  • Patent number: 11681030
Abstract: Example embodiments relate to range calibration of light detectors. An example method includes emitting a first light signal toward a first region of a calibration target having a first reflectivity and detecting a reflection of the first light signal. The detected reflection of the first light signal has a first intensity. The example method further includes emitting a second light signal toward a second region of the calibration target having a second reflectivity and detecting a reflection of the second light signal from the second region of the calibration target. The detected reflection of the second light signal has a second intensity. Still further, the example method includes determining a first apparent range based on the detected reflection of the first light signal, determining a second apparent range based on the detected reflection of the second light signal, and generating walk-error calibration data for the detector.

  • Patent number: 11681471
Abstract: The described technology is generally directed towards a streaming data storage system that can switch between a tiered mode of operation in which events are written to Tier-1 storage and later migrated to Tier-2 storage, and a direct mode of operation in which events are written to Tier-2 storage, bypassing the tiered mode. The switching from tiered mode to direct mode, and from direct mode to tiered mode, can be automatic and based on user configuration information. For example, an event size metric (e.g., average event size) can be evaluated against user defined thresholds to determine which mode to use. If the average event size goes below a low threshold value, the tiered mode is switched to and used for appending events to a segment of a data stream. If the average event size goes above a high threshold value, the direct mode is switched to and used.

  • Patent number: 11678976
Abstract: A device and method for forming an adaptive optic in the capsule of a human eye is disclosed, comprising a capsular interface enclosing an optically acceptable medium. The device establishes a physiologic range of optical power in response to a range of ciliary contractile states. The preferred bi-phasic medium of the device is comprised of a solid three dimensional polymeric network suspended in a liquid aqueous phase and bonded to a capsular interface. The polymeric network provides shape to the capsular interface, optical power, and a physiologic response to the suspensory ligament. The three dimensional network of the bi-phasic medium mimics the stacked fiber configuration and elasticity of a natural lens. An alternative embodiment utilizing a single phase medium is also disclosed with associated structural features provided in the capsular interface.

  • Patent number: 11681710
Abstract: Security Information and Event Management tools, log management tools, log analysis tools, and other event data management tools are enhanced. Enhancements harvest entity extraction rules from queries, query results, and other examples involving the extraction of field values from large amounts of data, and help perform entity extraction efficiently. Entity extraction operations locate IP addresses, usernames, and other field values that are embedded in logs or data streams, for example, and populate object properties with extracted values. Previously used extraction rules are applied in new contexts with different users, different data sources, or both. An entity extraction rules database serves as a model that contains rules specifying parsing mechanisms. Parsing mechanisms may include regular expressions, separation character definitions, and may process particular file formats or object notation formats or markup language formats.
