Abstract: A mesh model of a 3D space is provided with improved accuracy by refining the locations of edges of objects in the space. The mesh model includes vertices which define surfaces of triangles. Triangles are identified which have two vertices in one plane and another, outlier vertex in another, adjacent plane. A line is fitted to the outlier vertices to define an edge of an object, and the outlier vertices are moved to the line, referred to as a mesh-based line. Texture data from images of the space can be used to further refine the edge. In one approach, gradients in grayscale pixels which correspond the vertices of the mesh-based line are used to define a grayscale-based line. The two line definitions can be combined or otherwise used to provide a final definition of the edge. The object can be measured based on the length and position of the edge.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a signal processing device and a base station antenna. The signal processing device comprises: a substrate; a beam-forming network, which is provided on one side of the substrate; and a calibration circuit, which is provided on the same side of the substrate on which the beam-forming network is provided; wherein the beam-forming network is connected to the calibration circuit via a connecting trace on the substrate.
Abstract: Technologies for selectively streaming video based on mapping buffer data to download rates. The technologies can include sampling download rates of a video player prior to or during downloading of a first video segment to the video player. The technologies can include determining a range of download rates of the video player based at least on the sampled download rates. The technologies can include determining an amount of accumulated video data in a buffer of the video player immediately prior to or during the downloading of the first video segment. Also, the technologies can include mapping the determined amount of accumulated video data to a download rate within the determined range of download rates using a mapping function, and determining a second video segment quality for a second video segment based at least on the mapped download rate.
Abstract: A method includes, while a user is wearing stereo headphones in an environment, obtaining, from a target digital assistant, a response to a query issued by the user, and obtaining spatial audio preferences of the user. Based on the spatial audio preferences of the user, the method also includes determining a spatially disposed location within a playback sound-field for the user to perceive as a sound-source of the response to the query. The method further includes rendering output audio signals characterizing the response to the query through the stereo headphones to produce the playback sound-field. Here, the user perceives the response to the query as emanating from the sound-source at the spatially disposed location within the playback sound-field.
