Abstract: A speaker system uses multiple sound chambers having phi ratios to create a dampening effect to filter out incoherent sounds, thus creating an enhanced listening experience that feels very natural to the listener. The speaker system has at least a sound driver, a first sound chamber having a first volume, and a second sound chamber having a second volume that is approximately 1.6 times the first volume. The speaker system can also have a second sound driver, and a third sound chamber having a third volume that is that is approximately 1.6 times the second volume.
Abstract: A medication confirmation method and apparatus. The method of an embodiment of the invention includes the steps of capturing one or more video sequences of a user administering medication, storing the captured one or more video sequences, and comparing at least one of the stored video sequences with a corresponding one or more prerecorded video sequences to confirm that the user has properly administered the medication.
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media for providing communication recommendations to users. The system receives electronic transcripts associated with a first user and generates, based on the transcripts, a communication profile of the user. The system also receives additional user transcripts associated with a plurality of additional users and generates additional communication profiles for those additional users based on the additional transcripts. The system receives a request to communicate with at least one user within the plurality of additional users regarding a specified topic, identifies a second user from within the plurality of additional users, and generates a communication initiation recommendation for the first user to communicate with the second user. The system then transmits the communication initiation recommendation to a first user computing device associated with the first user.

Abstract: In a method of session initiation protocol (SIP) session management, a SIP session information request is sent to a network resource management (NRM) server by a vertical application layer (VAL) server to obtain a list of SIP sessions established between (i) a VAL client associated with the VAL server and (ii) the NRM server. A response message comprising SIP session information is received by the VAL server from the NRM server in response to the SIP session information request. The SIP session information includes the list of SIP sessions established between the VAL client and the NRM server. A plurality of SIP sessions is managed across a plurality of NRM servers based on the response message, where the plurality of NRM servers comprises the NRM server and the plurality of SIP sessions comprises the list of SIP sessions established between the VAL client and the NRM server.
Abstract: A control device may be configured to delay an attachment procedure while attachment messages are being transmitted over the network. The control device may be configured to initiate an attachment procedure with a router device on a network at the end a back-off period of time. The attachment procedure may include transmitting attachment messages (e.g., parent request messages) that enable the control device to transmit and receive messages over the network through the router device. During the back-off period of time, the control device may determine an attachment message is received from another control device on the network. And, if an attachment message (e.g., a parent request messages and/or a link request message) is received from another control device, the control device may increase the back-off period of time (e.g., delaying when the control device initiates its attachment procedure).

Abstract: In a wireless communication network, distributed ledger circuitry executes a contract from an origin block and transfers an instantiation request for a wireless network slice to network orchestration circuitry. The network orchestration circuitry instantiates the wireless network slice responsive to the instantiation request from the distributed ledger circuitry. The wireless network slice delivers a wireless network service to the UEs and transfers slice usage data to the distributed ledger circuitry. The distributed ledger circuitry executes the contract from middle blocks and a termination block to form a blockchain that stores the slice usage data for the wireless network slice. The distributed ledger circuitry transfers a termination request for the wireless network slice to the network orchestration circuitry responsive to the execution of the contract from the termination block.
Abstract: Various embodiments set forth liquid crystal (LC) patterning control systems in which LCs are aligned using locally applied magnetic fields. The index of refraction experienced by light propagating through an anisotropic LC is dependent on orientation. As a result, a phase difference may be imparted to an optical beam that is passed through, or reflected from, an array of LCs whose orientations are controlled via locally applied magnetic fields. In some embodiments, the locally applied magnetic fields may be generated by driving currents through wires that intersect at micro or nanomagnetic particles or at magnetic domains, or by applying voltages to micro or nanocoils wrapped around high-permeability cores, among other things.
