gas mixture. Next is directing the High-Pressure gas mixture into a flexible gooseneck hose, and then flowing the High-Pressure gas mixture through the flexible gooseneck hose. A further step is delivering the High-Pressure gas mixture to the High-Temperature torch nozzle. And then, there is dispensing the High-Pressure gas mixture out of the High-Temperature torch nozzle at a temperature of between about 3000 degrees Fahrenheit to 6500 degrees Fahrenheit.
