Abstract: A system for disassembling a drill assembly including a drill bit and one or more columns interlinked with each other. The system includes a first clamping mechanism adapted to engage one of the drill bit or a first column, and a second clamping mechanism adapted to engage a second column disposed successively to the drill bit or the first column. The second clamping mechanism is turned relative to the first clamping mechanism to at least partially delink the second column from the first column or the drill bit. The system further includes a first actuator adapted to move one of the first clamping mechanism or the second clamping mechanism relative to the other to define a gap therebetween to reveal an interface between the second column and the drill bit or the first column for delinking the second column relative to the drill bit or the first column.

Abstract: In certain embodiments, reference identifiers may be generated and embedded into a website's content. A request for a reference identifier to be embedded into first content on a first website may be obtained based on a user accessing the first website. Based on the request, interaction data related to the first website may be retrieved indicating that a prior user interacted with text on the first website and subsequently accessed a second website. A reference identifier related to the second website may be caused to be embedded into the text on the first website based on: (i) the second website comprising second content related to the text, (ii) the prior user interacting with the text on the first website, and (iii) the prior user accessing the second website after interacting with the first content on the first website.

Abstract: A method for authenticating an electronic client device for purposes of granting/denying access to a secure network is provided. The network device detects whether a client device requesting access to the secure network is a known client device on a list maintained by the network device or an unrecognized client device that is not on the list. If the client device is detected as being an unrecognized client device, the network device causes a message to be sent to a manager of the secure network. When a response is received, identification information of the unrecognized client device is automatically added to the list of known client devices by the network device. A network device is also provided.
Abstract: An arrangement is disclosed where in a multi-carrier communication system, the modulation scheme, coding attributes, training pilots, and signal power may be adjusted to adapt to channel conditions in order to maximize the overall system capacity and spectral efficiency without wasting radio resources or compromising error probability performance, etc.

Abstract: A standpipe freeze-protection device having a frustum shell. The shell has a first end, a second end, an outer surface, and a plurality of drain apertures. The first end has a first surface that substantially closes the first end except for an opening within the first surface. The opening is configured to allow a standpipe to pass through the opening. The second end is opposite the first end and is substantially open. The outer surface extends between the first end and the second end. The plurality of drain apertures are through the outer surface of the shell.
Abstract: Scaling of an ordered event stream (OES) based on a characteristic of one or more writer groups is disclosed. Scaling a portion of an OES contemporaneous to writing events into that portion can conserve computing resources in contrast to more conventional scaling techniques. Moreover, scaling an OES contemporaneously with writing events thereto can enable improved management of OES scaling for applications that can both read events from an input portion of an OES and, via interim events and interim portions of an OES, write events to an output portion of an OES. An application instance can therefore simultaneously act as both a reader group and writer group and can manage data via interim OESs, such that effects of passing the data through the interim OESs can be cascaded into a scaling of the output portion of an OES based on the writer group characteristic.
Abstract: The thorn extractor apparatus has a frame, a roller, a screen that surrounds the roller and a screen roller, and a removably attachable collection bin for receiving the thorny seeds. The roller and screen work together to pick up and convey the thorny seeds to the removably attachable collection bin to be discarded.
Abstract: Shelf-stable, rapid crosslinking, “all-in-one” pastes useful as “inks” in additive manufacturing are provided. These pastes exhibit desirable rheological flow properties and crosslinking upon exposure to UV light. The pastes are based on vinylsilyl-functionalized, completely amorphous, linear terpolysiloxanes containing predominantly dimethylsiloxy-repeat units with small amounts of diphenylsiloxy-, methylphenylsiloxy-, diethylsiloxy-, and/or methyltrifluoroalkylsiloxy-crystallization disruptors. The base polymers are preferably compounded with a trimethylsilylated-hydrophobic silica filler, thixotropic flow agent, hydrosilyl-functionalized oligomeric crosslinker, and a catalytic system comprising platinum(II) acetylacetonate or trimethyl(methylcyclopentadienyl)-platinum(IV), and diethyl azodicarboxylate.

Abstract: A high resolution analog to digital converter (ADC) with improved bandwidth senses an analog signal (e.g., a load current) to generate a digital signal. The ADC operates based on a load voltage produced based on charging of an element (e.g., a capacitor) by a load current and a digital to analog converter (DAC) output current (e.g., from a N-bit DAC). The ADC generates a digital output signal representative of a difference between the load voltage and a reference voltage. This digital output signal is used directly, or after digital signal processing, to operate an N-bit DAC to generate a DAC output current that tracks the load current. In addition, quantization noise is subtracted from the digital output signal thereby extending the operational bandwidth of the ADC. In certain examples, the operational bandwidth of the ADC extends up to 100s of kHz (e.g., 200-300 kHz), or even higher.
Abstract: Methods of and system for growing and maintaining an optimized/ideal active yeast solution in the yeast tank and fermenter tank during the fermentation filling cycle are provided. A new yeast stage tank is used between the yeast tank and the fermenter tank allowing yeast to rapidly produce a huge amount of active young yeast cells for a fermenter during the filling period. A measurable and useful controlling factor, % DT/% Yeast by weight ratio (or “food” to yeast ratio), is used (e.g., % DT=glucose), which offers information on the health status of the yeast. The controlling factor is used to control the status of the yeast throughout the entire process.
Abstract: Polycationic polymeric antimicrobial surfactant and polymeric biocompatible antimicrobial surfactant compositions are useful in dispersing various compounds in a carrier liquid. The polycationic polymeric antimicrobial surfactant and polymeric biocompatible antimicrobial surfactant compositions employ polymers having both hydrophilic domains and hydrophobic domains so that the compositions can disperse particles such as polymer particles or droplets in a continuous phase as well as provide stable dispersions that have not been provided before. The antimicrobial properties of the compositions provide much-needed capabilities of fighting infectious agents such as bacteria and viruses in a wide spectrum of products such as paint, adhesives, and coatings. Methods of using these compositions as well as methods of making products using the compositions are disclosed.

Abstract: Thermal management systems are provided for thermally managing electrified vehicle battery packs. An exemplary battery thermal management system may monitor the availability and effectiveness of a radiator for thermally managing a battery pack. A control unit may be configured to actuate a valve from an open position to a closed position that prevents the flow of the coolant to the radiator when a coolant temperature of the coolant is less than a modified ambient temperature. The modified ambient temperature may be derived as a function of a vehicle speed.
