Abstract: Methods and systems use an additional determination to generate predictions of future data processing load predictions. Specifically, the methods and systems generate additional predictions based on other data sets and data calculation methodologies (e.g., data with non-homogenous time dependencies). The methods and systems then use these additional predictions to determine whether or not the prediction of the real-time average of data processing loads is an outlier. Thus, the methods and systems generate a time-specific data processing prediction.

Abstract: A method includes using a thermistor as a temperature sensor and connecting a pull-up resistor in series to the thermistor in a voltage divider circuit. The pull-up resistor is fabricated in an integrated circuit and includes a series of resistor segments connected to selectable voltage output tabs. The method further includes selecting an output voltage tab for a selected resistance segment having a selected resistance value to match a target resistance value for the pull-up resistor that is smaller than the as-fabricated resistance value of the pull-up resistor, calculating a ratio of a voltage on the thermistor and a voltage on the selected output voltage tab in the voltage divider circuit, and mapping the calculated ratio to a temperature value of the thermistor based on a temperature-resistance relationship of the thermistor in combination with the target resistance value of the pull-up resistor.

Abstract: In one aspect, a swimjet system may include a reverse thrust system worn by a swimmer proximate the frontal upper torso. The system provides a variable amount of reverse thrust such that the user can swim-in-place or make gradual forward progress. Importantly, this may enable a user to effectively “extend” a small residential pool to serve the same function as a twenty-five meter pool typically found at commercial or government facilities. The system also provides laminar current under the user while swimming, which solves the problems of “leg drop,” the need to “out-kick” the arm stroke, and turbulence and wave action around the head associated with conventional swim-in-place devices. Still further, in certain embodiments the system provides a relatively strong current in the region of the arm stroke moving away from the swimmer which provides enhanced “resistance” for proficient swimmers.

Abstract: Techniques are described for low-latency streaming of media content using a lossless protocol. For example, a media stream, comprising encoded video data, can be streamed to a plurality of streaming clients via the lossless protocol. The plurality of streaming clients can be monitored to determine whether any of them have fallen behind in streaming the media stream. When a streaming client falls behind, a portion of video data to be streamed to the streaming client can be selectively dropped based on scalability information and/or long term reference (LTR) frame information. The low-latency streaming can be performed without using per-client quality feedback from the plurality of streaming clients. When streaming using a semi-lossy protocol, a plurality of delivery modes can be used, where each delivery mode is for a different type of encoded video data and provides a different level of reliability.

Abstract: A machine learning method performed by a communication network monitoring device in which an incoming signaling record is received that includes radio signal attributes from a UE in the cellular communication network. A determination is made as to whether the UE incoming signaling record contains location (GPS) data. If the UE incoming signaling record contains GPS data, a machine learning model is generated for determining a location of future UEs in the communication network utilizing the GPS data and the radio signal attributes from the incoming UE signaling record. And if GPS data is not included in the UE incoming signaling record, then first a corrected TA value is determined which is then used, along with other radio signal attributes of the UE, to determine/predict a geolocation for the UE using machine learning techniques.
